Buttons and Functions

@ Power: Press and hold for three seconds to turn on or off.

@ Audio-out: You may connect headphones or external speakers.

@ USB slot: Charge your Eltee Pad using the USB cable provided. Insert

one end of the USB cable into this slot, and the other end into your

USB plug or a computer. You may need to use your own USB plug or a

converter if the two-pin plug provided does not work in your country.

@ DC charger point: Connect here if you use the other cable provided

with the USB plug.

@ HDMI slot: You may connect your Eltee Pad to a TV monitor by using

your own HDMI cable, using the converter provided.

@ SD card slot: You can insert your own micro SD card to expand the

memory to up to 32GB.

First Time Use

Battery and Charging

@ Please charge your Eltee Pad for at least six hours before the first

use.

@ A registration screen will appear when you turn on your Eltee Pad

for the first time. The purpose of registration is to ensure that your

warranty is activated, and that you get notifications for all updates.

@ When you’re connected to Wi-Fi, simply complete the registration

form with your name and email address, and press the submit button.

You will receive a confirmation email.

@ Your child may take a ‘selfie’ using the front camera and upload it as a

profile photo. This can be changed later.

You can charge your Eltee Pad through a mains power supply by using the

USB plug and the DC cable, or the USB cable. You can also charge it by

connecting the USB cable to a computer. You may need to use your own

USB plug or a converter if the two-pin plug provided does not work in your

country.

@ The screen will show a battery sign when Eltee Pad is charging. You

may go into the ‘Settings’ (explained in the next section) to check the

status of the battery.

@ Whenever the battery gets below 20% there will a notification on the

screen, alerting you to charge the battery.

@ Allow the battery to fully charge before disconnecting.

@ Eltee Pad will go into a sleep mode if not used for five minutes. A quick

tap on the power button will wake it up.

Warning: Young children must not handle any charging cables or power

sockets. 32

Settings

You may access the standard Android settings by clicking ‘More’ on the

Home Screen.

The settings include:

@ Wi-Fi: Turn on or off

@ Ethernet: Turn on or off

@ Data usage: Provides a breakdown and cycle

@ Sound: Offers different preferences

@ Display: Brightness, wallpaper, sleep mode, HDMI, etc.

@ Storage: Shows capacity and available space

@ Battery: Shows details of how much used and percentage left

@ Apps: Shows you what apps are currently running and how much

memory is being used

Personal:

@ Location access: Turn on or off

@ Security: Gives you the option to set up your password

@ Language & input: Includes options for spell checker, dictionary, etc.

@ Backup & reset: Be careful not to erase or reset

Content & Activities

Eltee Pad includes audio, video and games from all four components of

the A+ Program:

1. Time to Learn:

@ This section offers a quiz with multiple-choice questions prepared

from the series.

@ Your child can attempt the quiz by choosing a particular book, one of

the three groups, or the entire series.

@ If you choose a single book, the quiz will ask 15 questions. If you choose

a group of books or the entire series, the quiz will ask 25 questions.

@ If your child achieves a score of 75% or more, he will get an Award of

Achievement, which can be saved in the album as a screen shot, or

uploaded to Facebook.

2. Discover English with Ben & Bella:

@ All the audio and video content of the program is available here.

@ There are 18 videos divided into six categories. Each video has four

options:

On-screen video menu:

While a video is playing, tap the screen to display the video controls. You

will see options to pause, fast-forward or rewind the video.

3. Time for Math:

@ All the games and songs from the program are available here.

@ There are ten games per topic and each game has five levels. Your

child must get at least four levels right to move on to the next game.

@ Your child can also listen to all 24 math songs, which are grouped

under the six topics.

4. Learning Values with Lucy and Wiz:

@ All 15 stories are available here as audio files.

@ If the Eltee Pad is connected to the Internet, your child can download

the stories in the different languages available.

On-screen audio menu:

Audio controls will appear when you are listening to the stories. These will

allow you to pause, fast-forward or rewind the story.

Caring For Your Eltee Pad

There are many other functions/shortcuts provided under the 'More'

option:

General care:

1. Eltee Pad is not a toy; some adult supervision is required.

2. Avoid keeping it in extreme hot or cold temperatures. Also avoid

exposure to dust and fluids.

3. Never dissemble it.

4. Follow the guidelines, under ‘Battery and Charging’ above, to maintain

a good battery life.

Time website when you are connected to the Internet.

@ Edit Profile: you can change your profile picture.

@ Gmail: you need to setup a gmail account to use this.

@ Internet: uses Chrome browser.

@ MS Office: provides Word and Excel apps.

@ Photo Album: all photos and screen shots are saved here.

@ Settings: this is a shortcut to all settings, as explained above.

@ Update: tells you the current version and any updates available.

Troubleshooting

Contacting Your Distributor

Warranty

If Eltee Pad does not turn on:

@ Make sure that you press the power button and hold for at least 3

seconds.

@ Ensure that it’s fully charged.

If there’s no display on the screen when Eltee Pad is on:

@ Eltee Pad goes into sleep mode if not used for five minutes. Gently

press the power button to wake it up.

@ If that doesn’t work, shut it down by pressing the power for three

seconds, then restart.

If there’s no sound while the display is on:

@ Check the volume level through the menu screen.

@ Try a different activity.

Once you have established that there is a problem with the Eltee Pad,

please contact your distributor.

@ The best way to contact your distributor is through:

@ Please ensure you provide the correct phone number and email

address to ensure an efficient service.

@ The customer service staff at your distributor’s office will usually

call you within 48 hours. They will go through the problem and

troubleshooting steps with you over the phone.

@ If the problem can’t be solved, you will be requested to bring the Eltee

Pad to the office, where it will be fixed or replaced, depending on your

warranty.

@ If you do not hear from your distributor within 48 hours, you may send

Your warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase, as per the

following conditions:

1. There’s no need to register for warranty but please keep your invoice/

receipt as proof of purchase.

2. You will need to bring/send the product to your distributor at your

cost.

3. During the warranty period, you will be entitled to free repair or

replacement arising from defects in materials or workmanship of the

product.

4. The warranty will not apply in the case of damage caused by misuse,

negligence, accident, inflow of any liquid, sand or dirt, or excessive

pressure that deformed or damaged the product.

5. The warranty will not apply if the product is modified, tampered with

or repaired in any way by a third party.
