1. Introduction
In accordance with Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) Annex I, the InPro
®
7100 conductivity sensor
is classied in Device Group II Category 1/2 G, which according to Directive RL 99/92/EC
(ATEX 137) may be used in zones 0/1 or 0/2 or 1/2 and with gas groups IIAand IIB, which
have potentially explosive atmospheres due to ammable materials in the range of tempera-
ture classes T3 to T6.
It must be installed and used in compliance with the requirements of EN 60079-14.
The ISM
®
measurement circuit is part of a common intrinsically safe system and is connect-
ed to and operated with a separately certied transmitter.
As part of an intrinsically safe system, the ISM measurement circuit has safe galvanic isolation
at the transmitter from circuits that are not intrinsically safe up to the peak value of a nominal
voltage of 375 V and from earthed parts up to the peak value of a nominal voltage of 30 V.
2. Rated parameters

The effective internal inductance and capacitance are negligible. The value above apply, each
as the sum of all the individual circuits of the associated intrinsically safe supply and evalu-
ation unit.
3. Special conditions
3.1 The relationship between the maximum permissible ambient or media temperature and tem-
perature class is shown in the following table:

3.2 For installation, the system drawing and wiring diagrams of the measurement systems should
be observed.
3.3 In areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, the InPro 7100/12/***/**** conductivity
sensor may only be used in suitable process ttings made by METTLER TOLEDO or other
manufacturers.
3.4 The capacitance and inductance of the connecting cable must be taken into account in the
design.
3.5 In areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, InPro 7100/12/***/**** conductivity sensor
can be used in/with the InFit
®
76*-*** or InTrac
®
7**-*** ttings or in / with other suitable
ttings. If necessary, this tting must be included in the periodic pressure testing of the system
or facility.
3.6 The independent process tting used for the installation of the conductivity sensor must be
electrically connected to the potential equalization system of the system or facility, and if
necessary it must be included in the periodic pressure testing of the system or facility.
3.7 To ensure safe working conditions in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, the min-
imum conductivity of the media must always be greater than 1 nS / cm.

USA, European Union and a further ve countries.
