WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or product damage, do not expose the unit to
sunbeams, rain, moisture, dripping or splashing and don’t let objects filled with liquids, such as vase, be
placed on the unit.
CAUTION!
 Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, build-in cabinet or in another confined space. Ensure
the unit is well ventilated. To prevent risk of electric shock or fire hazard due to overheating, ensure
that newspapers, tablecloths, curtains and any other materials do not cover the ventilation vents.
 Do not place sources of open flame, such as lighted candles, on the unit.
 Dispose of batteries in an environmentally friendly manner.
Voltage: Use current source with voltage ~100-240 V, otherwise grid overload may arise, which can entail
fire. Don’t use constant-current source.
Supply-line cord protection: Make sure that the cord is right connected and does not have any damage.
Incorrect attachment and damage of cord may cause fire and electrical shock.
Service: Do not try to eliminate breakages by your own. When the sound is off, the indicator does not
light, the smoke appears or any other troubles take place, which were not mentioned in this manual, please,
call your dealer or service center.

Hyundai DVD Micro System is a new generation micro system, which can produce high quality video and
audio. Its performance is much better than that of any previous home video playing equipment, it will give
you the uppermost enjoyment!

within 30 degree at left or right side.

Disc features
Different DVD discs have different combination of features, this is because of the different design created
by the order and manufacturer, and the following symbols indicate some features of the DVD disc.

Handling discs
 When holding discs, please hold it by its rim.
 When holding discs, be sure the label side should be upwards
 Do not grasp the non-label side of the disc.
Disc storage
 Never store disc in the place with high temperature, strong light or humidity.
 Put the disc back to the case after playback.
Cleaning
 Wipe the discs from time to time using a soft cloth. Always wipe from the center towards the edge.
 Do not use daily used detergent to clean the disc.
 Protect discs against any fingerprint, do not stick or white anything on the surface of the disc.

Disc Terms
Title
Generally, pictures or music compressed on a DVD are divided into several sections that is “title”.
Chapter
The smaller section unit of picture or music in a DVD under the title, usually one title is comprised of one
or more chapters and each of them is numbered for easy searching. But some discs may not have a
recording chapter.
Track
A fragment of picture or music on an SVCD, VCD or CD disc. Each track is numbered for searching.
Scene
VCD with playback control function, on which active and stillness picture divided into certain portions is
called scene, and every scene will be showed on screen menu with a scene number that can be easily found
while on playing. A scene usually is formed with one or several tracks.
PBC function (SVCD, VCD)
If a SVCD or a VCD is played a content menu may be showed on screen, this is what is called “Play back
control” viz. PBC function.

Connection
Video system connection
There are four types of video outputs available for this unit.
TV/Monitor video output

Composite video
 Use the cable with yellow plug to connect the composite video output of this unit to the video input of
a TV/monitor
S-video output
 Use the S-Video cable to connect the S-video output of the unit to S-video input of a TV/monitor.
Component video (YUV or Y/Pb/Pr)
 Use the three cables of A/V cable to connect component output to the corresponding inputs of
TV/monitor.
SCART
 Use a 21-pin SCART cable to connect the SCART output to the TV/monitor SCART input terminal.
Note: Do not connect all the video outputs at the same time, otherwise the image will be affected.

Audio system connection
Audio output of the unit includes the analog audio and the digital audio. The analog audio is two channel
Audio, the digital audio is coaxial, and the sound effect is much better when the coaxial output is used.

Stereo audio
 Use a pair of audio cable (red for right/white for left) to connect the audio input of the TV or power
amplifier to the audio output of this unit.

 Use the specified coaxial cable to connect the coaxial output of this unit to the coaxial input of power
Amplifier
Speaker output
 Use the specified cable in the accessories to connect this unit to the input of sound boxes.
Note: The physical connection should accord to the audio output setup of this unit. Please refer to Audio
Setup in System Setup.

System setup
1. Press SETUP button to enter the setup menu. In Setup mode, press SETUP button again to quit the
setup page.
2. Use the LEFT/ RIGHT buttons to choose the setup page: General setup page, Audio setup page, Video
setup page, Preference page, Password setup, Exit.
3. Press the DOWN button to enter the setup page selected.
4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select the option you want to adjust.
5. Press RIGHT to enter the adjustment list. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select the adjustment and
press ENTER button to confirm and LEFT button to return to options list.
6. To return to setup page list press the LEFT button in the options list.
Note: Some setup items are concerning the present modes. The items in gray can't be set up.
The setup is memorized and kept after power off.
General setup page
 TV DISPLAY
4:3 PanScan: When the unit connects to the normal TV set, the wide-screen image shows on the full
screen, but some part is cut off.
4:3 LetterBox: When the unit connects to the normal TV set, the wide-screen image shows and black bars
appear on the top and bottom of screen.
16:9: Use this item when the unit is connected with the wide screen TV set.
Wide squeeze: Use this item when the unit is connected with the normal TV set, if you want to squeeze the
picture.
 ANGLE MARK
It will show the angle mark when playing DVD disc with multi-angle view if selecting On.
 OSD LANGUAGE
Select on-screen display language: English, Russian.
 CLOSED CAPTIONS
This function doesn't work when the disc without caption. If the caption is Off, press SUBTITLE button
on the remote controller to make caption on. The default setup is On.
 SCREEN SAVER
If the Screen saver is set On and the unit is switched on without a disc playing for several minutes, a
moving picture appears on the screen, and the unit will go to standby mode after 20 minutes. You can
press STANDBY button on the remote controller to wake it up.

 LAST MEMORY
When this function is on, the unit can memorize the time elapsed from the last time you played the disc.
When playing next time, it will resume playing from the memorized time.
Audio setup
Analog audio setup page
 DOWNMIX
LT/RT: The audio out is Left and Right channels format even if the original sound is 5.1CH format.
Stereo: The audio out format is stereo even if the original sound is 5.1CH format.
Digital audio setup
 DIGITAL OUTPUT
SPDIF off: no digital signal out (coaxial output off), only analog audio output.
All: digital signal output in the original format recorded in the disc.
PCM only: digital signal output in the decoded PCM form.

 LPCM OUTPUT
Select PCM frequency at 48 kHz or 96 kHz
Note: Some amplifiers don't support 96 kHz sampling and cause coaxial output abnormal. The initial
factory setup is 48 kHz.
Dolby digital setup
 DUAL MONO
Stereo: stereo output signal,
L-Mono: left output signal,
R-Mono: right output signal,
Mix-Mono: left and right output average signal.
 DYNAMIC
If watching large dynamic scope movie program at night, to select this mode you can reduce the volume to
a very low level, at the same time, to keep the fine details sounds. In this case, this doesn't disturb the
family and keep the quality sounds.
HDCD
You can select the digital filter Off, 1x, 2x. The initial factory setup is 1x.
Karaoke setup
Set the microphone ON or OFF and adjust the microphone volume and echo level.
Video setup
 VIDEO OUTPUT
OFF: set video output to the composite.
YUV: set video output in analog component video format when connecting to Y/U/V terminals
P-YUV: set progressive YUV signals. Connection same as YUV.
RGB: set video output in Red/Green/Blue format when connecting to SCART terminals.
P-RGB: progressive RGB signals. Connection same as RGB.
Note: If the video setting differs with the physical connection, the screen may be without picture. In case
of no picture, you can reset the unit, then keep pressing V-MODE button until the picture is OK again.

 COLOR SETTING:
You can set the Sharpness, Brightness, Contrast, Gamma, Hue, Saturation, Luma delay according to your
preference.
Preference setup
 TV TYPE
This unit is suitable for all kinds of TV systems. You can select one of the PAL, NTSC or Multi.
Multi: the TV system is auto switched according to the disc system.
NTSC: this system is used in USA, Taiwan, Japan etc.
PAL: this system is used in China, Europe, Hong Kong etc.
 PBC
If a SVCD or a VCD is played a content menu may be showed on screen, this is what is called Play back
control “ viz. PBC function.
 AUDIO, SUBTITLE, DISC MENU LANGUAGE SETUP
These are the initial settings by your preference. If a setting is supported by disc content, it will work.
Otherwise the disc default value works. And these settings can be changed respectively by press the
AUDIO and SUBTITLE buttons when playing.
 PARENTAL
The control level is for parental to control playing content and protect your children from violence and
erotic. The disc, the level of which is higher than the setting level cannot be played.
 DEFAULT
Reset to the initial factory setups
Password setup
Change the password. The initial factory password is 136900. You can set your own password. If you
forget your own password, you can use 136900 as general password.

Functions
OPEN/CLOSE
 Press OPEN/CLOSE button when power on, the disc tray is pushed out. Put the disc on the tray with
the title faced up. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the disc tray and the unit starts playing
automatically. (Without auto-play function for MP3 and JPEG discs).
STANDBY
 When playing, press STANDBY button, the unit will be powered-off and go to standby state; Press
STANDBY again, the unit will be switched on and start playing.
Warning: The power is not fully cut off at standby state. If the unit will not be used for a long time,
switch off the unit by pressing POWER switch on the rear panel.
SOURCE SELECT
 You can switch among various signal sources by pressing SOURCE SELECT button on the RC or
SOURCE on the front panel.
TITLE/AM/FM
 When playing DVD disc, press TITLE/AM/FM button to open the title list (for some players to open
the title menu).
 In Radio mode press TITLE/AM/FM button to choose band – AM or FM.
V-MODE (or SWITCH)
 Press V-MODE button to switch the video output mode (YUV-RGB, etc.)
AUDIO/MEMORY
 When playing DVD with more than one audio language, press AUDIO/MEMORY button to select
audio language you desired.
 In Radio mode use this button to save the current station into the player memory.
SUBTITLE/AUTO
 When playing the disc with multi-subtitle function, press SUBTITLE/AUTO to select the subtitle
language.
 In Radio receiving mode use this button to automatically adjust and save all stations with strong
signal.
ANGLE
 When playing the disc with multi-angle, press ANGLE button to change the view angle.
MENU/MO/ST
 When playing DVD disc, press MENU/MO/ST button once to open the disc menu.
 In Radio mode use this button to select the Mono or Stereo mode.
CH PREV/NEXT
 In Radio mode CH PREV/NEXT buttons for manual adjustment of stations with strong signal.
 When playing DVD disc, press PREV to go to the previous chapter.
 When playing SVCD, VCD, CD disc, press PREV to go to the previous track.
 When playing DVD disc, press NEXT to go to the next chapter.
 When playing SVCD, VCD, CD disc, press NEXT to go to the next track.

STOP
 When playing DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD disc, press STOP button once, the unit will memorize the
previous ending point. Press PLAY/PAUSE button to continue playback. Press STOP button for the
second time to stop the play and end memory.
PLAY/PAUSE
 When playing the disc, press PLAY/PAUSE button once to pause, press PLAY/PAUSE button again
to return to normal play.
SEARCH (F.FWD/REW)
 Press these buttons for quick forward or quick rewind search
PROGRAM
 If the disc has 2 or more tracks, chapters or titles, set up the playing order to your preference. Press
PROG button to enter program menu.
 Press digit button to input the number of the track, title or chapter. If the programmed tracks are over
ten, press NEXT to go on programming (Maximum 20 programmable items). Use cursor buttons to
move the cursor to the START. Press ENTER button to start PROGRAM play.
 When playing MP3 disc, programming is not available.
REPEAT
 Press REPEAT button to repeat a title, chapter, track or the whole disc.
 When playing DVD disc, press REPEAT button continually, the TV screen shows chapter repeat, title
repeat, all repeat, repeat cancel in turn
 When playing SVCD, VCD, CD disc, the turn is: track repeat, all repeat, repeat cancel.
 When playing MP3 disc press REPEAT button to activate different repeat modes.
A - B
 When playing DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD disc, press A-B button to repeat a certain contents.
 Press A-B button on the start point (A) and the ending point (B) to select the repeat part.
 Press A-B the third time, cancel A-B repeat and return to normal play
ZOOM
 When playing DVD, SVCD, VCD disc, press ZOOM to zoom in or zoom out the picture.
 In zoom in mode, press cursor to move the picture for viewing. The picture cannot be moved in zoom
out mode.
S.EFFECT
 Press S.EFFECT button to change the surround sound (DSP) effect.
VOL
 Press VOL + to adjust volume up
 Press VOL - to adjust volume down
MUTE
 Press MUTE button, no sound will be heard and the mute symbol will display on the TV screen. Press
MUTE again, and the sound will resume.
OSD
 Press the OSD button, the relative information of the disc will display on the TV screen.

SETUP
 Press the SETUP button, the on-screen setting menu will display on the TV screen.
CH-LEVEL
 Press this button to select a channel then press VOL buttons to adjust its level.

 Put the disc that supports PBC function into unit, press PBC button, TV display will show menu. You
can change the page using CH PREV or NEXT buttons until you choose menu picture or title number
that you need, then press the number button to choose. When PBC is turned off, disc will play
according original order (This function is only available in discs that support VCD2.0).
TONE
 Press TONE button to select bass or treble frequency, and then press VOL buttons to change the
volume of the selected frequency.
GOTO
 Press GOTO button to select title time, chapter time, track time to play. You can use digit buttons to
input the goto time.
USB
 Insert the USB device into the slot on the front panel. Press USB button to play content of the USB
device.
STEP
 When playing DVD, SVCD, VCD disc, press STEP button once, the picture changes to next frame.
Press PLAY/PAUSE button to resume normal play.

Radio operations
 Please connect FM/AM antenna to the jacks on rear panel.
 Press SOURCE SELECT button on the RC or SOURCE on the front panel until you enter Radio
system, and press TITLE/AM/FM button to choose FM or AM range.
 Manual adjustment. Press CH PREV/NEXT buttons or SEARCH (F.FWD/REW) button to enable
adjustment of radio stations.
 Automatic adjustment. Press and hold SUBTITLE/AUTO button, the tuner will automatically find the
radio stations. After finding the station, the radio frequency will be shown on DVD-player display.
 This unit can memorize 80 radio stations (FM/AM)
 If you want to save radio station in memory, you need to choose the memory item with CH
PREV/NEXT buttons. In manual or automatic mode find the radio station you want to save. Then
press MEMORY/AUDIO button, and after it input the corresponding number to save the station.
 Repeat all above-note functions to memorize other radio stations.
 If you want to listen to a radio station that you have memorized, press CH PREV/NEXT buttons and
choose the necessary channel.
MP3 playback
 MP3 is the third audio compression format of international standard MPEG, which compresses the
audio signal at the rate of 12:1. Using MP3 format, one disc can contain more than 600 minutes of
music, the timbre of which is similar with that of CD discs.
 There are many different formats for storing MP3 songs. Usually, one MP3 disc includes many folders
(directories) and every folder includes files (songs).
 Use the UP/DOWN cursor buttons to select the directory you want and press the ENTER button to
enter. Press the ENTER button to play the file you selected.
Play picture disc
 When picture disc menu appears on the TV screen, press cursor buttons to choose the needed folder,
then press ENTER, PLAY/PAUSE button to enter the selected folder.
 Select the needed file in the folder and press ENTER, PLAY/PAUSE button to playback the file.
 Press STOP button, 12 small pictures will be shown on the TV screen.
 Press UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT cursor buttons to select the desired picture.
 Use UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT cursor buttons to select SLIDE SHOW, then press PLAY/PAUSE
button to start random playing.
 Use UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT cursor buttons to MENU, the press PLAY/PAUSE button to enter
button function menu.

Also you can choose the following functions:
[STOP]: entering picture thumbnail mode;
[PREV]: previous picture;
[NEXT]: next picture;
[PLAY/PAUSE]: to play picture or pause picture;
Select CONTINUE to go to the next menu page.
[ZOOM]: change zoom mode;
[F.FWD]: zoom in picture;
[REW]: zoom out picture;
[LEFT/RIGHT]: move zoom center during zoom in picture.
Select EXIT MENU to exit.

SD/USB
Insert a USB drive in the USB port, then press USB button to play the readable files in it. Press USB
button again to switch to the DVD mode.
Insert a SD, MS or a MMC card into the SD/MMC/MS card slot, then press USB button to play readable
files in it.
Press USB button again to switch to the DVD mode.
Note: If a USB drive and a memory card are inserted at the same time, press USB button once to select
USB and press it twice to select memory card. Press it for the third time to return to the DVD mode.
Karaoke function
Set the item MIC to ON and set MIC VOL to a low level in the karaoke setup menu. Insert a microphone
into the microphone socket on the rear panel. Adjust the microphone volume and echo to your desired level
in the karaoke setup menu. Place a karaoke disc in the disc tray. Press AUDIO button to include or
eliminate the original singing voice.
