Harmony Activity Troubleshooter
This troubleshooter is designed to help you resolve any issues with your Harmony Activities. If
you're new to Harmony and need help getting started with your setup, please select your remote
from the product support section of our home page.
If you prefer, you may contact customer support.
Please double-check the manufacturer and model number of the device that is not changing inputs
correctly and confirm that it is the correct manufacturer and model number as entered into the
MyHarmony desktop software.
Finding your device's model number
Different devices change between their inputs in different ways, and Harmony may not know how to
properly control this device. Please confirm how your device changes between its inputs.
Understanding different input changing methods
Tip: When checking how Harmony changes inputs, if the value is set to "I press different buttons that
directly switch..." then we recommend leaving this setting untouched. If it is set to one of the other two
values and is incorrect, please change it.
If this device is connected with an HDMI cable, see if first powers on then powers itself off
again. If so, you may need to disable CEC control.
Understanding HDMI and CEC
If the device doesn't properly switch inputs when first turning on an Activity, you must increase
this device's power-on delay.
Adjusting a device's power on delay
Only devices with power or input commands will be listed. For example, Roku or Apple TV would not be
listed as neither power off or change inputs themselves. Otherwise, it appears this device may not be
configured as part of your Activity and will therefore not be powered on. Harmony will only power on
and control devices that have been included as a device in your Activity.

How to create a Harmony Activity
Harmony allows you to customize each of the buttons on your remote and all commands you see on the
screen. We recommend viewing these support articles:

Different devices change channels in different ways, and Harmony may not know how to properly
control this device. Please confirm that Harmony is changing channels in the correct way.
Adjusting how a device changes channels
If Harmony is sending the same command too many times you will have to decrease command repeats.
Adjusting a device's command repeats
If you must press a button more than once, or hold a button for a long time before your device responds
to a command, you will have to increase command repeats.
