1.ConnectthepreparedUSBstoragedevicetotheserver.TheUSBstoragedeviceshouldcontain

requireddevicedriversforyourservermodelandoperatingsystem.

2.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetastherststartup

device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.

3.PressanykeyonthekeyboardassoonasthemessagePressanykeytobootfromCDisdisplayed.The

Windowssetupinitializationbegins.

4.PressF6assoonasthemessagePressF6ifyouneed...driverisdisplayedatthebottomofthescreen.

5.WhenthemessageSetupcouldnotdeterminethe...devicesisdisplayed,pressSandfollowthe

instructionsonthescreentoinstalldevicedrivers.

6.WhenthemessageYouhavechosen...isdisplayed,selectLSIEmbeddedMegaRAID(Windows

2003...)andpressEnter.

7.WhenthemessageSetupwillloadsupportforthefollowingmassstoragedevicesisdisplayed,press

Enter.

8.Whenthewelcomewindowisdisplayed,pressEnter.Then,theWindowsLicenseAgreementis

displayed.

9.PressF8toaccepttheWindowsLicenseAgreementandcontinuewiththeinstallation.

10.Whenallharddiskdrivesavailableontheserveraredisplayed,selectadrivepartitiononwhichyou

wanttoinstalltheoperatingsystemandthenpressEnter.

11.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentomakeselectionsuntiltheinstallationprocessbegins.Then,the

drivepartition,whichyouhaveselected,willbeformattedandtheapplicableleswillbecopiedfrom

theoperatingsysteminstallationdisctothedrivepartition.Whentheprocessnishes,theserverwill

restartautomatically.

12.Aftertheserverrestarts,followtheinstructionsonthescreentosettheregionalandlanguageoptions,

enteryournameandlicensekey,anddoothercongurationstocompletetheinstallation.

13.Installotherrequireddevicedrivers.Todownloaddevicedrivers,gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/drivers

9.Whenallharddiskdrivesavailableontheserveraredisplayed,dooneofthefollowingtoselector

createadrivepartitioninwhichtoinstalltheoperatingsystem:

•Createapartitionautomatically:Ifyouwanttousetheentireharddiskdriveasoneprimarypartition,

selectDisk0unallocatedspacefortheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperating

•CleanInstall:SelectthisoptionifyoudonothaveanexistingWindowsdomain.AWindowsdomain

isalogicalgroupofcomputersrunningversionsoftheMicrosoftWindowsoperatingsystemthat

shareacentraldirectorydatabase.SelectthisoptiontosetupafullnewinstallationoftheWindows

SmallBusinessServer2011Standardoperatingsystem.

•ServerMigration:SelectthisoptionifyouwanttoaddthisservertoanexistingWindowsdomain,

andtheninstalltheserverapplications.Ifyouselectthisoption,youcanhaveonlyoneserverrunning

theWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011operatingsystemonyournetwork,andthatservermustbe

adomaincontrollerofthenetwork.

9.ClickOpenDateandTimetoverifytheclockandtimezonesettingstosetyourdateandtime.

Then,clickNext.

10.Selectoneofthefollowingmethodsforyourservernetworkconguration:

•Automaticallydetectthenetworksettings:Thisoptionenablesyourservertoautomaticallydetect

thenetworksettingsofthenetworkadapter.Ifyouselectthisoption,whentheGetimportantupdates

windowopens,itisrecommendedthatyouselectGoonlineandgetthemostrecentinstallation

updates.

•Manuallychoosethenetworksettingsasfollows:Ifyouselectthisoption,youwillneedtotype

thecorrespondinginformationintheDefaultGatewayandIPAddresselds.

Note:AmessageAnetworkadapterwasnotfoundmightbedisplayedindicatingthatyoudonothavea

networkadapterdevicedriverinstalled.Toinstallthedevicedriver,clickOpenDeviceManagerto

installdrivers.Afterthedevicedriverisinstalled,theserverwillrestartandtheinstallationprocess

11.ClickNext.

12.IntheCompanyinformationwindow,typeyourbusinessinformationifnecessary.

13.Personalizeyourserverandyournetworkbytypingtheservernameandinternaldomainname,and

thenclickNext.

14.Addanetworkadministratoraccountbytypinganameandapassword,andthenclickNext.Awindow

opens,displayingyoursettings.

15.ReviewyoursettingsandclickNext.

16.WhentheExpandingandinstallingleswindowopens,theserverwillrestart.Theserverwillrestart

multipletimesandtheprocesscantake30minutesorlonger.Whenawindowopensnotifyingyouthat

theinstallationissuccessful,theinstallationcompletes.
