A) ASSEMBLY / CABLES
1. USB-powered devices Combo Scan, Combo Scan Kiosk
• Connect the USB to the scanner and to the PC
2. External-powered devices Combo Smart, Combo Smart Kiosk, PRMc
• Connect the USB to the scanner and to the PC
• Connect the power supply to the scanner
• Connect the power cord to the power supply and to the wall socket
3. Network devices Combo Smart N
• Connect the power supply to the scanner
• Connect the power cord to the power supply and to the wall socket
• Connect an Ethernet cord to the scanner and to the pc / router
Setting up your passport reader device is nice and easy – simply follow these steps.

Thank you for choosing ARH’s state-of-the-art ID reading and authentication solutions. This guide will
quickly take you through the steps of setting up your new passport reader. If you need more detailed
instructions, you can always have access to the full install guides – see the QR codes below.
• Check our automatic notication e-mail which was sent on the day of dispatch –
and use the link to download the latest passport reader software. Alternatively,
contact our support team (http://atssregistration.arh.hu) to access our software
modules.
• Follow the steps of the install guide, which can be found in the software package.
Make sure to install both pr and procr software components.
B) SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
1. USB Devices Combo Scan,Combo Scan Kiosk, Combo Smart, Combo Smart Kiosk, PRMc
• Using a web browser, connect to the scanner via its IP address.
The default IP address is 192.168.6.135.
Enter the following in your browser or use this QR code:
https://192.168.6.135:8080/login.html
• Login to the scanner software using the default credentials:
name: admin
password: admin
2. Network Devices Combo Smart N
Network devices have onboard processing with pre-installed software; the
device does not require any driver to be installed on your PC.
Demo
Test your passport reader using the Full Page Reader application:
• Windows: Start menu ➝ ARH ➝ Full Page Reader or C:\Program Files\GX\demos\PrDemoSDL\
PrDemoSDL.exe
• Linux: Dashboard: Applications/Passport Reader Demo or Terminal: PrDemo or ~/usr/bin/PrDemo
SDK
Access the SDK content directly from the software package, in the SDK subfolder. You will nd
different sdk packages – read WhichSdkToUse.txt to nd the most appropriate SDK for your
development.

Uploading Licenses
• Install the software mentioned in 2/B, it will automatically install License
Manager application, too.
• Start License Manager:
- Windows: Start menu
➝ ARH or C:\Program Files\GX\utils\LicenseManager
- Linux: Dashboard: Applications/License Manager or ~/opt/gx64/
LicenseManager/LicenseManager_x86_64.out
• Follow the steps of License Manager User Manual (located in the same folder) – or simply
download it via the QR code.
C) LICENSES
• To help you, we have already loaded the necessary licenses for using the standard passport reader
software – you have no further installation tasks.
• For using Capture or Verify software modules, you will need the corresponding license les. These
were either supplied in the automatic notication e-mail when the scanner was dispatched – or
they were pre-loaded to the scanner if you ordered a larger batch of devices. If you do not nd this
e-mail and your license is missing, please contact our sales team at [email protected]
