1. UPDATE SOFTW ARE TO AVOID HIGH
TEMPERATURES ON THE LAMP INFO CABLE
CONNECTORS
1.1 General

Service description
Possible melting risk (distortion) for connectors of the lamp info cable
s.
Root Cause
The temperature limit used in the embedded software (package 1.07.11 or older) to switch
off the lamps might not be sufficient to avoid heating of the connectors.
Recommendation
Replace the existing embedded software (package 1.07.11 or older) of the CLM projector
with package 1.8.7 or higher - as explained hereafter - to assure full compliance with the
specifications of the connector.
Next Steps
In addition, we recommend to check if there is a ny visible damage to the connectors of the
lamp info cables. In case of such damage, you can order a replacement kit free of charge
with number Z3472031K at Barco Customer Services. Instructions on how to replace
these cables are included in the kit.

2.1 Software check
Handle as follow:
1. While the projector is on, press Menu.
Themainmenuopens.
2. Select Service → Ide n tification.
The Identification menu opens. The version is given next to Package.(image2-1,im-
age 2-2, image 2-3)

2.2 Updating the software
Where to find a more recent version of the package
All packages to update a CLM projector can be downloaded for free from Barco’s Partner-
zone, URLh
ttps:\\my.barco.com. Registration is necessary.
If you are not yet registered, click on Partnerzone registration and follow the instructions.
With the created login and password, it is possible to enter the partnerzone where you can
download the a recent package for your projector.
To upgrade your projector, Projector Toolset is required. This software package can also be
downloaded for free from Barco’s Partnerzone together with the Projector Toolset reference
manual.
This manual c ontains a chapter about upgrading your projector. Follow the instructions as
described in that manual.
As Projector Toolset is a stand alone application, it is not necessary to install any other
software. A Java virtual machine is included with this download.
The update package and Projector Toolset can also be downloaded from the Barco web site
via

2.3 Lamp info cable check
Handle as follow:
1. Switch off the projector and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Remove the lamp door. Consult the projector’s user guide for detailed information on
how to remove the lamp door.
3. Unplug the lamp info cables one by one and check for visible damage (indicated with C).

If the connector is damaged, replace the complete cable.
