It is important to ‘self clean’ the iron on a regular basis to remove any scale.
1. Fill the iron half full with water and stand it in the upright position.
2. Set the temperature control to MAX, plug into a kitchen socket and switch on.
3. Allow the iron to reach the maximum temperature before switching off and
removing the plug from the socket.
4. Take the iron to the sink and hold in a horizontal position over the sink.
5. Turn the steam control knob to self-clean ( ). The knob will pop up slightly and
lift out and remove the steam control knob.
6. Hot water and steam will now come out of the steam holes in the sole plate
washing out impurities and scale.
7. When water reservoir is empty, replace the steam control knob and move to the no
steam position.
8. Allow the iron to cool completely before removing residues on the sole plate with a
soft cloth soaked in a vinegar / water solution.
9. The iron housing can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and then wiped dry. Do not
use detergent or abrasives as these may scratch the surface.
NOTE: Do not put vinegar or other descaling solutions into the water reservoir.
Storing your Steam Iron
- Switch off and unplug the iron.
- Empty any water remaining in the water reservoir into the sink.
- Stand the iron in the upright position and allow the iron to cool completely before
