ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
RULES FOR SAFE OPERATION
The following safety precautions are suggested. This
broadcastspreaderisdesigned,engineeredandtestedto
offerreasonablysafeandeffectiveservice,provideditis
operatedinstrictaccordancewiththeseinstructions.Failure
todosomayresultinpersonalinjury.Alwaysobservethe
rules of safe operation.
1. Donotallowanyonetooperatethespreaderwithout
proper instructions.
2. Donotpermitchildrentooperatethespreader.
3. Weareyeandhandprotectionwhenhandlingandwhen
applyinglawnorgardenchemicals.
4. Readthelabelinstructionsandcautionsforhandling
andapplyingthechemicalspurchasedforspreading.
5. Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesureequipment
isinsafeworkingcondition.
6. Follow maintenance and lubrication instructions as
outlinedinthismanual.
HOw TO USE YOUR SPREADER
1. Pivot the handle up into the operating position and
tightenthetwowingnuts.
2. Thisunitwillcovera4to8footwideareadepending
onthematerialusedandwalkingthespeedofuser.
3. Check the listing on the material package or in the
RecommendedSpreaderSettingsinstructionsheetfor
theproperspreadersettingandapplicationrate.
4. Beforellingthespreader,pushthecontrollevertothe
"OFF" position.
5. Movespreaderontoaatsurface-eitherawalkora
driveway-andll.
6. Slide the Adjustable Stop to the desired setting.
7. Start the spreader in motion, then move the control
lever forward against the adjustable stop to begin
spreading.
NOTE: Always place control leverin the"OFF"position
whilellingspreaderandwhenstoppingorturningtoprevent
excessfertilizerfrombeingreleased.
APPLICATION TIPS
1. Toavoidmissesorstriping,makeeachpassabout5feet
fromthepreviousonesosomeoverlappingofspread
pattern does occur.
2. For easiest application, spread across the shortest
edges of lawn rst, makingtwo"header" stripsfora
turningarea,andthenspreadingbetweentheheader
strips.Seegure1.
3. Iflawnisoddshaped,spreadaborderaroundtheedges
andthenspreadbetweentheborder.Seegure2.
4. Keepwheelapproximately4feetfromanyareayoudo
notwishtospread.
IMPORTANT: Be careful when using spreader around
ornamental plants because weed controls can damage
theseplants.
MAINTENANCE
1. Alwaysemptyspreaderaftereachuse,storingleftover
materialinit'soriginalbag.
2. Wash the spreader and dry thoroughly after each
use.
3. Applyafewdropsofoiltoallmovingparts.
4. Tightenallnutsandscrewsbeforeeachuse.
ADJUSTING THE FLOw RATE SETTING
1. Loosen the wing nut that fastens the control to the
handle.
2. Slide the Adjustable stop to the desired setting and
retightenthewingnut.
