3) Feed program restrictive with correction
Restrictive control by required quantity as specified in the reference curve for feed consumption.
Control of feed lines is active (ON) in periods determined by the feed or the light program and the
required quantity of feed per animal. The cross auger is controlled by the sensor in the cross
auger container.
The following control methods can be selected in connection with chain feeding:
1) Feed program OFF
Control of feeding chain and cross auger interrupted (OFF). The system is not running.
2) Feed program, time-controlled
The number of feedings per day must be entered at eight different day numbers. The number of
feedings is 0 (zero) before the first day number. The change in the number of feedings per day
between 2 day numbers is linear, and the number is rounded off to the nearest integer. From the
last day number the system continues with the number specified here. See also the menu survey.

The feedings are distributed equally in the feeding periods specified. Extra feedings are distributed
starting at the last period.
7 chain feedings in 3 feeding periods
If the number of feedings is lower than the number of feeding periods, feeding will take place once
during each feeding period, starting with the first feeding period, till the required number has been
reached.

02.03.12 DOL 95 Broiler, Restriktive Chain Feeding
A feeding period starts with a feeding. The chain runs a whole round. The feeding stops when the
cross auger has not been activated for a given period (Stop of feeding - cross auger). At the end of
a feeding it is checked whether the supplied feed is more or less than the required feed quantity
for the whole feeding period. If it is above, the feeding is finished. If it is below, the feeding
continues during the feeding period*. "Start of next feeding" is decided by the amount of feed
missing plus the estimated eating speed.
*If the remaining amount is smaller than "Min. correction", the feeding stops.
Example:
If "Min. correction" is 50 kg, the feeding will stop when the remaining amount is less than 50 kg
compared to the required amount.
"Max. correction +/- " states the allowed correction compared to the feed reference.
Example:
"Max. correction +/-" is 30/10 %. This means that the required amount during a feeding period can
maximum become 30 % larger or 10 % smaller than the feed reference.
If the feed reference is 500 kg in a feeding period, the current required amount could be between
450 and 650 kg due to too much or too little feed in the previous period.
Normally the feeding chain runs a whole round. However, it is possible to adjust the DOL 95 so
that it stops the chain just at the moment when the required amount is reached.
3) Feed program restrictive with correction (continued)
In restrictive feeding it is possible to "transfer" feed from one feeding period to another. One feeding
period consist of one or more feedings. The start of a feeding period is determined by either the
feed program or the light program.
There are two possibilities:
1) "Stop chain at period total". Stops the chain when the required amount in the period has been
reached.
2) "Stop chain at day total". Stops the chain when the required amount for the day as been
reached.
In a normal broiler production it is not desirable to stop the chain before it has run a whole round.
Therefore both parameters should be set to "No".

3) Feed program restrictive with correction (continued)
Restrictive feeding is normally just active in part of the production period. A start day (Start day
restrictive feeding) and an end day (End day restrictive feeding) state in which part of the
production period the feeding is restrictive. Outside this period feeding is "normal", i.e. purely time-
controlled, according to either the Feed program or the light program.
"Current correction" states the amount of feed (+/-), which has been given too much or too little in
the latest feeding period or, if the feeding period is active, the amount of feed (+/-), which has been
transferred from the previous feeding period.
"Wake up" function: If this function is set to "Yes", it means that the feeding chain starts for a few
seconds one minute before a new feeding. This means that the animals are activated and are
"ready" when the feeding chain starts. See also section 4.2.4.21 in the User's Manual, if
necessary.
