• Check the following before calling our technical department:

- Is the cable between the modem and the decoder properly connected to one of the

TVconnections ?

- Is the blue Belgacom TV screen displayed? If not, unplug the modem and the decoder

from the wall sockets. Wait 20 seconds. Plug the modem back in, followed bythe

decoder. Start-up may take a few minutes.

• If the problem persists, contact Customer Service on 0800 55 700. Operating hours

are07.00 to 22.00 on weekdays and 08.00 to 22.00 at weekends.

Customer Service is not available on public holidays.

* Your HD channels: the availability of high-de nition content depends on your installation and whether you are in an area covered by the HD signal.

You can check this at www.belgacom.be/tv or in a Belgacom shop.

 e decoder

 e equipment will have been installed either by you or by an engineer.

Nevertheless, if you need to disconnect the cables, refer to the installation guide

for instructions on reconnection. Depending on which model you have, the

decoder display will show the following:

 e remote control

 e remote control communicates with the decoder

so you need to point the remote at the decoder.

Changing channel is slower with digital television.

Follow the instructions on page 60 to make your

life easier by using only one remote control for

Belgacom TV and your television.

• HD indicates that the content you are watching is being

broadcast in

* (high de nition)

• indicates that a signal is being transmitted.

• REC indicates that a recording is in progress.

ON the left there are 4 lights on the decoder display:

• the

POWER

light  ashes when the decoder is

receiving information from the remote control;

• the SIGNAL light indicates that the decoder is on;

• the HD light indicates that the content you are watching

is being broadcast in

;

• the RECORD light indicates that recording is in progress.

Don't forget to replace the batteries in the

remote control, preferably every year.

Before starting

Belgacom TV

 e Belgacom TV decoder is connected to your television in exactly the same way

asany other device (DVD player, Playstation etc.).

Use the remote control for your television to change to the appropriate source

(Scartor HDMI) and see the Belgacom TV screen.

Only use one remote control!

You can use your remote control to control your

television and your decoder. You must  rst make

yourremote control a universal remote.

Choose your remote control below depending on the type:

• switch your TV on and o using the

button

• switch between the external sources connected to your television using

the

button

• adjust the volume using the

buttons

If the  e indicator is lit, this means that you are controlling

your decoder. If the  e indicator is lit, this means that you can

control your television; press to switch from the TV to the decoder.

Operation

In this instruction manual, various actions are represented by a symbol corresponding

to the buttons on your remote control which you must press:

Navigation

Belgacom TV uses menus for navigation.

A menu is a list of options displayed on

the screen. e arrow buttons allow you

to navigate through the menus and to

make your choice.

- Press to go back (return to the previous page or menu)

- Press

to see the list of channels

You can navigate between most of the

menus and perform all the actions

(record, pause, watch a lm on demand,

change channel, etc. :

1- using the

buttons and the

and buttons on the

remote control

2- the larger section titles show you

where you are;

3- the arrows in the menu show

whereyou can navigate to

(left,right,up, down).

1. Rebooting the decoder

You can scroll through the list of

channels after 3 minutes. About

6minutes later you can navigate

inthemenus.

If you try to do so sooner, the message

shown on the left will be displayed on

your screen.

• reboot Belgacom TV after

apowercut;

• disconnect the cables;

• disconnect the decoder.

2. Switching the decoder on and o

To switch the decoder on and o and

to access Belgacom TV, press the

button.

e picture appears

immediately and you can access the

main menu.

Shortly after switching on the decoder,

the menu bar appears at the bottom of

the screen.

It disappears automatically after

10seconds or as soon as you press the

button on your remote control.

You can change channel using

the number buttons or using the

button.

When you change channel, an information

bar is displayed at the bottom of the

screenwith:

• the channel name;

• the programme name;

• the duration of the programme;

• icons indicating whether the

channel is being broadcast in

(HighDe nition), the duration of the

programme and whether a recording

isin progress or scheduled.

You can  nd the full list of channels in

theTV guide (see page 13).

Press the button while watching

aprogramme.

When you switch on the decoder, the

main menu is displayed for 10 seconds

after which it disappears automatically.

You can then access a wide range

ofchannels.

You can choose between:

• record (see page 27);

• view summary (see page 14);

• pause (see below);

• change the spoken language

ofthe channel (not available

forallchannels).

Press the button or press

twice to pause live television.

e maximum pause duration is

60minutes.

Press the

button to play.

Press the button to continue

watching "live".

What happens if you are interrupted

in the middle of a programme?

Noproblem: Belgacom TV allows

you to stop the programme you are

currently watching at any time or to

rewind upto60minutes.

2. Pause and rewind

Press the button to rewind

(max.60 min.) in the TV programme you

are currently watching. If you change

channel, this option is only possible from

the time you started to watch the TV

programme on the new channel.

Use the and buttons to select

the desired channel.

Press the button.

Press the button to display the

information bar showing the current

programme. Use the and

buttons to see the programmes that

will be broadcast later.

To navigate across channels: use the

and

buttons to toggle between

programmes and channels.

While you are changing channels, an

information bar is displayed at the bottom

of the screen showing the channel, the

programme and the start and end time.

is information bar allows you to record

programmes, to set a reminder and to

view a summary.

You can display the time here.

Use these buttons

to navigate in

the menus.

If you nd the information bar a nuisance while changing channel, you can disable it via the

mainmenu/paramètres/paramètres de l’image.

Once you have selected a programme

(highlighted in white), press the

button to:

• record the programme (see page 27);

• set a reminder (see page 16);

• view the summary (see page 14).

You can select "regarder" to access the

chosen channel.

You can use and to switch from the programme list to the channel list and vice versa.

Press the button to display the

menu bar.

Press and to access your desired

selection. Press the button to

conrm your selection.

Press again to close the menu bar.

Select "guide TV" in the main menu

and press the button.

You can choose to view all the channels

or search for a specic programme.

Select "toutes les chaînes" to access the

main TV Guide. Press the button.

displayed by channel. Use and

to scroll through all the channels

and TV programmes.

You can view TV programmes for the

next 10 days. e following options

appear when you press the button:

• change channel (current programme);

• record (see page 27);

• set reminder (see page 16);

• summary;

• use and to navigate to

thedesired option and press

the button.

Select the date for which you want to

see the TV Guide. Press the button.

Use to navigate more quickly page by page.

2. Search function

Select the TV Guide in the main menu,

then "rechercher" and press the

button.

Select a category (e.g. sport,

currentaairs, lms etc.) and

press the

button.

Enter the title you are looking for using

the remote control in the same way as

you would type an SMS on your mobile

phone. Enter at least three characters.

Use the and buttons to scroll through the various days.

3. Set a reminder

Consider setting a reminder to make

sure you never miss your favourite

TVprogramme.

1 minute before the start of the

programme, a message is displayed on

screen and the decoder automatically

switches to the correct channel.

Select the programme in the TV Guide

and press the button.

Press the

button and select

"acher les résultats". Press the

button to display the results.

Select "rappel".

A con rmation message is displayed.

Select "à la demande" in the main

menu.

 e TV Guide uses the symbol to indicate a reminder.

2. A la demande

Our list of on-demand content is

growing all the time and you can

access a wide range of  lms of every

genre, TV programmes, cult series,

documentaries, concerts, etc.

Select "lms" to choose from

ourcatalogue.

Here too you can navigate in a limited

weekly selection of lms displayed at

the top of the screen.

A selection of lms available on

Belgacom TV is displayed at the

centreof the screen.

Press the button if you want

towatch these lms.
