Addendum to the Rear Projection SMART Board™ 3000i
Interactive Whiteboard Installation Guide
This addendum contains information that has changed since the release of the Rear Projection
3000i SMART Board Interactive Whiteboard Installation Guide.
Projector
The printed installation guide states that your 3000i includes an NEC VT670 projector.
However, your 3000i may include an NEC VT676 projector instead. The VT676 is very similar to
the VT670 in appearance and in many of its characteristics. The information in the printed
installation guide concerning the VT670 projector, including the instructions for its use, cleaning,
adjustment, removal and installation, also applies to the VT676 projector.
Power Management
You can configure the 3000i’s internal computer to stop sending an RGB video signal to the
projector after a period of inactivity. The printed manual incorrectly states that when the internal
computer is the 3000i’s active display source, the inactivity period triggers the projector to wait for
30 minutes and then go into Standby mode. The projector actually waits for approximately five
minutes before going into Standby mode.
NOTES
When the projector is displaying a composite or S-video source, the projector won’t go into
Standby mode after a period of inactivity.
Make sure the projector is in Standby mode outside of normal, daily (eight hour) operation. In
Standby mode, the lamp turns off, but the projector remains on. Press the Lamp Off button on
the Control Panel at the end of the day, and your projector remains in Standby mode until you
press the Lamp On button the next day.
