PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS
DALI CONTROL MODULE DMX CONTROL MODULE
The protocol interface modules serve to connect the HeiBus with the other systems
already available on the market. This allows users to expand the system to include
other protocols, which makes the HeiBus protocol much more flexible.

The following parameters are found on devices which are defined on programmes
for touch screens and on the configuration programme of the Sw-heiBus version
2.08 modules
•  PROGRAMMING DALI LIGHTS
•  ID Module address.
•  Addressing Allows the user to choose the type of connection used.
BROADCAST Manage all lights connected to the module regardless of where
they are addressed
SINGLE LIGHT Manage a DALI light through its address (0-63)
SINGLE GROUPS Manage a group of DALI lights (1-15)
•  LIGHT ADDRESSES Address or group of lights programmed by the DALI devices
(to be programmed using a special programmer).
•  PROGRAMMING DMX LIGHTS
•  ID Module address.
•  ADDRESSING Allows the user to choose the type of connection used.
CHANNELS Set the parameters for all of the managed RGB channels
RGB LIGHT Manage a RGB light using its 3 DMX channels
•  LIGHT ADDRESSES The number of the DMX channel
The module is able to command 32 DALI channels to control the light intensity
through 2 DALI bus wires (1 DALI channel = 1 light with a DALI electronic dimmer
reactor). The module directly powers the DALI bus and does not require installation
of a power supply.
PROGRAMMING: the DALI interface, for purposes of
compatibility with the mono-chrome TS commands,
features a 4-way Dip-switch for addressing the
board; see table 1.
The DALI interface can be programmed with the SW-
heiBus from the 2.0.8 version
It is able to command the first 16 DMX channels (1 DMX=1 DMX device function),
which is ideal to control RGB lights.
PROGRAMMING: The DMX interface can be programmed
with the SW-heiBus from the 2.0.8 version

WARNING: the DALI interface is not a DALI
programmer. To program the DALI reactors
it is necessary to have a special program-
mer. Please contact the supplier who
provided the reactors.
ASSIGNING GROUPS TO DALI LIGHTS
DALI reactor to be programmed
DALI reactor NOT to be programmed
All the reactors which do not need to
have their programming changed must
be disconnected from the DALI network.
DALI USB Programmer
Step 1:
software installation
Install the DALI master CONFIGURATOR software and then connect
the USB cable.
The software is provided separately and can be found on the CD
together with the module configuration program.
Step 2:
connection

ASSIGNING GROUPS TO DALI LIGHTS
Step 3:
software start up
Check that the USB interface is found.
Step 4:
assigning groups
WARNING: all the DALI lights connected to the DALI bus will be set to the
group that is being sent.
Select Broadcast.
then
ADD TO GROUP 0 (for group 1)
ADD TO GROUP 1 (for group 2)
...
And press SEND COMMAND
To remove a group, select REMOVE FROM GROUP xx
Step 5:
verify group
Select Group and the group to command
then
DIRECT ARC POWER
then
Select 100% (or another value to change the light level)
And press SEND COMMAND

FAILURES AND ANOMALIES
WARNING: Respect the polarity of the connection.
For the bus connection, the 009DC3X10NG4 cable is recommended (GR4, FR0R 300/500V type, 3x1mm² section).
We recommend that a shielded cable with two pairs, one twisted (D+ and D-) be used to connect the DMX module and DMX devices.
PROBLEM ANALYSIS SOLUTION
The module does not carry out any commands.
Blue LED always on
The bus terminal is connected to GND. Check the connections
of all the terminals with the bus. A module on the bus is not
powered (the 24V terminal is disconnected).
I can communicate with the bus (modules with blue LEDs switch
on), but the blue LED is always o.
The module has no power or is not connected to the rest of the
bus.
Check the connections of all the terminals with the bus.
I can communicate with the bus (modules with blue LEDs switch
on) and the blue LED flashes like the other modules.
Check the board address against that set for the project on the
touch screen.
The module functions, but the lights do not switch on properly.
I switch on light 1 but light 2 activates, the intensity level is
correct.
Check touch screen programming, and reprogram the touch
screen properly.
When I switch on one light others switch on as well.
Dali – the lights are programmed with the same address or
group, reprogram the DALI lights
DMX – the lights are programmed with the same channel,
reprogram the lights
The colours are incorrect.
Dali- check that the wiring of the lights corresponds with the
Touch Screen programming for the address of the 3 colours
DMX- Check that the wiring of the DMX corresponds with the
Touch Screen programming for the 3-colour channels
TABLE 1: ADDRESSING MODULES
The interface address is the ID address for the he¡BUS modules.
Within the bus, all of the interfaces must have individual non-duplicate addresses.
The interface address can be changed at any time without needing to switch o the interface.
For DALI/DMX modules, the heiBus ID address (1-254) is used for commands from the keypad or colour TSs. For commands from monochrome TSs, set the address (0-15) in the
advanced properties of the DALI/DMX module on the SWHEIBus. The dip switches from version 2.09 are no longer managed.
