FOREWORD
We thank you for the confi dence you
have placed in our company by way of
choosing the SCOOTER.
The SCOOTER is a technical aid. It is
subject to explanations, requires reg-
ular care and can cause danger when
used improperly. The correct handling
must therefore be learned.
This manual is to help you get accus-
tomed to the handling of your SCOOT-
ER as well as to prevent accidents.

☞ Please note that the illustrated
equipment variants can deviate
from your model.
☞ The tools required for adjustments
and maintenance is listed under
chapter < Technical Data >.

vehicle together with the parents,
supervisor or attendant.

ACCEPTANCE
All products are checked for faults
in the factory and packed in special
boxes.
☞ Note:
We nevertheless ask you, immedi-
ately after receipt of the SCOOTER
best while the delivery agent is
present – to check for any damag-
es that might have occurred during
transport.
Please arrange the following if you
believe damage occurred during
transport:
a) Draw up a DAMAGE REPORT – the
carrier is required to do this.
b) Draw up a LETTER OF SUBROGA-
TION – you assign to the supplier
all claims resulting from this dam-
age.
c) Send back the BILL OF LADING, the
DAMAGE REPORT and the LETTER
OF SUBROGATION to us.
We are unable to accept any claims
for compensation if you fail to ob-
serve these instructions or notify us
of damage after the goods have been
accepted.
☞ Note:
The packaging of the SCOOTER
should be stored for a further
transport that might become nec-
essary.

Director
The desired driving speed is achieved
through activation of the director via
the:
– the actuator as a seesaw device for
thumb activation (standard) ,
– the actuator as a thumb or fi nger
seesaw lever (option) (1) ,
– acceleration rotary grip (option)
(2),
– foot accelerator (option) (3).

Specifi cations
The SCOOTER is an environment-
friendly electric vehicle. It was de-
veloped to extend the mobility of
persons with health-related or age-re-
lated restrictions.
☞ The SCOOTER fulfi ls the < demands
of handicapped people > accord-
ing to EN 614-1.
Use
!
Attention:
The general capability of the driv-
er to participate in traffi c must be
given!
The SCOOTER is designated for driv-
ing on paved surface outdoors and
in spacious indoor areas (for example
shopping centres).
It serves exclusively for the convey-
ance of a sitting person.
Functional checks
The functions and safety of the
SCOOTER must be checked before the
start of each journey.

Tips for accident prevention
Driving in street traffi c
The valid traffi c regulations must be
observed and abided when participat-
ing in public traffi c.
▲ Carry out a brief braking and steer-
ing test at a – very low speed – af-
ter the initial movement.
▲ With the curve speed reduction
switched off there is an increased
danger of tilting in curves, espe-
cially for 3-wheel models.
– The driving manner is to be
adapted to the respective driving
situation. – Danger of accidents!
Safety information
▲ While driving, only activate the
drumbrake in emergency situa-
tions.
▲ The attachment/detachment of ac-
cessories/components can alter the
driving behaviour.
▲ Do not expose the SCOOTER to ex-
treme weather conditions.
▲ Protect the upholstery with a cover
and/or park the SCOOTER in a pro-
tected area.
▲ Temperature infl uences through
lamps, sun or other sources of
warmth can damage the uphol-
stery parts, handgrips and panel-
ling or heat them up so much that
it may lead to scorching when they
come in contact with bare skin.
– Protect bare and heat sensitive
skin accordingly.
Locking the SCOOTER
Pull out the driving key to prevent an
unauthorised use of the SCOOTER.
Secure the SCOOTER against uninten-
tional rolling motion in push mode by
activating the hand brake.

Note:
This vehicle corresponds to the re-
spective demands of the EC-direc-
tive 93/42 EWG.
However, the possibility of interfer-
ence from high-frequency radiation
from other electrical equipment can-
not be excluded.
High-frequency radiation exists in the
proximity of, for example, radar and
broadcasting stations, all types of ra-
dio sets and radio telephones. Stop
the SCOOTER and switch it off imme-
diately if it reacts in an uncontrolled
manner or causes interference to oth-
er electronic devices.
☞ Note:
The SCOOTER can disturb highly
sensitive, electromagnetic fi elds of
other electronic devices, as for ex-
ample antitheft devices in stores.
The connection of other electrical de-
vices can also cause malfunctions.

Attention:
Generally do not operate the
SCOOTER within the direct sur-
rounding of medical devices with
a high hazard potential and/or life
retaining function as well as diag-
nostic equipment.

Drive-/push mode
☞
Note:
☞ The weight of the SCOOTER makes
corresponding steering and push-
ing forces necessary.
☞ Switch the SCOOTER into the push
mode only for manoeuvring on a
level surface.
Selecting the motor mode
For this insert the driving key into the
socket and turn 90° clockwise into the
ON position (1).
☞ The SCOOTER is now ready for
driving.
Selecting the push mode
For this turn the driving key into the
45°-locking position (2). This prese-
lects the push mode.
The SCOOTER can be pushed as long
as the push-mode key (3) is pressed
down.

Attention:
The functions and safety of the
SCOOTER must be checked before
the start of each journey.
Before fi rst operation the batteries
should be charged through the charg-
ing socket (1).
☞ Therefore observe chapter < Charg-
ing batteries >.

Attention:
Only enter or exit the seat of the
SCOOTER when the driving key is
pulled.
– An unintentional movement of
the accelerator lever can cause an
uncontrolled movement of the
SCOOTER!
– Danger of accident!
• Do not insert objects, other than
the driving key, resp. the battery
charging plug into the correspond-
ing sockets.
– Danger of short circuit!

Adjusting the steering column
For stepless adjustment of the steer-
ing column press the locking lever (1)
down.
!
Attention:
Hold onto the steering column
with one hand at the handle bar in
order to prevent it from uninten-
tionally swivelling down.
– Danger of injury!
Let go of the locking lever when the
steering column is in the desired posi-
tion.
Switching on the SCOOTER
To switch on the SCOOTER (3) insert
the driving key into the lock of the
steering column fi rst and turn 90°
clockwise (2).

Attention:
Do not insert anything other than
the driving key into the drive lock.
– Danger of short circuit!

☞ Note:
Do not move the director during
the initiation phase of about one
second.
– The electronic is ready when the
speed gauge (1) shows up in the
LCD-display.
Battery charge condition
After activation the symbol of the
battery gauge (2) shows the battery
charging condition.
☞ Note:
The value shown depends on the
ambient temperature, the age of
the battery and the type of load. It
should therefore only be taken as
an approximate value.
▲ If an empty battery symbol is
shown in the LCD-display the bat-
teries should be charged immedi-
ately.
▲ If the LCD-display shows an Error
E00 to E99 instead of the speed
value (1), an error according to the
error list has occurred.

paragraph < Fault clearance >.
▲ If the LCD-display shows Error E10
instead of the speed value (1), the
director was moved too soon dur-
ing the initiation phase.
– Release the director and switch
the SCOOTER off and on again.
– Wait for the initiation phase to
complete.

Recharging batteries
The batteries should be charged right
after the use of the SCOOTER so that
the complete driving performance is
available the next day.
Every battery has a normal "self-dis-
charge". The batteries should be
recharged once a month when the
SCOOTER is not used for a long pe-
riod of time. This keeps the SCOOTER
ready for use.
Batteries should only be charged with
a battery charger that is suitable for
the type and rating of the batteries.
The guarantee is only preserved to
its full extent when battery chargers
supplied and recommended by us are
used.
