Thank you for purchasing a HUSTLER EZFEED. Please read through this
manual as it contains important information which you need to know.
Please take special note of the safety warnings on pages 6-7, routine
servicing on pages 8-9, operating instructions on pages 10-17 and
troubleshooting on page 1
Correctly maintained and operated this machine will give many years
of service. Should you have any questions please contact the dealer
who supplied you this machine. They have trained technicians who
will be able to help you.

WARRANTY
(EZFEED SM110 | SM130 | SM150 Feedout Wagon)
The goods specified in the Instruction Manual as designed
and supplied by the manufacturer is warranted against faulty
workmanship and defective materials for a period of 24 months from
the date of purchase
Such warranty is subject to the following conditions:
1. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of parts or
machinery sold by the manufacturer and damaged as a result of
the faulty workmanship or materials in such parts or machinery.
It does not extend to any other loss or damage including
consequential loss or damage or loss to other property or persons.
2. Without limiting the generality of paragraph 1 above, this warranty
does not cover the following:
a. Travel expenses.
b. Damage caused by accident, misuse or abuse.
c. Damage to any goods which have been altered or modied by
someone other than the manufacturer or its authorised agent
d. Damage or loss to the goods due to their unsuitability for any
particular use or for using with any particular tractor except
where such use or tractor had been specifically approved by
the manufacturer.
e. Damage or loss where the fitting and installation of the goods
were not carried out by the manufacturer or its authorised
dealer.
f. Paint damage or wear.
g. Wear and tear where Hustler deem the product to be in a high
wear environment.
3. Procedure for recovery under warranty. No loss or damage will
be covered by this warranty unless the following procedure is
followed by the purchaser
a. The loss or damage should be reported immediately to the
dealer (who will contact the manufacturer who will advise
whether it is covered by the warranty and undertake the
necessary action).
“This warranty shall be interpreted according to the laws of New Zealand and
the parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.

SAFETY WARNINGS
Take EXTREME CARE when connecting the tow bar to the tractor.
Ensure the tractor service brake is applied before leaving the cab.
Ensure the correct size drawbar pin and/or Swift Hitch is used.
Ensure a correctly sized tractor is used to operate the wagon.
Inspect the tow eye for damage or wear BEFORE each use. If using
Swift Hitch, ENSURE the hitch safety latch is working correctly and
the spring is functioning. If the spring fails it could cause the trailer
to come disconnected from the tow bar.
All hydraulic parts heat up during operation, DO NOT TOUCH.
Whilst the machine is in operation persons should not be near to or
touch these components.
ALL persons must be kept well clear of machine in operation. Only
the operator should be within 5 metres of the machine during
operation.
STAY WELL CLEAR of the break-away tail door of the machine
during operation and whilst loaded which may pop open without
warning.
NO persons should be in/on or near the machine whilst it is in
motions or during operation. If clearing product from the wagon,
ALWAYS turn off the tractor and disconnect the hydraulic hoses.
Watch CAREFULLY when driving for over-width and tail-swing when
travelling through gateways or near objects or people.
Always BE AWARE of your surroundings, this is a large machine
with blind spots, make sure you always know where persons and
stock are.
If the tow bar is connected to a tractor, BEFORE attempting
maintenance or any work, ensure the tractor engine is shut off and
no one is near the hydraulic controls.
DO NOT allow any person(s) to ride on the tow bar or trailed
machine at ANY time.
ALWAYS lift the tow bar to the correct height specified in the
‘Operating Instruction.

Take EXTREME CARE when towing over uneven or sloped ground.
The angle changes the balance point and could tip the vehicle over.
The tractor and trailer manufacturer capacity and angle ratings
must be adhered to.
NO alteration or modification is to be done on this machine unless
undertaken or authorised by Hustler. This will void warranty.
KEEP CLEAR of moving parts of the machine. There are many areas
that may pinch a hand, fingers or body parts.
REGULARLY check the machine for signs of wear, stress or damage.
ENSURE any parts are repaired/replaced if needed.
ENSURE the tyre pressures are kept at the recommended
amount. Check the tyre pressures weekly or even daily in high-
use situations. Refer to the maintenance guide for recommended
pressures.
ENSURE the trailer jack is lifted high enough to clear the ground
when driving over uneven ground.
TAKE CARE while doing maintenance for any sharp points in the
machine, especially around the feed bars.
DO NOT tow the machine on public roads without ensuring it
conforms to local laws. Hustler sells an optional road safety kit
which includes Brake, Indicator, and Side Marker Lights, however, it
is up to the operator to ensure this meets local laws.
Hustler Equipment recommend using a rated safety chain from the
trailed unit to either the tractor or the SWITCH HITCH. It is for the
operator to check the law of their country/state regarding towing
a trailer unit. Hustler Equipment do not recommend driving over
undulating terrain or on public roads using the SWIFT HITCH.

MAINTENANCE
(also do this before initial operation)
Grease all (20) grease points, grease the
swivel hitch regularly.
Check and adjust all conveyor and
elevator chains. The cross floor
should be just lifted of the return rail
underneath the centre of the cross floor.
Elevator chain should be just hanging
below catcher, between 5 and no more
than 10mm between roller and return
rail
After the first 10 hours of operation
check chain tensions, joiners Elevator
tilt ram pins and clips. Check for oil
leaks, loose bolts. Check wheel bearings
are tight, wheel nuts are tight. Check
correct level oil in gearbox’s

shaft bearings, oil level in gearbox

Check for damaged electrical wiring
around the drawbar / tractor area, check
correct functionality of the electric

In a salty atmosphere keep grease/oil on

Regularly check the machine for signs
of wear, stress or damage. Ensure any
parts are repaired/replaced if needed

Tail Gate Latch Adjustment Factory set
to 30mm thread as shown, if gate open
to easily tighten spring tension untill
required tension is obtained
Brake Adjustment
Brakes are pre-set at the factory, but
as things wear, some adjustments can
be made. The brake lever is fitted onto
a splined shaft. To adjust remove this
lever, turn slighty towards the brake ram
and re fit on the next spline, this is still
not enough adjustment, then repeat until
adjustment is reached.

OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
Connecting the Wagon onto Tractor.
Connect the drawbar eye to the Tractor tow pin or quick hitch if
using one.
Connect the hydraulic hoses to the tractor
Connect the lights plug (if lights are fitted on the wagon) to the
tractor
Loading the Wagon
Ensure the tail door is latched shut
Fill the rear portion of the wagon with silage or feed
Storage
The machine can be stored outside as long as the bonnet is kept
closed to keep the weather out.
Do not leave silage or feed sitting in the wagon for too long – it
may compost or even get hot in the sun and potentially catch fire.
After sitting for a while, especially outside, ensure that the chains
and axles etc are greased as they can become very dry. Perform
maintenance checks when bringing the machine out of storage.

Do
Use a tractor big enough for the job, has at least 80 Litres per
minute oil flow and always drive safely to the conditions.
Drive slowly when loaded
Connect the drawbar to tractor via drawbar or SWIFT HITCH.
If using a SWIFT HITCH, with the tractor and trailed unit sitting
on level ground, lift the SWIFT HITCH up to make the trailed
unit level.
Ensure the trailer jack is lifted well clear of the ground so it
will not hit when on uneven ground.
We recommend a safety chain is connected from the trailer to
either the SWITCH HITCH or the tractor.
Clean the hydraulic connectors and couple to tractors
hydraulic banks, Elevator tilt hoses into bank 1 and the
machine into bank 2.
Connect the electric control and lights if fitted.
Adjust tractors hydraulic flow to 60-80 Litres per minute.
Check direction of elevator rotation prior to feeding.
Load feed material in to machine. Best to break up bulky
product to help with smooth flow of product when feeding
out.

Do Not
Tow this machine on a slope greater than 12deg.
Actuate the control levers backward and forwards to ‘free’ the load
if the floor or elevator chains become jammed. As this can cause
damage to drives and hydraulics.
Overload the machine with material.
Ride on the drawbar.
Water blast the load cell head unit, load cells or junction box.
Apply excessive material pressure on to elevator.
Weld on the machine with a load cells fitted.
Leave strings in machine during or after operation
Load above sides unless on flat ground as product may fall,
maximum permissible load above sides on flat ground is not more
than 600mm.
Overload your machine, check model specifications for correct
loading capacity.
Exceed 30Kph when loaded, and only 40Kph max when empty.

HYDRAULIC ADJUSTMENTS
Hydraulic Adjustments
This section is an explanation of what each adjustment does. For setup
instructions & defaults, refer to the Hydraulic Setup Pages following.
Green Dial - Arrow A – Feed Rate (Load Sensing Pressure).
Turn clockwise to increase the amount of feed the bed floor is
putting onto the elevator. When feeding really sticky/wet/heavy
loads, reduce this rate.
Arrow B – Rear Floor Speed. Turn the Allen key counter-
clockwise to increase the rear floor speed. Factory Setting: 1
turn and 5 flats (300°) counter-clockwise from closed (in).
Silver Dial – Arrow C – Cross Conveyor speed adjustment.
Factory Setting: Fully counter-clockwise (slow), turn clockwise
to increase speed.
Manual Side Shift
Allen Key - Arrow D – System pressure. Factory setting: 2050
psi = 4 turns counter-clockwise from closed (in).
ONLY TO BE SET BY QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS!
This should never need to be adjusted. Before adjusting attach
a pressure gauge to the port shown with Arrow F below. Fit
valve, gauge and turn valve off. Run the machine and check the
pressure reading. This must not exceed 2500psi (172 bar).
Automatic Side Shift
Allen Key - Arrow G & H – Dictates pressure required for cross
floor direction change Factory Setting: 2000psi

HYDRAULIC SETUP
Overview
Your EzFeed Silage wagon can be configured in two ways:
Series or Parallel circuit.
Before making any adjustments, you need to check your
machine is set to the correct mode.
The default factory setting for all machines is Series. This will
work for any situation with most tractors that deliver at least
50lpm and 2500psi. (Machines produced prior to Dec 2022
were set to Parallel from factory. These are recommmended to
be run in Series as per these guidelines.)
The only reason to change to Parallel mode is if you want to
feed product out at a faster rate than is possible with Series
mode, and have a tractor capable of producing very high oil flow
(65-80L) at the desired operating RPM.
Setting the Ezfeed to Series or Parallel Mode
You will place a hydraulic hose in the port that relates to the
mode you want to run in, and a bung in the other one.

How to Setup the EZFEED SM Dials to Factory Settings
1. Setting the Bed Floor Adjustment Dial (Black Dial B).
a. Using a 5/32 Allen Key (for all
adjustments), undo the nut, and wind
the adjustment all the way in, then
back out 1 turn and 5 flats (300°).This
is equivalent to 6rpm at the shaft of
the bed floor gearbox.
b. Lock the lock nut using a 9/16 spanner.
2. Setting the Cross Floor Speed Adjustment
Dial (Silver Dial C)
a. Wind the adjustment right in using the allen
key.
b. Wind the nut in loosely.
c. Screw the Silver Dial onto the thread,
and lock it against the nut.
d. Wind the dial all the way out by hand.

3. Setting the Load Sensing Adjustment Dial (Green Dial A).
a. Loosen the adjustment nut, wind the adjustor all
the way in (Clockwise) using the Allen key, then
out 4 turns. Ensure the adjustor does not move
for the rest of the steps! TIP: Leave the Allen key
in the adjustor while you do this.
b. Place the arrow indicator on the thread, and
wind the nut in by hand until there is 6mm
thread sticking out
c. Screw the Green Dial onto the thread. Ensure
the arrow head is resting on the max position
stopper. Wind the dial in the rest of the way and
lock it up against the nut. Ensure the allen key
has not moved.
