Installation Procedures
Refer to Figure 1 on page 3.
FFrroomm UUnnddeerr tthhee AAPPUU::
1. Route discharge and suction hoses through band wraps on hose support bracket. Use the
new band wraps supplied in kit if required.
NNoottee:: Discharge hose goes above the suction hose as shown in Figure 1.
2. Place ddoouubbllee bulkhead plate (with hex holes) inside APU frame, insert hose fittings through
plate and frame.
a. Position ssiinnggllee bulkhead plate (with round holes) outside of frame and loosely install nut
onto hose fitting.
3. Lubricate O-rings and install discharge and suction hose fittings onto compressor.
NNoottee:: Observe the hose routing/position from the compressor to the band wraps in hose
support bracket. Before torquing the compressor fittings, rotate the hose ends at the
compressor to maximize clearance between the engine and hose, and the fuel strainer
and hoses.
a. Use a torque wrench and torque fitting nuts per specs below:
Compressor Fitting Nuts Bulkhead Fitting Nuts 90° Fittings
#8 Discharge Hose 15-20 lb-ft (20-27 N•m) 32.5-40.5 lb-ft (44–55 N•m) 15-20 lb-ft (20-27 N•m)
#10 Suction Hose 21-27 lb-ft (28-37 N•m) 27–33 lb-ft (37–46 N•m) 21-27 lb-ft (28-37 N•m)
4. Tighten band wraps only enough to secure hoses. Do not overtighten.
5. Assemble 90° fittings onto the refrigerant hoses.
a. Remove protective caps from bulkhead hoses and attach 90° fittings.
b. Use a torque wrench and torque per specs shown above.
