LOWER BRACKET ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW
Before assembly, you can paint / powder coat the parts as you choose. To get the two tone look, powder coat / paint
the far right piece (cowl insert) to your desired color.
Step 1 — Lower cowl assembly
Slide the middle portion onto the main
mounting bracket as shown (right) and
install a 5/16” black bolt into the top of the
bracket with a nut on the back to hold it to-
gether. Hand tighten for the moment.
**THIS IS ALSO A LOCATION
(EXAMPLE IMAGE SHOWN) TO
MOUNT LIGHT PODS. IF MOUNTING A
LIGHT POD, DO NOT INSTALL A BOLT
INTO THIS LOCATION. MOUNT LIGHT
POD AT THIS TIME AND RUN THE
ELECTRICAL WIRE THROUGH THE
ELECTRICAL OPENING (MARKED IN
YELLOW)
Step 2 — Lower cowl assembly face
Install 10-32 black bolts into the two holes at
the front of the cowl and install a nut onto the
backside of the black bolts. Hand tighten at
this time
REMOVE THE FACTORY COWL BY REMOVING FOUR FACTORY BOLTS
RETAIN THE UPPER FACTORY HARDWARE

Step 3—Front cowl cover
With the main assembly together, slide the
front cowl guard into place and secure using
another 1/2” length black bolt and nylock nut
and 10-32 black bolt and nylock nut.
Tighten all 5/16” bolts and nylock nuts using a
1/2” socket.
Tighten all 10-32 bolts and nylock nuts using
a 3/8 socket.
**IF INSTALLING LIGHT PODS ONTO THE LOW-
ER COWLS, MOUNTING LOCATIONS. (MARKED
IN BLUE)ARE EITHER UPPER 5/16 HOLE OR
SIDE 5/16 HOLE, AND RUN YOUR POWER WIRES
THROUGH THE ELECTRICAL OPENING
(MARKED IN YELLOW) BEFORE TIGHTENING
DOWN YOUR LIGHT OR BRACKET
IF INSTALLING THE 50” LIGHT BAR BRACKET, FOLLOW THE NEXT STEP.

Step 4—Install stainless badge and lower mounting bolts
Install the stainless steel badge onto the front
face of the cowl using the supplied rivets.
Install the 1 1/4” length long bolts on the face
of the cowl through the hole towards the lower
front, and then put the aluminum spacer then
white washer to hold it in place.
If installing the lower cowls only, install the
2nd long bolt through the rearmost hole, oth-
erwise leave that hole open for the moment
until the next step

STEP 5 — 50” LIGHT BAR BRACKET INSTALL
Hold the spacer plate against the light bar
cowl, then the 50” light bar bracket. The
spacer plate will go between the 50” bracket
and the lower cowl bracket. They should be
flush with each other.
With the spacer and light bar in place, Install
two 5/16” x 5/8 bolts holding the 50” light bar
to the main cowl unit to the nuts welded to the
bracket and tighten down and tighten down
with Allen head wrench / socket.
Install the last M8 bolt through the bottom
open bolt location with the aluminum spacer
and washer.
Arm brackets will have 3 rubber bump stops.
For additional paint protection, use the extra
bump stops found in your hardware kit. Space
them between the open areas on your brackets
in the same position as the assembled bump
stops.

Step 6 — MOUNT TO THE JEEP
Double check that you have now tightened
ALL bolts on the cowl including the 50”
bracket bolts (if applicable)
Line the cowl up on the side of the jeep and
slide it into place.
If your light bar is shorter, it will compresses
the arm to the side of your windshield. Add
washers for spacing and assure brackets are
not pressed flat against your paint. Add addi-
tional bump stops if needed.

Step 7
Set a black plastic washer into the hole where
the original factory bolt was removed
Slide the main cowls under the factory cowl.
RE-USE the original bolts removed from the
original cowl into the holes that line up under
the factory cowl hole cover.
Start the bolts so the cowl stays in place.
Step 8 —Lower Bracket Final Install
**LOWER COWL INSTALL
Start the two LOWER bolts into the factory
holes and hand tighten for the moment. If in-
stalling lower cowl only, tighten lower two
M8 bolts, and factory cowl cover bolts (blue
markers). Install one black 5/16 dummy bolts
into place on the left side of the cowl (marked
in red) and install one rubber plug into the
hole near the windshield (marked in yellow)

Step 950” Bracket Final Install
**50” LIGHT BAR INSTALL
If installing a 50” light bar, tighten all bolts on
the side you are currently working on includ-
ing the 5/16” bolts and M8 bolts, then repeat
the process of installing the cowl on the other
side and then install the light bar into the holes
at the top of the 50” light bar BEFORE tight-
ening the bolts on the cowl.
Step 10 — 50” Bracket Final Install Pictures
Use if needed: Before installing the light bar,
you may need to add the 1/4 in. aluminum
black spacers depending upon the light bar
purchased. This will fill the space between the
light bar and bracket.

LIMITED TWELVE (12) MONTH WARRANTY FOR FINISH AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
Rock-Slide Engineering, LLC (“R-SE”) warrants to the original purchaser that (a) the structural and mechanical components of the Step
Sliders will be free of defects in material and workmanship for the lifeme of the Step Sliders (the product”), and (b) the nish (powder
coat) and the electrical components (including the motor) will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of twelve (12)
months from the original date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser. Warranty is void if product was not
purchased directly from R- SE or from an authorized R-SE retailer or reseller. This warranty applies only with regard to the original instal-
laon of the product to the original vehicle. This warranty does not cover removal or reinstallaon of the product.
To exercise this warranty and receive any warranty service, the original purchaser must provide R-SE with proof of purchase and date of
purchase that is acceptable to R-SE, such as a copy of the original purchasers purchase receipt. The original purchaser must return the
defecve product to R-SE along with a descripon of the problem, a copy of the original purchase receipt, the original bill of sale and all
contact informaon (name, address, telephone number and email address). To begin the warranty process, the original purchaser must
email R-SEs warranty department.
During this warranty term, and upon the original purchasers valid exercise of this warranty, R-SE shall, at its opon, repair or furnish a
replacement product in the event the original product is deemed by R-SE to be defecve. R-SEs sole liability shall be for repairing or re-
placing the product, but R-SE may refund the purchase price at its sole discreon and opon. The original purchaser is responsible for
prepayment of all shipping and/or transportaon charges with respect to the exercise of this warranty. The product may change without
noce. In the event of a product change, R-SE has no obligaon to upgrade or modify any older generaon product.
THE WARRANTY SET FORTH HEREIN IS THE ONLY WARRANTY COVERING THE PRODUCT. NO OTHER WARRANTY EXISTS, EXPRESS OR IM-
PLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND/OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
No retailer, reseller, dealer, agent or employee is authorized to make any modicaons, extensions, amendments or addions to this
warranty.
This warranty shall be void in its enrety if R-SE determines that the product installaon was modied, changed, altered, customized or
in any way used other than as instructed. Installaon of the product without strictly adhering to the installaon instrucons shall void
this warranty. Installaon must be on the proper vehicle or warranty is void.
R-SE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY AND/OR
UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WHATSOEVER. IN ANY EVENT, ANY DAMAGES IN ANY SITUATION SHALL BE LIQUITADED DAMAGES AND
MAY NOT EXCEED THE RETAIL PRICE OF THE PRODUCT. R-SE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE OR INJURY DIRECTLY OR IN-
DIRECTLY ARISING FROM THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO DETERMINE THE USE OF THE PRODUCT. THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER IS RESPONSI-
BLE TO DETERMINE THE SUITABILITY OF THE PRODUCT FOR ITS INTENDED USE, PRIOR TO USING THE PRODUCT, AND THE ORIGINAL
PURCHASER ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY AND RISK IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
