Connecting the phone
1. Connect the handset and the optional headset (WHS32)
2. Connect the phone to the Power supply and to the network
Option 1. PoE: Connect the phone to the Wildix Switch using Ethernet cable
Option 2. AC Power: Connect the phone to the AC power using an External Power Adapter
(PSWP4X0) and connect the phone to the Internet using Ethernet cable

Solid: Power ON
Off: Power OFF

Flashing: Incoming call / New VM message
Off: In the standby mode
Using the keys
Soft Keys: can be used to confirm different operations which are indicated above the corresponding soft
keys on the screen.
Navigation Keys: can be used to select and confirm different menu options.
Volume Keys: can be used to adjust the audio volume (during a call), the ringer volume (in the standby
mode or while receiving an incoming call), the speaker volume (in the speaker mode)
Log in
By default the Login Feature Code is 99.
To register your phone to the Wildix system:
1) Dial 99
2) Enter your extension number using the keypad
3) Dial your password using the keypad
Note: use the corresponding digits instead of letters and the asterisk
button instead of all the special characters, example:
Password: 4Ag7$Z
Enter: 4247*9
4) Press 1 (after the audible command) to use this phone
Basic Operations
Make a call
1. Select the mode to make a call:
Lift the handset
Press “Speaker” button
Press “Headset” button to use the monaural headset WHS32 (article on demand).
Note: During the call you can switch between the handset/headset/speaker modes by pressing
“Headset”/“Speaker” buttons.
2. Dial the number (from the standby mode):
Manually: Enter the number with Numeric dialpad, then press “Enter” button or “Send” Soft key
From the call History:
1) Press “History” Soft key or “Redial” button
2) Select the number to call, then press “Dial” Soft key.

From the Phonebook:
1) Press “Phonebook” button or “Phoneb” Soft key
2) Select the phonebook, select the contact
3) Press “Dial” Soft key.
Note: To search in the Phonebook: press “Search” Soft key in the menu, then type the name.
Note: It is possible to monitor the colleague realtime status from the Phonebook (online / offline / busy /
incoming call / absent / dnd)
Redial the last called number: Press twice “Redial” button.
Answer a call
Select the way to answer the call:
Lift the handset
Press “Speaker” button
Press “Headset” button
During a call: Press “Answer” Soft key.
Note: It is possible to receive more than one call at a time, in case Call Waiting feature is enabled
To decline a call: Press “Reject” Soft key.
To silence the ring of an incoming call without answering: Press “Silence” Soft key.
To forward a call without answering: Press “Fwd” Soft key, dial the number, press “Ok”.
Put a call on hold
To put a call on hold: press “Hold” Soft key during a conversation.
To resume a call on hold: press “Resume” Soft key.
If you have several calls on hold: use the Navigation keys to select the call, then press “Resume” Soft
key.
Make a second call:
1) press “New” Soft key
2) dial a number or press “Select” Soft key to search for a contact in History or in Phonebook.
Transfer a call
Blind transfer
Transfer without notifying the person who receives the call transfer
1) Press “Transfer” button or “Trans” Soft key during a call (the call is put on hold)
2) Dial the number directly or press “Select” Soft key to search for a contact in History or Phonebook
3) Hang up or press “Transfer” button / “Trans” Soft key to complete the transfer
Blind transfer via BLF keys
1) Press the BLF key configured as “Colleague” during a call
2) Hang up or press “Transfer” button / “Trans” Soft key to complete the transfer.

Attended transfer
Transfer with notification to the person who receives the transfer
1) Press “Transfer” button or “Trans” Soft key during a call (the call is put on hold)
2) Dial the number directly or press “Select” Soft key to search for a contact in History or Phonebook
3) Wait till the person answers
4) Hang up or press “Transfer” button / “Trans” Soft key to complete the transfer
Attended transfer via BLF keys
1) Press the BLF key configured as “Colleague” during a call
2) Wait till the person answers
3) Hang up or press “Transfer” button / “Trans” Soft key to complete the transfer.
Conference
1) Put the first call on hold
2) Make a second call to the person that you wish to invite to the conference call
3) When the third person responds, press “Conf” Soft key
4) Press “Split” to split the two calls or hang up to end the conference
Mute the microphone during a call
Press “Mute” button to mute/unmute the microphone.
Listen to voicemail messages
Press “Voicemail” button to access your Voicemail.
Call features
Press “Featur.” Soft key from the standby mode to access the menu.
Do not disturb: If enabled, you do not receive incoming calls or no ring tone is played (depending on your
account settings).
Press “Modify” Soft key to enable/disable the feature.
Ring Tone: Access to the list of ring tones.
Select the ringtone, then press “Play” Soft key to listen to it or “Modify” to apply.
Call forwarding: Allows you to set set up call forwarding when busy, unavailable or always to another
number or to Voicemail.
To enable:
1) Select the menu “busy”, “unavail” or “always”
2) Press “Modify” Soft key
3) Enter the number or VOICEMAIL into the “destination” field
4) Press “Save” Soft key
To disable: Select “busy”/“unavail”/”always”, press “Modify”, select “Deactivate”.
Call waiting: Allows you to receive more than one call at a time.
Press “Modify” Soft key to enable/disable the feature.
Mobility: If enabled, you receive incoming calls also to your mobility extension phone number after a
certain timeout (specified in your account settings).
Press “Modify” Soft key to enable/disable the feature.

Monitoring of colleagues and features
Monitoring of colleagues statuses is possible directly from the Phonebook.
Feature keys/BLF and Memory keys can be set up for monitoring of users/features.
WP480 has 3 Feature keys/BLF while WP490 has 8 Feature keys/BLF and 10 Memory Keys, which can be
used for these purposes.
BLF keys are set up via Collaboration (Settings > Function Keys) or WMS and allow you to monitor
features/colleagues and to perform different actions.
The list of the features that can be added for monitoring:

Connection
Connect the EXT IN port of the extension module to the EXT port of the WP490 2015 phone using RJ12
cable.
To connect another WP490EXT in chain, connect the EXT OUT port of the first extension module to the
EXT IN port of the second extension module.
Configuration
Configure the BLF keys via Wildix Collaboration interface Settings > Function keys
After having configured the Feature / BLF keys and Memory / BLF keys:
1) Click “Add exp”
2) Add Feature Keys to be monitored via the expansion module
3) Click “Save”
In case you have more than one WP490EXT modules connected in chain, repeat the steps 1-3.
