1. Function Test

OPERATION DESCRIPTION

Install 5.0V AC adapter and insert SD card. Power on in Auto mode.
LCD display should be normal, words should be clear and no wave on
LCD.

Shift mode dial to Auto capture. Cover lens with hand. LCD should be
black image. It’s abnormal that LCD display color-inclined image (red
inclined or other color).

In Auto mode. Press W/T button to check if W/T function is normal. Press
wide to capture towards flower in flash forbidden mode. Then use digital
zooming. When in dark place, LCD shouldn’t has serious noise.
Press Down key to set on self-timer mode. TFT-LCD display self-timer
icon and time. Set different time to check if it is correct then use 2S mode
to make self-timer in forced flash mode.
4 Shift to P mode, LCD left corner will display PROG.

Shift to TV mode. LCD should display TV icon. Check if the aperture
will change with different brightness level. Cover lens with hand and
press S1 to check if AF lamp is on. Press Left key twice and press search
dial clockwise. AE compensation value should change in order: 0.0 0.3
0.7 1.0 1.3 2.0 (order reverse while adjust anti-clockwise). Check if
changes are normal.

Shift to AV mode. LCD should display AV icon on upper left. Check if
shutter time changes in different brightness level. Capture one photo
without setting red-eye reduction. A pre-flash should be before capture.
Press Left key twice and adjust search dial clockwise (anti-clock wise
reverse). AE compensation value should change in order as above
instruction.

Shift to M mode, LCD display M icon. Choose left key and adjust search
dial to change aperture and shutter time. Shift aperture to 2.8, press S1;
then shift to 6.7, press S1, to check if the lens aperture change.

Shift to Sport mode. LCD display sport icon. Choose the Manu. mode
then select AE/AWB and White balance in turn. Press SET to select b
y
Up
and Down button. LCD color should change regularly.

Shift to portrait mode, Turn off LCD. Capture a photo of flower with
forced flash.

Choose night mode. Capture towards dark place. Camera should flash
on.

Choose Movie Record mode. LCD display MOV. Choose Menu button.
Try each function to check LCD display is ok. Press Shutter button to
start to record. Use sound box for voice memo. Stop after 3 seconds.

Choose playback mode. Check if the taken photo is good and should be
no color inclination. Select Movie document. Press SET ke
y
to start movie
playback. The sound should be normal. Press left/right/up key to adjust
playback speed. Use search dial to choose photo. LCD should displays
images shifting. Choose left/right key to rotate the images. Press SET key
to confirm operation. Choose Display button, LCD display image
information. The words should be clear with correct information. Press
Tele to magnify the image. Press S1. LCD indicates record and voice
memo allowed. Run Playback to check if video is ok. Choose Wide key.
LCD should display nine thumbnail images. Choose 5-way button to
select image. Choose delete button to cancel single image. Press Menu
button, choose Slide Show key. LCD should display shifting images.
Adjust brightness of LCD and check if LCD display corresponding
changes. Choose protect key to set protection for pictures. Delete the
protected photo and confirm it should not be deleted.

Press Menu key in capture mode to enter menu list. Check if gray part on
left half of LCD has color inclination. Reset LCD color if there is color
inclination.

Choose SET UP mode, check SD card space, FW version, check Reset
system, check languages, mode, auto power off time, etc. after all are ok,
format SD card, power off camera, check the lens draw back, plug out
adapter.

Open batteries cover. Install batteries and SD card. Keep batteries cover
opened and power on. LCD should display related warning. Power off.

Connect power wire. LED red indicator is on. After 3-5 seconds, green
indicator is on. Camera charging begins. Current value of Power supplier
should not exceed 0.5A.
17 Power on in Auto mode. Note that current value should not exceed 1.25A.

Keep camera on without any operation. Current value of power supplier
should not exceed 0.65A.
19 Take out batteries. Keep camera on.
20 Power off if above steps is finished.

4. Firmware Update Procedure
Product : G-Shot P633
To update this camera firmware, you will need to have
1. The new firmware file.
2. One SD card.
3. One card reader.
Please follow the steps below to perform the update process:
1. Prepare a formatted and empty SD card.
2. Insert a SD card to the card reader. Copy the firmware file (file name should be
"dcj631.bin") into the SD card. Make sure the new firmware file is copied to the
SD card.
3. Insert the SD card into the camera.
4. Plug in the AC adapter into the camera.
5. PRESS "UP" & "Power" button at the same time then wait for update process
6. When led is green blink, it mean update ok.
7. Reformat the SD card if you want to use it again.
Note: Don’t remove the power source during firmware update procedures.
