Note: Deter mine the left and right sides of the mac hine from the nor mal operating position.

Installing the Channel Plates
Parts needed for this step:

Short spacer
4 Long spacer

Bolt (1/2 x 6 inches)
8
Square nut (1/2 inch)
8
Lock washer (1/2 inch)
Procedure
1. Diseng ag e the PTO , mo v e the motion control
lev ers to the neutral loc k ed position and set
the parking brak e .
2. Stop the engine , remo v e the k ey , and w ait for
all mo ving par ts to stop before lea ving the
operating position.
3. Loosen the lug n uts or bolts on the rear tires
( Figure 1 ).
4. Raise the mac hine so the rear tires are off the
g round and suppor t the mac hine with jac k
stands .
5. R emo v e the lug n uts or bolts and rear tires
from the mac hine ( Figure 1 ).
6. R emo v e the brak e band bolts and remo v e the
brak e band from the wheel hub ( Figure 1 ).
7. R emo v e the cotter pin from the axle n ut and
remo v e the axle n ut and w asher ( Figure 1 ).
8. Pull the wheel hub from the wheel motor
( Figure 1 ). T his ma y require the use of a pulley
puller to remo v e it.
Mak e sure the w oodr uff k ey remains with the
wheel motor shaft.
9. R emo v e the h y draulic lines connected to the
wheel motor ( Figure 1 ). Raise the ends abo v e
the h y draulic tank to prev ent the fluid r unning
out and plug the h y draulic lines .
10. R emo v e the retainer pin from the y ok e at the
top of the brak e linkag e ( Figure 1 ).
Note: R emember the position of the spacers .
T he long spacers are used for the rear bolts and
the shor t spacers are used for the front bolts .
11. R emo v e the bolts , spacers , w ashers and n uts
holding the wheel motor to the frame and
remo v e the wheel motor and brak e assembly
( Figure 1 ). Discard the spacers .
12. Install the wheel motor and brak e assembly
to the frame with the 2 new shor t and long
spacers , 4 square n uts (1/2 inc h), 4 loc k
w ashers (1/2 inc h) and 4 bolts (1/2 x 6 inc hes)
( Figure 2 ). Ensure the spacers are installed in
the cor rect position.
13. T or que the bolts to 75 ft-lb (102 N m).
14. Connect the h y draulic lines to the wheel motor
( Figure 2 ).
15. Install the wheel hub to the wheel motor with
the w oodr uff k ey , w asher , and slotted n ut
( Figure 2 ).

16. T or que the slotted n ut to 125 ft-lb (170 N m)
( Figure 3 ).
17. Chec k the distance from bottom of slot in n ut
to inside edg e of hole . T w o threads or less
should be sho wing ( Figure 3 ).
18. If more than tw o threads are sho wing remo v e
n ut and install w asher betw een hub and n ut.
19. Tighten the n ut until the next set of slots line
up with the hole in the shaft ( Figure 3 ).
20. R e place the cotter pin ( Figure 2 ).

21. Install the tire with wheel n uts or bolts to the
mac hine ( Figure 1 ).
T or que the wheel n uts to 95 ft-lb (128 N·m).
