2. Attach the Drill Template provided to
the installation location. Orient the
template so the “Front” direction is
toward the eld of view.
3. Mark the location of the mounting
screw holes. If the drop cable will
be routed through the mounting
surface, mark the location of the hole
for the cable. NOTE: The drop cable
can be routed through the cable
channel on the side of the base.
4. Drill holes for the mounting fasteners,
and for the drop cable if needed.
5. If wall inserts are used, install the
wall inserts at this time.
6. Use the L-wrench provided to fully
loosen the four captive dome cover
screws.
7. Separate the dome assembly from
the mounting base.
8. Attach a ground wire to the
grounding terminal the drop cables.
Ensure the grounding is compliant
with local electrical codes.
9. If the camera will be powered by
12 Vdc power, connect power leads
attach leads to the
+ / - terminals
on the camera drop cable. Do NOT
power on the camera at this time.
NOTE: The camera can also be powered through Power over Ethernet (PoE, see below).
10. Connect an Ethernet cable to the network connector drop cable from your camera, and then route it
to your PoE injector or your network router. If your camera is powered through PoE, do not connect
it to your PoE injector or router at this time. OPTIONAL: If the Ethernet connection is in a moist or
dusty environment, use the Weatherproof Fitting kit provided to protect the connectors. Refer to the
instructions at the end of this document.
11. Optional steps:
a. Install a microSD card (not provided) into the card slot on the camera (see photo on
page 1). Push the card in until it locks into place. NOTE: The microSD card saves camera
status, recorded video and capture les within the camera for retrieval later. See the
Specications section for maximum card size.
b. Connect the AUDIO IN and AUDIO OUT drop cables to a local microphone and speaker
(respectively) if needed.
c. Attach alarm in and alarm out devices to the Alarm Terminations drop cable. Alarm wiring

ii. The Alarm Out circuit attaches to the 1A and 1B terminations. The 1A terminal must
be on the same side of the circuit as the Battery - terminal.
d. Connect your RS-485 network cable to the RS485 drop cable D+ and D- terminals.
12. Apply power to the camera:
a. If the camera will be powered by a 12 Vdc power source, attach the power leads to the power
supply and then apply power.
b. If the camera will be powered using PoE, connect the Ethernet cable to your PoE injector or
network router.
Step 2. Use the Alibi Config Tool to Activate the camera
The Alibi Cong Tool is a PC-based network utility for discovery of Alibi compatible devices. It provides
an easy way to activate devices, congure camera and recorder network conguration settings, and set
device passwords. It can be installed on a Microsoft® Windows® operating system that has direct access
to the network where your Alibi devices are installed. You can download the Alibi Conguration Tool from
Supercircuits.com or AlibiSecurity.com/Resources.
Install the Alibi Conguration Tool
1. Download the Alibi Conguration Tool from the Supercircuits.com or AlibiSecurity.com/
Resources website. At the time when this document was published, the le is named:
alibi-cong-tool.zip and is about 80MB.
2. Un-zip the le on a computer with Microsoft Windows (Windows 7 or newer) that is connected to
the LAN where your Alibi devices are connected.
3. Run the le contained in the zip le: Alibi Cong Tool.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions to
install the le.
4. Open the Alibi Cong Tool application. When the application opens, it automatically “discovers” and
lists all Alibi compatible devices on the LAN. See below.
Notice in the screen above, the tool discovered devices on other subnets. It will also list other Alibi
compatible devices on the LAN.
Activate Inactive Alibi device
When an Alibi device is rst installed, or is reset to its factory conguration, it must be Activated before
it can be used. In the Alibi Conguration Tool, Inactive devices have a Security status of Inactive, and
an IPv4 address of 192.168.1.64. A device is Activated when a password is assigned to the admin
username of the device.
1. Scan through the list of devices the Alibi Cong Tool discovered for the Inactive device you want to
activate (see below). Click on the device in the list to highlight it, and then click the select box to
check it. See below.

a combination of uppercase, lowercase alphabetic characters and numbers to create a
“Strong” password. The rating is shown beneath the eld. See above.
b. Enter the admin password again in the Conrm eld, and then click Activate. In the screen
below, notice that the device Security status shows Active. Record your admin password for
reference later.
Although the device is now activated, it retained the default IP address 192.168.1.64.
Step 3. Use the Alibi Config Tool to Modify the Network
Parameters of the camera
You can change the network parameters of devices that are active.
1. In the list of devices discovered, click on the device you want to change the network settings for, and
then click the select box to check it. See below.
Modify Network Parameters
2. In the popup window, edit the current network parameters, and then enter the admin user
password in the eld at the bottom. In the example below, the IPv4 address was changed to
192.168.3.101, and the IPv4 Gateway was changed to 192.168.3.1.
3. Click OK to save your settings. The parameter change(s) will be shown device’s network parameters
(see below).
Step 4. Login to the camera
To access the camera from a computer on the LAN:
1. Open your Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) browser on your computer and enter the IP address of the
camera in the URL eld. In the example below, the IP address of the camera is 192.168.3.101.
2. In the login window, enter admin for the User Name and the password you created in the
Password eld, the click Login.
3. If this is the rst time you are logging into a camera, you may see the message in the following

Using the Waterproof Ethernet Fitting
Install the Waterproof Ethernet Fitting on the Ethernet cable end at the camera when moisture or
contamination exists in the area near the camera. The tting includes several parts that must be installed in
a specic order. To install the tting:
1. Place the rubber O-ring over the camera drop cable end cap.
Push the O-ring up to the connector cap.
2. If the network cable from the switch or router has a connector
on the end, cut o the connector.
3. Place the Lock Nut onto the network cable from the router
or switch as shown in the drawing to the right. The inside
threads must be toward the camera end.
4. Place the rubber basket onto the network cable above the lock
nut as shown.
5. Place the end cap onto the network cable above the rubber
gasket as shown. The ngered end must be toward the router
or switch.
6. Install an RJ-45 connector onto the network cable.
7. Plug the RJ-45 connector with the network cable into the
camera network drop cable.
8. Fit the end cap on the network cable onto the camera drop
cable end cap. Rotate the network cable end cap to lock it in
place.
9. Push the rubber gasket fully into the end of the network cable
end cap.
10. Screw the lock nut onto the network cable end cap until it is
fully seated.
