the customer on the operation, safety and maintenance regulations governing the machine.
Confirmation is required to prove that the machine and the operating instructions have been properly handed over. For this purpose
you have received a confirmation e-mail from Pöttinger. If you have not received this mail, please contact your local dealer. Your
dealer can fill in the handover declaration online.
For the purposes of product liability law, every farmer is an entrepreneur.
In the terms of product liability law, damage to property is any damage arising due to the machine, but not to the machine, and an
excess (500 euros) exists for this liability.
Corporate damage to property within the terms of the product liability law is excluded from this liability.
Be advised! The operating instructions must also be handed over with any subsequent machine sale or transfer and the transferee
must be instructed in the regulations stated.

INTRODUCTION

Introduction
Dear Customer
These Operating Instructions are intended to allow you
to familiarise yourself with the implement and provide
you with clear information on safe and correct handling,
care and maintenance. Thus please take the time to read
these Instructions.
These Operating Instructions comprise part of the imple-
ment. They are to be kept at a suitable location and acces-
sible to staff over the entire service life of the implement.
Instructions based on the national provisions regarding
protection against accidents, road traffic and environmental
protection are also to be applied additionally.
Any persons commissioned with the operation, maintenance
or transport of the implement must read and understand
these Instructions, in particular the safety information, prior
to starting work. Any warranty claims lapse on non-obser-
vance of these Instructions.
In case you have questions related to this operation manual
or further questions about this implement, please contact
your dealer.
Care and maintenance performed in good time and scru-
pulously according to the maintenance intervals specified
ensure operational and traffic safety as well as the reliability
of the implement.
Use only the original spare parts and accessories from
ttinger or accepted by Pöttinger. For those parts relia-
bility, safety and suitability for Pöttinger machines can be
assured. Warranty claims lapse if non-approved parts are
used. The use of original parts is also recommended after
the warranty period has expired to maintain the performance
of the implement in the long term.
Product liability legislation obliges the manufacturer and
the authorised dealer to issue Instructions when selling
implements and to instruct customers in the use with refer-
ence to the safety, operating and maintenance regulations.
Confirmation in the form of a declaration of transfer is
required to verify that the implement and Instructions have
been transferred correctly. The declaration of transfer was
attached to the implement on delivery.
Every self-employed person and farmer is an entrepreneur
within the meaning of the product liability legislation. In
accordance with the laws of product liability, entrepre-
neurial property damages are excluded from the liability.
All damage to property within the meaning of the product
liability legislation is regarded as damage caused by the
implement but not to the implement.
These Operating Instructions are integral part of the imple-
ment delivery scope. You should therefore hand them over to
the new owner if ownership of the implement is transferred.
Train and instruct the new owner in the regulations stated.

DANGER
Life-threatening danger exists through swiveling and
folding rotor arms.
• Do not stand in the swivel range of the rotor
arms.
• Make sure that the swivel area is clear and
that no one is in the danger zone before
swivelling the rotor arms up or down.
The danger area around the machine is marked in grey
and must not be entered. The machine operator must
always keep the danger area within view. Persons in
the danger area must be directed to immediately leave.
- The driver must check once again that nobody is in the
tractor/wagon area immediately before driving off.
- The danger area may only be accessed for the purpose
of maintenance/adjustment work and carrying out any
emergency operation, and only after the tractor/wagon
combination drive and the rotor arms have come to a
standstill, and after the pair has been secured against
rolling.

WARNING

moves unexpectedly
• Park the tractor/wagon pair only on solid,
level ground.
• Protect the tractor and machine against
unintentional rolling. (Handbrake/wheel
chocks)
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports.
Tractor requirements
Hydraulic connection
The tractor must be equipped with at least one double-
acting and one single-acting hydraulic connection.
Single-acting Connect the plug-in coupling with the
dust cap "red" to the single-acting control valve.
Double-acting Connect the two plug-in couplings with
the dust cap "blue" on the double-acting control
valve.

Attaching the machine
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to crushing when coupling and
uncoupling machine to lower link.
• When coupling and uncoupling to the lower
links, take particular care not to get stuck or
caught in anything.
NOTE
Material damage due to machine moving laterally in
the mounting frame.
• Adjust the lower link limiting chains and
stabilisers so that it is not possible for the
machine to move laterally.
NOTE
Material damage due to rotating rotor
• Extra length hydraulic lines and electric
cables are installed on the machine. This al-
lows the machine to be attached to different
tractors.
• Adapt the hydralic line and electrical cable
lengths to your tractor.
Roll together appropriately and secure with
cable ties.
• Observe lengths L1 and L2
• Place the hydraulic hoses and electric ca-
bles out of reach of the rotating rotors. Also
take into account the changed geometry for
cornering.
NOTE
Material damage through improperly attaching the
machine.
• Attach the chassis frame horizontally to the
tractor's lifting gear.

1a. Connect standard drawbar to tractor (option)

• Protect your fingers when connecting the
lower link bar to the lower link!
- Switch off PTO shaft
- Attach headstock to the lower link of the tractor
- Secure coupling pins correctly
- Position chassis frame horizontally
- Set the lower linkage limitation chains and/or
stabilisers so that the attached machine cannot
move laterally.

1b. Couple the lower parallelogram drawbar to
the tractor:

The risk of fingers being crushed exists.
• Protect your fingers when connecting to
the tractor linkage drawbar!
- Switch off PTO shaft
- Attach drawbar to tractor linkage drawbar
- Secure coupling pins correctly
- Position chassis frame horizontally
- Set the lower linkage limitation chains and/or
stabilisers so that the attached machine cannot
move laterally.
- Attach security chain.
1c. Couple the drawbar to the tractor:

• Protect your fingers when connecting to
the trailer coupling!
- Switch off PTO shaft
- Attach drawbar to the tractor trailer coupling
- Secure coupling pins correctly
- Position chassis frame horizontally
- Set the lower linkage limitation chains and/or
stabilisers so that the attached machine cannot
move laterally.
- Attach security chain.
2a. Fold up standard drawbar support stand
CAUTION
Risk of injury from improperly attached
machine.
• The machine could drop when the
support stand is removed. Check that
the machine and tractor are properly
connected.
- Loosen the locking pin (1)
- Fold up the support stand
CAUTION
Risk of injury from the support stand folding up.
• Be aware that the support stand may
fold up automatically when locking it
- The locking pin (1) engages automatically in the end
position
- Check locking mechanism: Check on the opposite
side whether the locking pin is engaged.

2c. Fold up the drawbar support stand

support stand is removed. Check that
the machine and tractor are properly

- Remove spring pin (2)
- Adjust the support stand (1) to the shortest position
using the crank handle (3).
- Secure support stand with the spring pin (2)
- The support stand is rotated via the parallelogram.
3. Make electrical connection
Lighting
- Connect 7-pin plug to tractor (E3)
- Check that the lighting on the machine functions
4. Connect hydraulics
- Switch pto off before coupling
- Move lever on tractor's control unit to float position

- Lay rope into tractor cabin
2b. Fold up the parallelogram drawbar support
stand underneath

• The machine could drop when the
support stand is removed. Check that
the machine and tractor are properly
connected.

- Adjust the support stand (1) to the required length
using the crank handle (3). (The support stand can
be swivelled back 90° to check the length. As long as
the support stand does not extend beyond the green
area of the sticker, it is possible to fit it collision-free
in the parking position (2)).
- Release the locking pins (2) secured with a spring
pin, and remove the locking pins.
- Move the support stand from the working position
(4) to the park position (5).

TIP
Fit the support stand horizontally in park position.
The support stand platform is facing backwards
against the direction of travel!
- Secure support stand using locking pins (2) and
spring pin.

5. Fit cardan shaft
NOTE
Material damage to machines with drawbar
through collision with the cardan shaft.
• When in the transport position, ensure
that sufficient distance is maintained
during transport to prevent collisions
occurring through uneven ground.
Important!
Always couple the wide-angle link to the
tractor, not to the machine!
- Turn engine off and remove ignition key.
- Before fitting the cardan shaft, clean and grease the
machine's connection profiles and the tractor's pto.
- Fit the cardan shaft with the freewheel on the machine
first. Then attach cardan shaft to the tractor's pto.
- Secure the protective tubes of all cardan shafts
against rotating by attaching the security chains.
NOTE
Material damage through unadapted cardan
shaft length
• Before initial operation or when chang-
ing the tractor, check the cardan shaft
length and adapt if necessary.
• See chapter "Adapting the Cardan
shaft" in Appendix B.

Cutting to length procedure
- To adapt the lengths, hold cardan shaft halves next
to each other, in the shortest operating position (L2),
and mark.
Shortest possible operating position (L2):
1. Lower hoist completely
2. Steering turned to lock.
(See adjacent illustration)
For details see chapter "Adapting the cardan shaft".
Preparations for initial use
1. Put the machine in the working position.
The working position is when the device is lowered and
the tine ground clearance (A1) is 10 mm - 0 mm.
2. Check the distance between the cardan shaft
and the tractor linkage drawbar
The distance (X) between the cardan shaft and the
tractor linkage drawbar must be sufficient to prevent
collections between them both!
General standard gauge: 120mm
NOTE
Material damage in the event of a collision between
cardan shaft and tractor linkage drawbar.
If the terrain is extremely uneven, it is possible that
the general standard gauge (measured on a level
surface) may not be sufficient to prevent a collision.
Check the distance between the cardan shaft and
the tractor linkage drawbar at topologically sensitive
points (e.g. crests) and adjust if necessary.
3. Check the position of the rotor unit
The position of the rotor unit should be more or less
parallel to the ground; a slight forward inclination is
permitted.
4. Adjust the drawbar play.
Adjust the drawbar play irrespective of whether a feeler
wheel is fitted or not.
Performance:
The machine is connected to the tractor and in the
headland position (see above)
1. Loosen the lock nut (1)
2. Adjust drawbar cylinder using the threaded spindle
via the punch (2)
3a. Machines without "MULTITAST":
Turn the threaded spindle until the thread is directly
against the cylinder (no cylinder travel)

(Cylinder has 2 cm distance)

NOTE
Material damage when the cardan shaft collides
with the punch.
In case of extreme ground unevenness, it is possible
that a collision will occur if the punch is positioned
with the long end towards the cardan shaft.
Remove the punch before starting work.
5. Tighten the locking nut (1)
Set sequence
1. Set time required for rear rotor unit to be lifted

2. Use the pressure relief valve (2) to set the time for
the rear rotor to be raised (Allen key).
3. Fit covering (A)
2. Set time required for the rear rotor unit to be
lowered
TIP
The time required for the rear rotor unit to be lowered
must be reset every time the tractor is changed.
1. Turn the throttle rotary switch (1) to set the time for
the rear rotor to be lowered.
Securing unbraked devices by means of
a breakaway chain
The operator must protect unbraked devices against loss
during travel by means of a breakaway chain (1). Mounting
points on the device side depend on the type of connection.

PARKING THE MACHINE
Parking the machine
Park the machine in working position (= rotor lowered)!
WARNING
Risk of fatal or serious injury if another person starts
the tractor and drives off or operates the hydraulic
system control lever while you are carrying out
maintenance.
• Before carrying out maintenance and repair
work, switch off the engine, remove the key
and engage the steering lock.
WARNING
Risk of fatal or serious injury if the tractor or machine
moves unexpectedly
• Park the tractor/wagon pair only on solid,
level ground.
• Protect the tractor and machine against
unintentional rolling. (Handbrake/wheel
chocks)
• Turn the engine off.
• Remove the key.
• Secure the machine against tipping using
supports.
- Control unit in floating position
- Release spring-loaded bolt (1)
- Swivel support stand down until it engages
Remove parallelogram drawbar support stand from
park position and fit in support position. (See chapter
Attachment, "2b. Fold up lower support stand on
parallelogram drawbar " or "2c. Fold up the drawbar
support stand")
Secure support bolt with linch pin, and recheck before
driving away.

WARNING
Risk of fatal or serious injury exists if the machine
tips over.
• Check the locking bolt position on the
support stand.
CAUTION
Risk of injury from the support stand folding up.
• Be aware that the support stand may au-
tomatically fold up when being locked.
- Pull off cardan shaft (GW) and place on support.
The safety chain must not be used to suspend the
cardan shaft.
CAUTION
Risk of fingers being crushed exists.
• Take care to protect your fingers when
removing the cardan shaft.
- Lower the lower linkage
- Uncouple hydraulic lines (DW) from tractor.
WARNING
Risk of serious hearing damage due to long-term
work with increased noise levels.
The noise level in the workplace can deviate from
the measured value (see Technical Data) particularly
through the differing types of tractor cabins.
• If a noise level of 85 dB(A) is reached
or exceeded, suitable hearing protection
must be provided by the operator (farmer)
(UVV 1.1 § 2).
• If a noise level of 90 dB (A) is reached or
exceeded, then hearing protection MUST
be worn (UVV 1.1 § 16).
- Remove rope from tractor cabin
- Disconnect electro-cable (EL) from tractor
- Uncouple machine from tractor.

• Pay attention to the lower link rail when
uncoupling from the lower linkage.
- Secure machine with anti-theft device
