Lumiglo Fast Boil Kele

When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precauons should

always be followed, including the following;

• This appliance is intended for indoor, household use. Unintended

use or operaon may result in personal injury, damage to property

or damage to the appliance that will void the warranty.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and

above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilies or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been

given supervision and/or instrucon concerning safe use of the

appliance and the understanding of hazards. Children shall not play

with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be

made by children unless they are older than 8 years old and

supervised.

• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8

years old.

• Never handle or operate any appliance with wet or moist hands.

• Do not immerse appliance, cord or plug in water or other liquids.

Take care whilst cleaning.

• If the appliance has fallen in water do not reach for it, immediately

switch the appliance o at the mains and unplug it.

• Ensure that the cord is not in a posion where it can be pulled or

tripped over accidentally. Never use the cord to carry or pull the

appliance. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or

counter.

• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

• Do not use the appliance if it has malfunconed, been dropped or

damaged in anyway. If the unit has been damaged take the unit for

examinaon and/or repair by an authorised service agent.

• Do not aempt to open the appliance, repair or modify the

appliance, use the appliance for unintended applicaons or use

accessory aachments not recommended by the manufacturer.

Safety informaon

Failure to follow these instrucons may result in re, electrical

shock, or risk of injury to persons.

• Do not place the appliance near a naked ame, hot gas or electric

burners, or any appliances generang heat.

• Always remove the plug safely from the socket aer use. Do not

pull from the cord.

• Ensure that all packaging is removed before use.

Appliance specic safety informaon

• Ensure that the kele is used on a rm and at surface out of the

reach of children, this will prevent the kele from overturning and

prevent damage or injury.

• Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without

pping the kele too fast.

• Be careful of relling when the kele is hot.

• The aached base can not be used for anything other than its

intended use.

• Extreme cauon must be used when moving an appliance

containing hot water.

• Unplug the kele from the outlet when it is not in use and before

cleaning. Allow the kele to cool before pung on or taking o

parts and before cleaning the appliance.

• The kele can only be used with the stand provided.

• If the kele is overlled, boiling water may spill our from the sides.

• Posion the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.

• Do not remove the lid while water is boiling.

• Ensure the kele is switched o before removing it from its stand.

• Please do not leave this appliance unaended when it is switched

on.

Before rst use

• Clean the kele before rst me use by boiling a full kele of water twice and

then discarding the water. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

Please note: MAX capacity 1.7L

Boil-dry protecon

If you aempt or accidentally boil the kele without water the boil-dry protecon

mechanism will automacally switch the appliance o.

Using the appliance

1. Remove the kele from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid

buon.

2. Place the kele under a running tap and ll to above the minimum and below

the maximum mark.

3. Posion the kele on the power base.

4. Connect the appliances plug to the electrical supply and switch the appliance on.

5. Turn the keles switch on. The light will indicate that the appliance is now on.

6. Once the appliance has boiled the kele will automacally ick o. You can

cancel the boiling at any point by ipping the switch up.

7. Li the kele from the power base and pour the water from the kele.

Cleaning and maintenance

• Disconnect the kele before beginning cleaning.

• Do not immerse the power cord or base of the appliance in water or liquid for

any reason.

• Wipe the body of the kele with a damp cloth or cleaner. Do not use abrasive

materials to clean the appliance.

• Always unplug the kele when it is not in use.

• The kele or any of it’s components are not dishwasher safe.

Descaling the appliance

Periodically remove mineral deposits that collect in your kele, this can be done by

using shop bought descaler or by following these basic instrucons using white

wine vinegar. It is recommended you do this once a month.

1. Fill the kele with 3 small cups of white wine vinegar, add water so that the

kele is full between the MIN/MAX mark.

2. Once the kele has boiled remove it from the heat. Pour out the cleaning

mixture. Boil the kele again with normal water and repeat several mes unl

the odour of vinegar has disappeared.

You can also use a shop bought descaler to do this. Simply follow the instrucons

on the packet and run the appliance as normal with the descaler soluon in it.

Aer use, run clean water through the appliance three mes.

UK and EU guarantee

Your new Andrew James product comes with a 24 month guarantee and a 2 year

xed warranty, eecve from receipt conrmaon. Your receipt or order number is

required as proof of purchase date so it is imperave that you keep it safe. This

guarantee only applies if the item has been used solely for the use intended, and all

instrucons have been followed accordingly. Please note this product is for

domesc use only and not for commercial use.

Abuse of your product will invalidate the guarantee. Returned goods can only be

accepted if repackaged properly within the original colour product box, and

presented with the original receipt of sale/order number. This does not aect your

statutory rights.

Returned products must be cleaned and returned to us in as close to delivery

condion as possible.

If your product develops a problem within the rst 12 months of the xed warranty,

we will pay all shipping costs to have it returned to us. Aer 12 months the

customer will be liable for the cost of returning the product to us. We will then pay

to have the repaired/replaced item shipped back to the customer.

Customers are responsible for any taxes applied to our products when they are

shipped outside of the EU.

All of our prices are inclusive of VAT.

Once a product has been returned to us, we will aim to repair or replace it within 30

days of receipt.

The guarantee does not cover any defect arising from improper use, damage, build-

up of lime scale or repair aempts made by third pares. Also, the guarantee does

not cover normal wear and tear of individual parts.

Electrical informaon

Always ensure the voltage on the rang label corresponds to the power supply

where the product is being used.

WARNING! This product must be connected to an earthed electrical power supply.

The green/yellow conductor in the supply cord must be connected to the Earth

terminal in the plug. The power supply must have an Earth connecon.

Precauons should be followed for safe cable management and connecon to the

power supply.

If a new mains plug needs to be ed follow the ng instrucons supplied with

good quality BS1363A plugs. If in doubt consult a qualied electrician or appliance

repair agent.

• Safely dispose of the old plug.

• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal “L” in the new plug.

• Connect the blue lead to the neutral “N” terminal.

• Connect the green/yellow lead to the earth “E” terminal

Recommended fuse: 13A

If an extension cable is required, it must have an earth conductor. To avoid

overheang the extension cable should be rated no less than 13A and be fully

unwound before use.

Do not aempt to modify electrical plugs or sockets or aempt to make an

alternave connecon to the electrical supply.

Non-household waste. This product must not be disposed of together with ordinary

household waste.

Separate collecon of used products, baeries and packaging allows the recovery
