NOTE: The Owner’s Manual included with the Security
Attachment should be placed in the glove box for future
reference. The Owner’s Manual included with the Security
System should be discarded.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio,
then write down the frequencies for the preset
buttons.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Check to be sure the switch on the control unit is in
the correct mode for the HX, EX and VP models.

6. Remove the left kick panel (two clips, and slide back
while pulling its lower end inside).
7. Remove the upper steering column cover (three
screws and six clips).

4. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover:
Remove the three screws.
Gently pull along the top to release the three
retaining clips.
Unplug the connector(s) and remove the cover.
5. Remove the knee bolster (two bolts).

11. Carefully push the LED terminals into the 2-pin
connector from the kit.
Installing the Disarm Switch
12. Mark the dashboard lower cover in the area shown.
While wearing eye protection, lightly center-punch
the mark, and drill a 12 mm hole through the center-
punched mark.

Intalling the LED
8. Measure and mark the upper steering column cover
removed in step 7, and lightly center-punch the
mark.
9. While wearing eye protection, drill a 5.5 mm hole
through the center-punched mark. Remove all burrs.
10. Route the terminal ends of the LED through the hole
you just drilled, and secure the LED with the push
nut. Install the push nut securely.

Installing the Control Unit
SLOT
13. Route the terminal ends of the disarm switch
harness through the 12 mm hole you just drilled in
the dashboard lower cover. Secure the disarm switch
on the dashboard lower cover using the 12 mm and
washer provided. Tighten the nut securely.
14. Firmly push the terminals of the disarm switch into
the 3-pin connector provided until they click into
position.
15. Pull gently on the wires to verify that they are locked
in the connector. Make sure that the terminals are
positioned properly, then lock the connector.

Insert the tabs into the grooves, slide
the lock toward the front, and press
down on the end.
16. Loosen the bolt on the right of the steering shaft,
then slide the slot of the control bracket under the
head of the bolt you just loosened.

17. Align the upper hole in the control unit bracket with
the hole in the dash, and install the 6 x 12 mm
flange bolt supplied. Tighten the 6 x 12 mm bolt, and
the bolt you loosened in step 16 securely.
On A/T model vehicles, attach the control unit
bracket under the interlock control unit, and reuse
the existing bolt.

20. Remove number 3 fuse from the bottom row of the
fuse box.
(Discard.)

21. Push the two fuses from the kit into the number 3
and number 6 slots in the fuse box.
22. Remove the fuse box cover from the driver's
dashboard lower cover; then remove and discard the
existing fuse label. Attach the fuse box label from
the kit to the fuse box cover.

18. Position the control unit on the control bracket, and
install the two collars and two 4 x 30 mm bolts.
19. Locate the 22-pin connector blue-taped to the
vehicle harness, and remove the blue tape to free
the connector. Plug the 22-pin connector you just
freed into the control unit.

23. Locate the 4-pin and 6-pin connectors blue-taped to
the vehicle harness behind the fuse box.
24. Locate the 4-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle
harness above the fuse box, and remove the tape to
free the connector. Plug the 4-pin relay into the 4-pin
connector you just freed, then secure the relay to
the vehicle harness with the wire tie.
25. Locate the 6-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle
harness above the fuse box, and remove the tape to
free the connector. Remove the short connector from
the 6-pin connector, and plug the 6-pin relay from the
kit into the 6-pin connector. Secure the relay to the
vehicle harness with the wire ties.

26. Install the upper steering column cover. Locate
the 2-pin connector blue-taped to the vehicle
harness, and remove the blue tape to free the
connector. Get the resistor supplied with the
attachment kit, plug one end of the resistor into
the 2-pin connector you just freed and the other
end into the 2-pin connector from the LED.
27. Tape the resistor to the vehicle harness using
electrical tape. Secure the LED harness to the
vehicle harness with the three short wire ties in
the areas shown.
28. Install the lower steering column cover. Do not pinch
the LED harness with the cover.

INSPECTION
31. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly
and all connectors are plugged in.
32. Reinstall all removed parts.
33. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
34. Check operation of the Security System according
to the Owner’s Manual supplied in the Security
Attachment.
35. Put the Security System Attachment Owner’s
Manual in the glove box for your customer.
29. Behind the left side of the fuse box, locate the 3-pin
connector blue-taped to the vehicle harness, and
remove the blue tape to free the connector. Plug the
3-pin connector you just freed into the 3-pin
connector from the disarm switch.

30. Wrap half of a cushion tape around the 3-pin
connectors, then secure them to the vehicle harness
with one wire tie as shown.
