Mini Recorder
The Mini Recorder is a tiny spy camera small enough to t on
the width of your nger. Carry it with you anywhere and always
be ready to record high-quality audio and video with the push
of a button.

Getting Started
The rst step in using your device is charging it. Connect the
device to a USB port on your PC or plug it into AC power with
the included adapter. While charging, the LED indicator will
ash red and will turn off when the battery is full. Before rst
use, we suggest charging the device for 4 hours.
This device does not have internal memory and relies on a
micro SD card for storing recorded les. The micro SD card
should be inserted with the gold contacts facing up. The
Mini Recorder is compatible with micro SD cards up to 16GB
capacity.

To Power On and Off
To Power On the Mini Recorder, push and hold the power
button for 3 seconds. When the device is turned on, the blue
LED light will glow and stay steady. To Power Off the Mini
Recorder, push and hold the power button until the blue LED
light disappears.

Changing the Date & Time
Connect the Mini Recorder to your computer using the USB
cable. Most computers will automatically recognize the device
and a window may pop up with options. Choose the option
to “Open Folder to View Files.” This will take you to the root
directory of the device. Within the root directory, you need
to create a new text le. To do this, right click on an open
area within the root directory window to bring up the context
menu. Then select “New” and choose “Text Document”. This
will generate a new text le in the root directory. Right click on
the new text le and select “Rename”. Change the lename
to “TAG” and hit enter. Now double‐click on the TAG text le
and it will open up a text window. In the text window, type in
the following:

To Record
When the Mini Recorder is powered on, press the record
button to begin recording. When the device is recording, the
blue LED light will glow and stay steady with a ashing purple
LED light. To stop the recording, press the Record button
again. The ashing purple LED light will disappear leaving just
the blue steady glow indicating that the device has stopped
recording and has returned to stand by.
Replace the YYYY with the 4 digit year, MM with the 2
digit month, and DD with the 2 digit date, HH with the 2
digit hour, MM with the 2 digit minute, and SS with 2 digit
second. When done, click on “File” on the menu bar and
select “Save”. Now you can safely disconnect your Mini
Recorder from your computer. Power On the device and it
will save the text le you create and adjust the time/date
stamp on the future recordings.

To Enable Sound-Activated Recording
When the Mini Recorder is powered on, push the mode button
and Sound Activation Recording will be enabled. When device
detects sounds higher than 60 decibels, it will begin recording.
When the device is recording, the blue LED light will glow and
stay steady with a ashing purple LED light. To stop recording,
push the record button twice. The ashing purple LED light will
disappear leaving just the blue steady glow indicating that the
device has stopped recording and has returned to standby.
When Sound Activation Recording is enabled, the Mini Re-
corder will record in 2 Minute Segments. After 2 minutes, if
there is no more sound, the Mini Recorder will stop and save
the recording. If there is still sound, the Mini Recorder will
continue to record.

Auto Power Off
When the Mini Recorder is recording and runs out of power it
will automatically save the recording before it powers off.
When the micro sd card is lled to capacity, the device will
automatically save the recording before it powers off.
If the device stays in standby without operation, it will auto-
matically power off after 45 seconds to preserve battery.

Viewing Recorded Files
To view recorded les, connect the Mini Recorder to your
computer using the USB cable. Most computers will automati-
cally recognize the device and a window may pop up with op-
tions. Choose the option to “Open Folder to View Files”. This
will take you to the root directory of the device. Within the root
directory, double click on the “DCIM” folder. Your recorded
les are stored within the “100MEDIA” folder.
You can also go to “MY COMPUTER” or “COMPUTER” on
your Desktop or Start Menu. From there, your device will show
as a “Removable Disk Drive”. Once you’re in the root directory
of the device, follow the above steps.

NOTE: It is best to transfer the recorded les to your computer
before viewing. Playing the recorded les through the Mini
Recorder while it’s connected to the computer might cause the
video to display as delayed or choppy.
You can view your recorded les using your PC’s media player.
If you are having problems viewing your recorded les, we rec-
ommend downloading VLC Media Player at www.videolan.org.

Troubleshooting
Problem: The device is “stuck” with the LED light on and is not
responding to any buttons.
Solution: This issue occurs most commonly when the device
is given too many commands too quickly (rapidly pressing the
power button repeatedly). This can cause it to freeze up. If this
occurs, use a paperclip or other small object to gently push the
Reset button. Then try operating the device again.
Problem: The device is not being recognized by your computer.
Solution: Check the micro SD card to see that it has been in-
serted properly. Disconnect and wait 30 seconds before recon-
necting, or try a different USB port on the computer.
