To streamline BCD’s range of display wall controllers, the former product
lines Argus and Eos have been merged and renamed into one single
product family, TransForm A. As of now, the merger is finally completed
by adjusting also the article descriptions.
Update
TransForm A - product renaming completed
Overview
Already during the past months, the T
RANSFORM A name was introduced as an alias for ARGUS
and E
OS systems.
All instances of the affected products have been changed to show the T
RANSFORM A name
instead of E
OS and ARGUS. This includes the imprint on the housings, manuals, brochure,
Internet, PartnerZone, certificates, etc.
As a final step now also the article names and descriptions in BFO and BaaN reflect the
change. All order related documents further on will be using the T
RANSFORM A names and
descriptions.
Naming conventions
The new names all start with T
RANSFORM A and are followed by the known descriptive name
for the components. In anticipation of the soon-to-come T
RANSFORM A OMNIBUS A 12 the
identifier A 18 was added as extension to the re-named T
RANSFORM A OMNIBUS.
For examples see the article numbers list at the end of this document.
System units
The former two types of “base units”, the A
RGUS PROCESSOR and the EOS BASE UNIT are now
merged into one unit, the T
RANSFORM A PROCESSOR.
The T
RANSFORM A PROCESSOR is identical to the former ARGUS PROCESSOR and downwards
compatible to the E
OS BASE UNIT. Every TRANSFORM A Processor can either be used universally
in a Processor-only configuration or connected to up to 5 O
MNIBUS devices.
Base software licenses
On the occasion of the renaming, the base software licensing policy for T
RANSFORM A became
simplified again. Now there are just two types of base licenses.
The T
RANSFORM A Base License is applicable for OmniBus configurations and for any type of
distributed X.11 configurations whereas the T
RANSFORM A Base License P is applicable for
small Processor-only configurations (incl. T
RANSFORM A Extender).
All T
RANSFORM A systems require necessarily one of the base licenses!
In addition to the base license, per channel one T
RANSFORM A Output License is required (thus
the number of T
RANSFORM A Output Licenses is equal the number of projectors connected to
the T
RANSFORM A display wall controller).
