Don't open the cabinet of this unit. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified
personnel only.
Switch off the unit when you don't use it. Switch off the unit and disconnect it from the AC power
supply when it is not being used for a long time. (Plug, as the disconnected device entirely with power
source, should keep in easy-to-operation in daily life.)

Don't make all the connections above at the same time, otherwise the produced pictures will be affected.
Only when the video setting conforms to the practical video system connection can the unit produce the normal

System Setup
1. Press [SETUP] on the remote control to show the SETUP MENU.
2. Press [ ]/[ ] to select GENERAL SETUP PAGE, AUDIO SETUP PAGE, DOLBY DIGITAL SETUP, VIDEO SETUP
PAGE or PREFERENCE PAGE. The submenu of the selected item will be listed below instantly.
3. Press [ ]/[ ] to move the highlight in the submenu to select an item you desire to set, then press [Enter]/[ ] to
enter. Use [ ]/[ ] to select an option, then press [ENTER] to confirm it, or press [ ] to cancel.
4. Then you can press [ ]/[ ] to continue to set other items in the submenu.
5. Press [ ] to go back to the parental menu of the current one.
6. Press [SETUP] again to exit SETUP MENU.
1 GENERAL SETUP PAGE
There are five items in the submenu. They are TV DISPLAY, ANGLE MARK, OSD LANGUAGE, CLOSED
CAPTIONS, SCREEN SAVER.
1.1 TV Display:
4:3 PAN SCAN:
When the unit is connected to a normal TV set, the wide-screen image will be shown on the screen in proportion
with some part on the left and right cut off.
4:3 LETTERBOX:
When the unit is connected to a normal TV set, the wide-screen image will be completely shown on the screen in
proportion with two black bars on the top side and bottom side.
16:9:
When the unit is connected to a wide-screen TV set, select this option. The wide-screen image will be completely
shown on the screen in proportion.
1.2 ANGLE MARK:
Set this item to ON. When the disc with multiple camera angles is playing, an angle mark will displayed on the
screen. Then you can view the video of different camera angles by pressing [ANGLE] on the remote control.
Set this item to OFF to hide the angle mark.
1.3 OSD (On Screen Dislay) LANGUAGE:
You can select an OSD language in this item.

There are two items in the submenu. They are ANALOG AUDIO SETUP, DIGITAL AUDIO SETUP.

3.1.1 DUAL MONO
Stereo: Set audio output to the stereo output.
L-mono: Set audio output to the mono-left channel.
Some discs have closed captions. Set this item to ON to show the closed captions if the playing disc has closed
captions. Set this item to OFF to hide closed captions.
You can also press [SUBTITLE] on the remote control to show/hide the closed captions.
ON: When the player stops or the picture becomes motionless for some time, there will be a screen saver to
prevent damage to the display screen. Press [STANDBY] either on the remote control or on the main unit to switch
off the unit.
OFF: Disable the screen saver function.
When you play the 5.1-CH disc, the audio is mixed into left channel and right channel.
When you play the 5.1-CH disc, the audio is mixed into stereo channel.
SPDIF OFF: There will be no digital audio signal output.
ALL: The digital audio signal output will be in RAW format.
PCM ONLY: The digital audio signal output will be in PCM format.

R-mono: Set audio output to the mono-right channel.
Mix-mono: Set audio output to the Mix mono channel.
3.1.2 DYNAMIC
When you watch films with large dynamic scope in low volume, for example at night, you can adjust the dynamic
value up to avoid losing sound details resulted from the low volume.
4 VIDEO SETUP PAGE
4.1 VIDEO OUTPUT:
OFF: Set video output to the composite.
YUV: Set video output in analog component video format when connecting to the Y/U/V terminals.
P_YUV: Set video output as progressive YUV signals. Connection is the same as YUV.
RGB: Set video output in Red/Green/Blue format when connecting to the SCART terminal.
P_RGB: Set video output as progressive RGB signals. Connection is the same as RGB.
Note:: If the video setting differs from the physical video connection, the TV set may have no picture.
You can also press [V-mode] on the remote controller to switch the video output mode.
4.2 SHARPNESS
There are three options (HIGH, MEDIUM and LOW) for you to choose in this item.
4.3 BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST
Enter the two items respectively, then use direction key [Left]/[Right] to adjust the value, then press [ENTER] to
confirm it.
5. PREFERENCE SETUP
This item is available only when there s no disc in the disc tray or the disc tray is open.
There eight items in this item. They are TV TYPE, AUDIO, SUBTITLE, DISC MENU, PARENTAL, PASSWORD,
DEFAULT and SHADOW TO FLASH.

5.1 TV TYPE
This product supports both NTSC(National Television System Committee) and PAL (Phase Alternating Line)
television broadcasting standards.
PAL : This is used in China, Hongkong and Europe etc.
MULTI: When this option is selected, the uni t will detect the standard automatically.
NTSC: This is used in Taiwan, America and Canada etc.
Note: If a wrong selection is made, the viewing image will be very poor. In such case, you are supposed to change
the option in this item to fix the error.
5.2 AUDIO, SUBTITLE and DISC MENU
Select a(n) audio/subtitle/ disc menu language by your preference.
You can also make these selections by pressing [Audio]/[Subtitle] on the remote controller.
Note: If the selected language is not available for the disc currently being played, the disc default audio/subtitle
language setting works.
5.3 PARENTAL
This item allows the user to set a maximum rating of the movies that can be viewed. Movies rated higher than the
level set for the parental lock can not be viewed.
And, to key in the correct password is needed to reset the level. The initial factory password is 136900.
Note: The parental function needs support of the playing disc.
5.4 PASSWORD
You can reset the password in this item.
Note: The initial factory password(136900) works at any time. So if you forget the password you set, you can use it.
5.5 DEFAULT
Resume to the initial factory settings.
5.6 SHADOW TO FLASH
Save your settings.

Install the batteries into the remote control. Point the remote control at the remote sensor on the
front panel. The remote control works within about 8 metres from the sensor and within an angle of
about 30 degrees from the left and right side.
Take out of the batteries when it is not being used for a long time.
Don't expose the sensor in direct sunlight.
Not e:
Don not mix the old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
Weak batteries can leak and severely damage the remote control.

Playback
After all the connections have been made correctly, the unit is ready for service.
1. Switch on the TV and select AV mode. Select S-video if you made S-Video connection.
2. Switch on the power amplifier if the unit's connected to it.
3. Switch on the DVD player. The unit will automatically load the disc if there it is in the disc tray and
will show 'No Disc' on the screen if there isn't any.
Select AC-3 or DVD mode.
Press this button to enter an item or confirm your operation etc.
ENTER
Use the digit keys to input the corresponding numbers.
When playing VCD1.1, CD, mp3 disc etc., after loading the disc, use the digit key to select the desired
folder, track or file directly.
If the a VCD is currently playing, press this button show the GOTO menu. You can use digit keys to
input the Track, Disc Time and Track Time from which the unit will skip to play. Press this button again to
exit it.
If the a DVD is currently playing, press this button select a chapter to play.
Press this button to pause the playing disc. Press [ ]or [ ] to continue.
Note: Being in the standby mode uses a minimal amount of electricity, but ensures that the components
of the unit operate at maximum efficiency from the moment you start.

Press this button to play the disc if it is not in normal playing status.
Press this button for fast forward playback.

When a disc is currently playing, press this button to pause it and press [ ] to resume playing from the
position where you stopped playback; press this button twice to stop the disc and the disc is reset to the
start.
Press VOLUME +/- to adjust the volume.

When a DVD is currently playing, press this button to return to the title menu.
TITLE
If the playing disc has multi subtitles, you can select a subtitle language by pressing this button.
SUBTITLE
If the playing disc has multi sound tracks or multi languages, you can select an audio language by
pressing this button.

Skip to the previous chapter/track.

Some discs include scenes recorded in multiple camera angles. Press this button switch the camera

Press this button to switch the video output modes .
V-MODE
When the disc tray is open, press this button to resume the default settings.
RESET
When a DVD, MPEG4 or VCD disc is currently playing, you can view the video frame by frame by
pressing this button. Press [ ] to exit.
STEP
When a DVD, SVCD, MPEG4 or VCD disc is currently playing, press [ZOOM] to zoom in/out the scene.
When the scene is zoomed in, you can use the direction keys to move the scene.
ZOOM
When a DVD disc is currently playing, press this button continually to switch between CHAPTER,
TITLE and ALL.
When a MP3/CD disc is currently playing, press this button continually to switch between SINGLE,
REPEAT ONE, REPEAT FOLDER and FOLDER.
When a VCD disc is currently playing, press this button continually to switch between TRACK and ALL.
REPEAT
Press this button for slow-motion playback. Press [ ] to resume to normal playback.
SLOW
It works as [PBC] for VCD2.0 disc and SVCD, etc. Press it to show or hide the PBC menu.
When a DVD is currently playing, press this button to return to the main menu.

You can repeat a specific section of a disc.
When a DVD or CD disc is currently playing, press this button to mark down the starting point (A) and
press it again to mark down the ending point (B). Then, the unit will playback this section over and over
again. Press it for the third time to cancel repeat.

PICTURE CD PLAYBACK
MP3/MPEG4 PLAYBACK
Place a MP3/MPEG4 disc in the disc tray, then a menu will be displayed on the screen showing the contents in
the disc.
Use the direction keys to move the highlight on a folder or track/file, then press [ENTER] to play the selected
folder or track.
You can also use the digit keys on the remote controller to implement this operation. For example, press '0' and '1',
then press [Enter] to play the first track/file or folder.
Note: For some discs, select a folder and press [ENTER] or select the folder with the digit keys is to enter the
corresponding folder instead of to play the folder.
When the disc is playing,
press [ ]/[ ] to skip to the next/previous track/file;
press [ ]/[ ] for fast forward/reverse;
press [ ]/[ ] to pause/play the disc;
press [ ] to pause the disc; press it twice to stop the disc.
press direction key [ ] to return to the previous menu.
Place a Picture CD in the disc tray, then a menu will be displayed on the screen showing the contents in the disc.
Use the direction keys to move the highlight on a photo file, then press [ ]/[ENTER] to play the picture CD.
When a picture CD is playing, you can

press [ ] to pause the disc.
when a picture CD is currently playing, press [MENU] to return to the previous menu.
When a picture CD is playing, you can use the direction keys to rotate the photo.

U-Drive Playback:
Insert a U-drive into the USB interface on the front panel.
The unit will automatically play the readable files, for example MP3 and MPEG4, in it. (If a disc is
currently playing , you need to press [USB] and select USB to play the U-drive.)
