12 Port 10/100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX converters
Fiber media allowed: multimode fiber using ST, SC connector
Support full or half duplex mode on TX port
One push button for uplink (MDI/MDI-X) crossover configuration.
Installation
As with any electric device, you should place the equipment where it will not be subjected to
extreme temperatures, humidity, or electromagnetic interference. Specifically, the site you select
should meet the following requirements:
1. The ambient temperature should be between 32 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit (0 to 40 degrees
Celsius).
2. The relative humidity should be less than 90 percent, non condensing.
3. Surrounding electrical devices should not exceed the electromagnetic field (RFC) standards
for IEC 801 3, Level 2 (3V/M) field strength.
3
4. Make sure that the equipment receives adequate ventilation. Do not block the ventilation
holes on each side of the media converter or the fan exhaust port on the side or rear of the
equipment.
Follow the steps to install the media converter
1. Connect the supplied AC power cords to the receptacles on the rear panel.
2. Attach the plugs from each of the dual power supplies into standard AC outlets with a voltage
range from 100~240V AC.
3. Turn on the media converter by flipping the ON/OFF switches beside the power supplies’
receptacles to the ON position. User could choose to turn on both power supplies. The media
will keep working when either power supply fail. Another way to use the redundant power is
turning on only one power supply. When the power supply fail, turn on the other one.
4. The power LED of each media converter will shine after turning on the Media Converter.
5. The link LED of each media converter will shine after connecting twisted pair copper cabling
between the TX port (or fiber optic cabling between the FX port) and another working
networked device.
6. Adjust the MDI/MDI-X button when different TP cable (Straight-through or Cross-over) is
linking to RJ-45 connector.
7. Please refer to the following table for cable connection.
Port type Cable Type Connector Max. Cable Length
10BASE-T Cat. 3,4,5 UTP RJ-45 100 meters
100BASE-TX Cat. 5 UTP RJ-45 100 meters
100BASE-FX 62.5/125µm or 50/125µm multi-mode fiber ST or SC 2000 meters
