Using your Steam Iron
1. Remove the plastic protective cover from the sole plate of the iron and clean with a

corresponding fabric type marked on the temperature control knob, with the arrow
marked on the housing (just in front of the knob).
3. If using steam, place the iron onto the sole plate and fill the water reservoir through
the filling aperture using the measuring beaker provided. Do not overfill or exceed
the MAX water level marked on the water reservoir.

Helpful Hints
- Some parts of the iron may have residual oil from the manufacturing process and
may smoke slightly on the first use. Always test the iron before use on an old piece
of fabric to ensure that the sole plate is clean.
- Stubborn creases may be removed by using an additional burst of steam or by
using the water spray feature (press their respective buttons).
- This iron is suitable for use with tap water. If the water in your area is particularly
hard then it is advisable to use distilled or demineralized water.
- The steam function can only be used at the higher ironing temperatures.
6
Cleaning & Maintenance
- It is important to ‘self clean’ the iron on a regular basis to remove any scale.
- Fill the iron half full with water and stand it in the upright position.
- Set the temperature control to MAX, plug into a kitchen socket and switch on.
- Allow the iron to come up to temperature before switching off and removing the
plug from the socket.
- Take the iron to the sink and hold in a horizontal position over the sink.
- Turn the steam control knob to self-clean. The knob will pop up slightly and lift out
and remove the steam control knob.
- Hot water and steam will now come out of the steam holes in the sole plate
washing out impurities and scale.
- When water reservoir is empty, replace the steam control knob and move to the no
steam position.
- Allow the iron to cool completely before removing residues on the sole plate with a
soft cloth soaked in a vinegar / water solution.
- The iron housing can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and then wiped dry. Do not
use detergent or abrasives as these may scratch the surface.
Storage
- Switch off and unplug the iron.
- Empty any water remaining in the water into the sink.
- Stand the iron in the upright position and allow the iron to cool completely
before storing.
NOTE: Do not put vinegar or other descaling solutions into the water reservoir.
