the instrument in the best possible condition.

Safety Guidelines
Do not place any heavy object on the instrument.
Avoid severe impact or rough handling that leads
to damaging the instrument.
Do not discharge static electricity to the instrument.
Use only mating connectors, not bare wires, for the
terminals.
Ensure signals to the RF input do not exceed
+30dBm.
Do not block the cooling fan opening.
Do not disassemble the instrument unless you are
qualified.
(Measurement categories) EN 61010-1:2010 specifies the
measurement categories and their requirements as follows. The
instrument falls under overvoltage category II.
Overvoltage category IV is for equipment installed at or near
the origin of supply to a building, between the building
entrance and the main distribution board.
Overvoltage category III is for equipment intended to form
part of a building wiring installation.
Overvoltage category II is for equipment intended to be
supplied from the building wiring.
Overvoltage category I is not relevant to this standard.
AC Input voltage range: 100V~240V (Max. 82W)
Frequency: 50 - 60Hz
To avoid electrical shock connect the protective
grounding conductor of the AC power cord to an
earth ground.

Power Cord
Requirements
The connector that plugs into the socket outlet must
be a grounding-type male plug designed for use in
your region. It must have certification marks showing
certification by an agency in your region. The
connectors that plug into the Appliance Inlets (AC
receptacle) must be an IEC 60320, sheet C13, female
connector. If the power cord supplied with the system
does not meet requirements for use in your region
discard the cord, do not use with adapters.
Cleaning
Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.
Use a soft cloth dampened in a solution of mild
detergent and water. Do not spray any liquid.
Do not use chemicals containing harsh material
such as benzene, toluene, xylene, and acetone.

Environment
Location: Indoor, no direct sunlight, dust free,
almost non-conductive pollution (Note below)
Temperature: 5°C to 45°C
Humidity: <90% (non condensing)
(Pollution Degree) EN 61010-1:2010 specifies the pollution
degrees and their requirements as follows. The instrument falls
under degree 2.
Pollution refers to “addition of foreign matter, solid, liquid, or
gaseous (ionized gases), that may produce a reduction of
dielectric strength or surface resistivity”.
Pollution degree 1: No pollution or only dry, non-conductive
pollution occurs. The pollution has no influence.
Pollution degree 2: Normally only non-conductive pollution
occurs. Occasionally, however, a temporary conductivity
caused by condensation must be expected.
Pollution degree 3: Conductive pollution occurs, or dry, non-
conductive pollution occurs which becomes conductive due
to condensation which is expected. In such conditions,
equipment is normally protected against exposure to direct
sunlight, precipitation, and full wind pressure, but neither
temperature nor humidity is controlled.

C-1200 Introduction
C-1200, a LoRa tester with 4 channels TRx
ports supporting both Sub-GHz and 2.4
GHz frequency band, is able to provide
complete parameter setting of both LoRa
and (G) FSK modulated signals.

First Use Instructions
Use the procedures below when first using the C-1200 to tilt the
stand, power up the instrument, update the firmware and to
restore the default settings. Lastly, the Conventions sections will
introduce you to the basic operating conventions used throughout
the user manual.
Power Up
Steps
1. Insert the AC power cord into the power socket.
The PWR LED indicator lights in orange which
mean that the C-1200 is in standby mode.
PWR SYS
2. Press the power button for a few seconds to
turn the C-1200 on.
3. The PWR LED indicator turns from orange to
green, The C-1200 will start to boot up.
PWR SYS
Note
It takes a little less than 1 minute for the C-1200
to fully startup.

Power Down
Description
The C-1200 has two methods to power down:
Normal and Forced Power Down.
The normal power down method will save the
system state and end any running processes. The
state is saved for the next time the instrument is
turned back on.
The forced power down method only does a
minimum state save.
Normal Power
Down
Press the power button. The system will
automatically handle the power down procedure
in the following order:
The system state is saved.
Outstanding processes are closed in sequence.
The system enters standby mode (the power
key changes from orange to blue).
Note
The process takes about 10 seconds.
Forced Power
Down
Press and hold the power button for 4 seconds
until the system turns off and the power button
turns blue.
Note
The forced power down mode might cause the C-
1200 to perform a longer system check the next
time it is powered up.

System status
The C-1200 has four status indicators. Each represents a different
state.
PWR LED
PWR SYS
Power indictor.
This indicator lights in orange when the AC
power cord is inserted to the power socket of
the C-1200.
PWR SYS
This indicator lights in green when the power
switch is turned on.
SYS LED
PWR SYS
System indicator. This indicator lights in
green when the system booting of C-1200 is
complete and the software of C-1200 is being
executed.
LAN LED
SYS LAN
LAN indicator. The indicator lights in green
when connection is established successfully.
STA LED
LAN STA
Status indicator.
This indicator lights in green when the system
booting of the C-1200 is complete.
LAN STA
The indicator will flash when the C-1200 is
booting and shutting down.
If the system booting of the C-1200 is not
complete, the indicator flashes in green for 1
second once. In this case, the C-1200 may
remain in the booting state or enter to support
mode.
The indicator flashing in green for 0.5 second
once when the firmware of the C-1200 is being

updated.
RF input LED
The C-1200 has four RF inputs. The
exterior of selected RF input port will light
in blue.

exterior of selected RF ouput port will light
in green.

When first connecting to C1200 via internet, it is available to obtain
the IP address of unit by the following methods.
1. Obtain IP address via NI MAX.
2. Obtain IP address via the internal web_page of unit.
Go to “https://support.apple.com/kb/DL999?locale=en_US
and download “Download Bonjour Print Services for Windows”
software. After installation, obtain unit model name via *idn?,
e.g., GWINSTEK,GSP9330,KL730819,V4.0.0.7, of which the “819”
from “KL730819” of the 3rd segment applies to the “XXX” of
http://gsp9300-XXX.local. For instance, http://gsp9300-
819.local. And here comes the other example for reference:
GWINSTEK,C-1200,Sample003,V4.1.0.6, of which the “003” from
“Sample003” of the 3rd segment applies to the “XXX” of
http://C-1200-XXX.local. For instance, http://C-1200-003.local,
which user can copy to browser and obtain the IP address as the
red indicator below.

3. When IP address is unknown or it is unavailable to connect with
Internet, press the IR Reset button in the rear panel and the IP
will be reassigned as the follows:
IP Address 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1
Firmware Update
Description
The C-1200 allows the firmware to be updated by
end-users. Before using the C-1200, please ask
your local distributor for the latest firmware.
System version
Before updating the firmware, please check the
firmware version.

Method 1: Via USB flash drive
Steps
1. Check the firmware version through * idn?.
The firmware version should be V3.0 above.
2. Insert the USB flash drive with
updated file in the folder gsp3310
of root directory to the USB port
on the C-1200 front panel. And
then use the following command
to updated the system.
:SYSTem:UPDate
3. The STA indicator on the front
panel lights up during the update
process.
4. The system will automatically restart.
Note
The update process may take a few minutes.
