SMART Technologies Board 600 and D600 are interactive whiteboards that enable simultaneous use by two students. Whiteboard
The SBD600 is a dual-touch, dual-write SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard. It
enables two students to simultaneously use the interactive whiteboard.
This document explains how to switch between single-user and dual-user mode, and
start using dual-touch.
Opening SMART Notebook Software
Two students can simultaneously touch or write on the interactive whiteboard using
SMART Notebook software. Install SMART Notebook software and the SMART
product drivers from the CD, and then open SMART Notebook software.
The SMART Notebook window appears, and the interactive whiteboard is
automatically in single-user mode.
Switching Between Single-User and
Dual-User Mode
If you want to use the whole interactive whiteboard, you can use the interactive
whiteboard in single-user mode. As the only user, you can interact with the entire
interactive whiteboard and write or draw using all four pen tray pens. If you want two
students to simultaneously use the interactive whiteboard, switch to dual-user mode.
You can switch between single-user mode and dual-user mode at any time.
To select dual-user mode Press Dual Write Mode .
To select single-user
mode
Press Exit Dual Write Mode .

Using the Interactive Whiteboard in
Dual-User Mode
Each student can press their half of the screen with their finger to left-click, write using
a pen tray pen and erase digital ink using the eraser. Each student can also access
frequently used tools using their own Floating Tools toolbar.
To left-click 1. For the left side of the screen, ensure that the black and red pen tray pens are in
the pen tray.
OR
For the right side of the screen, ensure that the blue and green pen tray pens are
in the pen tray.
2. Press the interactive whiteboard with your finger.
To write or draw on the
interactive screen
1. For the left side of the screen, pick up the black or red pen tray pen.
OR
For the right side of the screen, pick up the blue or green pen tray pen.
2. Write or draw on your half of the interactive screen.
3. When you finish writing and drawing, return the pen to the pen tray.
To erase digital ink 1. For the left side of the screen, ensure that the black and red pen tray pens are in
the pen tray.
OR
For the right side of the screen, ensure that the blue and green pen tray pens are
in the pen tray.
2. Pick up the eraser, and then press it on your half of the interactive screen to erase
the digital ink.
3. When you finish erasing, return the eraser to the pen tray.
To select a Floating Tool Press a tool in the Floating Tools toolbar. The available tools are Select, Pen (black,
red, green and blue), Highlighter, Eraser, Shapes, Lines and Customize.
