REFER TO OWNERS MANUAL OF WATER HEATER AND GAS CONTROL FOR
SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. FAILURE TO DO
SO CAN RESULT IN PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
TO REMOvE GAS CONTROL:
Shut OFF electrical power to 1.
the water heater (if applicable).
Shut OFF gas supply to the 2.
water heater.
Shut OFF cold water supply to water 3.
heater. Open hot water faucet, open
drain valve on water heater and drain water
to a point below the gas control.
Disconnect gas, pilot tube and thermocouple 4.
from gas control.
Place gas control wrench over gas control as Illustrated (Note location of 5.
sliding bracket relative to the control.)
Slide adjustable bracket securely against gas control.6.
Tighten “No Slip” wing nut set screw firmly.7.
Use a wrench or socket on the solid metal hex bar to loosen* gas control 8.
and gently unscrew gas control.
The Camco Gas Control Wrench may be used to install a gas control by
reversing the above procedure. Once gas control is installed and gas supply
restored, the assembly must be leak tested using Camco Gas Leak Tester
or equal prior to operating.
* Note: Some gas controls have left hand mounting threads. Please note this
while installing or removing gas control.
