1.2Intendeduse
TheIDCcanbeusedtoassigncontrolofthepowerwheelchairfrom
thedrivertoanattendant.TheIDCisnotsuitableforthewheelchair
driverhimself.Theattendantwalksbehindortothesideofthe
wheelchair,andcanintuitivelydeterminespeedanddirectionof
movementbypressingahandlewithminimumforce.Adjustments
canalsobemadetothewheelchairusingdedicatedprogramming.
OnceheactivatestheIDC,theattendanttakesovercomplete
responsibilityforthewheelchairanditsdriver.TheIDCcanonlybe
usedinconnectionwiththemasterremoteonthewheelchair,andis
restrictedtoACS/ACS2electronics.

TheIDCcanbeusedirrespectiveofwhetherthewheelchairhas
directorindirectsteering.
Whichelectronicsystemsistheattendantcontrol
compatiblewith?
TheIDCisonlycompatiblewithwheelchairswhichusethe
ACS/ACS2systemsincespecialconnectionsneedtobeavailable.The
IDCattendantcontrolonlyfunctionsinconnectionwithamaster
remote.ContactyourInvacare®dealerformoreinformation.
SwitchingbetweenIDCandmasterremote
TheIDCisswitchedonandoffusingthemasterremoteonthe
wheelchair.Thewheelchairdrivercannotswitchbacktohisown
modebyhimselfusingthemasterremote.Thiscanonlybedone
bytheattendantusingtheIDC.
