Overview
ATTENTION:

This guide provides instructions for professional installers to mount and install the TLP Pro 525M to a wall or glass surface using
the SMK 1 mounting kit. The kit consists of:
(1) SMK 1 plastic enclosure with an adhesive patch on the back (see gure 1)
(4) M3 screws, 6 mm
(1) Cover overlay
(1) Flat Ethernet cable (10 feet [3 meters]) with RJ-45 connectors

Before Starting
Remove one or more knockouts (see gure 1,

) from the SMK 1
enclosure to run cables to the back of the TLP Pro 725M.
You may need to use a sharp knife to cut the plastic holding the
knockout in place.
Attach the SMK 1 to a Flat Surface
Option 1: Mounting the SMK 1 to a Wall with Fasteners
To mount the SMK 1 to a wall or furniture:
1. Drill holes through the four dimples in the plastic (see gure 1,

and into the mounting surface.
2. Attach the SMK 1 to the mounting surface, using screws (not
provided) that are appropriate for the mounting surface.
Do not overtighten the screws or the SMK 1 may be damaged.

Option 2: Mounting the SMK 1 to a Glass Surface
1. Clean both sides of the glass with a lint-free cloth and a 1:1
mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.
2. On the outside glass surface, use a strip of painter’s tape to
mark the position of the SMK 1 bottom edge (see gure 2,

).
Use a level (

) to ensure it is at the correct angle.
3. Remove the plastic backing from the adhesive patch on the back
of the SMK 1.
TIP: Wet your ngers to prevent them from sticking to the
adhesive patch.

4. Hold the SMK 1 at a slight angle with the top tilting forward
and carefully align the bottom inner edge of the SMK 1 with the
painter’s tape (see gure 3,

).
5. Press the SMK 1 rmly against the glass surface.
6. Remove the painter’s tape.
7. (Optional) The rear overlay cover can be applied to the inside glass
surface (
2
) to hide any air bubbles that were trapped between the
SMK 1 and the outside glass surface.
a. Remove the paper backing from the cover overlay.
TIP: Wet your ngers to prevent them from sticking to the
adhesive patch.
b. Center the cover overlay behind the SMK enclosure.
c. Use a credit card or similar at edge to remove any air
bubbles.

ATTENTION:
Do not power on the touchpanels until you have read the
Attention in the Power supply section of the TLP Pro 525, 725,
and 1025 Series User Guide.

1. Run the provided at Ethernet cable from a Power
over Ethernet injector to the SMK 1 (see the
TLP Pro 525, 725, and 1025 Series User Guide). Pass
the cabe through the touchpanel mounting plate.
2. Fasten the mounting plate to the SMK 1 using the
four M3 screws provided (see gure 4,

). Use the
holes, marked WALL, closest to each corner of the
mounting plate.
Ensure the cable passes through the gap left by
removing the knockout (see Before Starting on the
previous page).
3. Attach the cable to the LAN/PoE input on the
TLP Pro 525M rear panel (see the TLP Pro 525, 725,
and 1025 Series User Guide).
4. The mounting plate has two hooks (

), one on each
of the top corners. Position the TLP Pro 525M so that
these hooks t into the slots at the top of the rear
panel of the touchpanel (see the TLP Pro 525, 725,
and 1025 Series User Guide).
5. Slide the TLP Pro 525M down slightly so that the
hooks are seated securely in the slots.
6. The tongue at the bottom of the mounting plate (

sits in the groove in the bottom of the touchpanel
(see inset,

). Fasten the touchpanel to the
mounting plate by tightening the lock screw (

).
