Silex SD-330AC-1402 is a versatile device that can operate in two modes: Serial Device Server mode and Ethernet to Wi-Fi Bridge mode. Access to SD-330AC-1402 Web page
Collect the wireless setting information
such as SSID, encryption mode,
encryption key, etc. of your wireless
network.
* If you will use the SD-330AC-1402 in
a wired network after finishing the
configuration, you do not have to
collect the wireless setting information.
PIN Assignment
Open a web browser to access to
the SD-330AC-1402
configuration web page.
Type the IP address identified
through SX-Finder to an address
bar on your web browser.
Identify an IP address of
the SD-330AC-1402 by
SX-Finder when the SD-
330AC-1402 is connected
to your network. SX-Finder
manual is included in the
zip file downloaded in step
3 of section 1-2.
If SX-Finder cannot find
the SD-330AC-1402, the
default IP address is
169.254.111.111.
Yellow/Green LEDs : OFF
Orange LED : ON
Check the LEDs on SD-330AC-1402.
- Orange/Green LED turns ON
- Yellow LEDs turn OFF
SD-330AC-1402
Connect the SD-330AC-1402 to
your computer.
Connect AC adaptor to SD-330AC-
1402 and the power plug to an
outlet.

Prepare the items and information that will
be necessary to configure SD-330AC-1402
Configure the SD-330AC-1402 for the
installation to your network
* For a 100BASE-TX network, a network
cable supporting 100BASE-TX (category
5 or above) is required.
The following explains how to download the necessary utilities
and user’s manual from silex technology’s homepage.
WARNING: Do not connect your serial device yet
Type User ID and Password
and click Login.
Configuration web page appears as below.
Click Login to configure the SD-330AC-1402.
Default
User ID: admin
Password: access
Set a new login password and click Submit.
Configuration menu appears on the left of the web
page.

Note: “WLAN PSK SET TO DEFAULT,
NOT FIPS 140-2 COMPLIANT”
message disappears once WLAN PSK
value is set through WEB console.
The WPA2-PSK value must be entered by the Cryptographic officer on an isolated network with the
machine containing Cryptographic Officer’s web browser directly connected to SD-330AC-1402
and not connected via a LAN. The WPA2-PSK value must be entered using the Configuration CLI.
The same is true for entry of externally generated RSA private keys/public certificates.

Tips
* Select Infra to connect the SD-330AC-
1402 to your Wi-Fi access point.
* Select AccessPoint to use the SD-
330AC-1402 as an access point.
* SSID in the Infra mode is the SSID of
your wireless LAN. SSID in the
AccessPoint mode is the SSID of the SD-
330AC-1402 as the access point.
* Select the RF channel when the
AccessPoint mode is selected. Channel 1
11 is in 2.4GHz band. Others are in
5GHz band.
* The WPA2 PSK value must be a valid
256 bits PSK value in order to be FIPS
140-2 compliant. (Equivalent to 64
hex digits)
Click I/O Port to configure the Serial Data Port to connect
your serial client device. The setting must match the
settings on your client device. Click Submit at the bottom
of the window to save your changes.
3-1. Install your serial device
Disconnect the power supply from the SD-330AC-1402
Unplug the network cable if you use the SD-330AC-1402 over your
wireless LAN. Otherwise, connect the SD-330AC-1402 to your network
with the network cable.
Connect your serial device to the SD-330AC-1402
The SD-330AC-1402 will be powered on if your serial device
supplies 5V from DB-9 #9 pin.
Connect the power supply to the SD-330AC-1402 if the SD-330AC-
1402 is not powered from your serial device.
WARNING: Do not connect DC power
supply to the SD-330AC-1402 if your
serial device supplies 5V DC power
through DB-9 #9 pin.

capabilities that enable it to be used in a wide
range of applications, including

Click Restart on the left side of the screen and click Yes
in the page displayed.
Skip this step when a DHCP server is used to assign IP
address to the SD-330AC-1402. Click TCP/IP from the left
panel and select Static from pull-down menu of DHCP to set
static IP address. Configure TCP/IP setting and click Submit.

Configure Operating Mode, SSID, Network
Authentication and Encryption Mode in
Wireless LAN to connect SD-330AC-1402 to
your wireless LAN. Click Submit once all fields
are configured. Note: Pre-Shared Key must be
configured in next step.
Click Web console on the left panel,
type “SET FIPS1402 APP ENableand
click Enter.
Click Restart on the left panel and click
Yes. Once the web page is reloaded and
the login page appears, please login
using the password set by step 13.

2-3-1 Configuration for Serial Device Server mode over wired LAN
Serial port to wired LAN connection operates in
FIPS 140-2 App-Compatible mode. Install CA
certificate, local certificate and local private key
through TCP/IP configuration page
2-4 Configuration for Ethernet to Wi-Fi Bridge mode
Configure Wireless LAN to connect SD-330AC-1402 to your
wireless LAN. Click Submit once all fields are configured.
Note: Bridge mode operates in the infrastructure mode.
Please refer to step 2-3-2 for more details of Wireless LAN
setting.
Click General and select Multi for Bridge Mode. Click
Submit to save the changes. When using static MAC address
and/or MAC address filtering, refer to User manual for more
details.
Click TCP/IP to configure an IP address. When running in the
Bridge Mode, communication with the SD-330AC-1402 is limited
Configuration and Status services via the Ethernet port. To access
the SD-330AC-1402 when running in Bridge Mode, a static IP
Address must be configured. Click Submit to save the changes,
then Restart.

Turn off the network device that you wish to use wirelessly
and connect it to SD-330AC-1402 using the network cable
Connect the AC adapter to SD-330AC-1402 and the AC
adapter’s plug to the electrical outlet.
Turn on the network device connected to SD-330AC-1402.
* Some network devices may require
additional network settings. In such cases,
please refer to the manual that came with the
network device.
* When turning on the SD-330AC-1402 and
network devices, turn on SD-330AC-1402 first.
Click Web console on the left panel.
Type “SET NW WPAPSK <key>” and
click Enter. Type “SAVEand click
Enter.
