NOTE: 1. In Canada, replace each occurrence of 277 with 347 and 480 with 600.
2. Not available in Canada.
3. 277V Taps can be used for 480V applications.
4. 120V Taps can be used for 208V applications.
5. Taps come with 9" lead conductors or cord-sets standard unless otherwise indicated.
*NOTE: In Canada replace each occurrence of 277 with 347 and 480 with 600.
This Sentinel Lighting system conforms to and should be
installed and properly grounded in compliance with
requirements of the current National Electrical Code
and/or codes administered by local authorities.
This Sentinel Lighting system is UL listed and CSA
listed and is made for interior use only and should be
installed in conformance with current local and/or the
National Electrical Code.
Chan-L-Wire is not suitable for damp or wet locations.
Temperature Caution: Cable pulling and Tap installation should not be
attempted in temperatures below 32°F / 0°C.
Two installers are recommended!— one to see that Cable is kept flat
in 615CLWA Pull-In Guide and one to pull at far end of run.
For short runs: A length of Cable may be cut from reel and loosely
recoiled to prevent twisting during pull-in.
For longer runs: Cable may be unreeled as it is pulled in.
Tools Required:
Utility knife
Hand-held hacksaw or hacksaw blade
PVC Cutter or commercially available anvil blade cutter
NOTE: Tabletop or flat cutting surface recommended for easiest cable preparation.
1d Install Coupling.
2b Attach CLWEC
Endcap/Puller to Cable.
1. Insert prepared end of Cable into bottom
half of Endcap/Puller. Bend cable upward
to match slope of CLWEC base.
2. Make sure that insulation barriers
are positioned in cable slits between
each conductor.
3. Snap cover over cable into bottom
half of Endcap/Puller.
4. Tightly secure cover screw.
2d Attach 615CLWA
Pull-In Guide to Strut.
2f Continue pulling Cable into Channel.
IMPORTANT: Engagement of Endcap/Puller and Cable in Channel
should be monitored during pull-in. Cable must be kept flat and
prevented from twisting between coil or reel and Pull-In Guide.
Two installers are recommended.
Pull Cable until the Endcap/Puller is approximately one foot from
exiting the end of the Channel run. Remove Pull-In Guide from end
of Channel and cut feed end of Cable leaving approximately one
foot extending from Channel end.
1e Connect continuing Channel sections.
1. Align end of Channel
to center of locating
hole on coupling.
2. Tighten two
locking screws.
2. Tighten two
locking screws.
1. Slide channel
into coupling.

Install “U” bolt over Strut end
and tighten nuts securely.
2
Pull in CLWFC Cable…
2a Prepare cable for Endcap/Puller.
1. Using a PVC Cutter or an anvil
blade cutter, prepare end of cable
with clean, perpendicular cut.
2. Using utility knife, cut
away side flanges 8-12".
(This allows cable to fit
inside CLWEC.)
3. Using hacksaw blade, slit
1/4" - 1/2" between each
conductor on score marks.
(This allows cable to be
positioned between
insulation barriers in CLWEC.)
2c Attach Pull-In Rope (by others) to Endcap/Puller.
NOTE: 1/4" diameter Polypro
Rope with 1200 lb. tensile
strength and 210 lb. working
load is recommended.
2. Closed loop knot.
1. Thread pull-in rope through
hole in the direction as shown.
2e Feed Cable into Strut.
1. Place cable over Pull-In Guide
rollers. PRINTED SIDE of Cable
must be facing towards rollers.
