INTRODUCTION

We thank you for the conﬁdence you

have placed in our company by way of

choosing the SCOOTER.

The model you selected fulﬁls your

desire for mobility and more inde-

pendence.

As any other vehicle, the SCOOTER is

a technical aid. It is subject to expla-

nations, requires regular care and can

cause danger when used improperly.

The correct handling must therefore

be learned. This operating manual

is to help you get accustomed to the

handling of your SCOOTER as well as

to prevent accidents.

☞ Note:

Please note that the illustrated

equipment variants can deviate

from your model.

We have therefore also listed chapters

with options that might not be appli-

cable for your vehicle.

Children and juveniles should read

INDICATIONS

If the following indications occur we

recommend the application of this

mobility product:

☞ Walking disability resp. extremely

limited walking ability as part of

the basic need to move around in

your own home.

☞ Provision with an electronic vehi-

cle for indoor use is only indicated

when the use of manual wheel-

chairs is no longer possible due to

the handicap but the electronic

vehicle can still be operated appro-

priately.

ACCEPTANCE

All products are checked for faults

in the factory and packed in special

boxes.

☞ Note:

However, we request that you

check the vehicle for possible

transport damage immediately on

receipt – preferably in the pres-

ence of the carrier.

☞ Note:

The packaging of the SCOOTER

should be stored for a further

transport that might become nec-

essary.

USE

With mounted seat and arm supports,

the SCOOTER serves solely to trans-

port a sitting person. Other pulling or

transporting uses do not comply with

its intended purpose.

This model is a SCOOTER, for indoor

use on ﬁrm, level surfaces.

The SCOOTER offers manifold adjust-

ment possibilities to individual body

dimensions.

The adjustment of the SCOOTER

should be carried out by your special-

ist dealer before ﬁrst use. The proce-

dure considers the driving capabilities,

the physical limitations of the user

and the main area of application of

the SCOOTER.

Attention:

Always have adaptation and ad-

justment work carried out by a

specialist dealer.

SPECIFICATIONS

The SCOOTER is an environment-

friendly electronic vehicle. It was de-

veloped to extend the mobility of

persons with health-related or age-

related restrictions.

☞ The model has been assigned the

'Use Class A' as per the EN12184

standard.

ADJUSTMENT

The specialist dealer hands your

SCOOTER over under consideration

of all relevant safety regulations in an

operationally ready state and adjust-

ed to your demands.

☞ Note:

☞ We recommend a regular check

of the adjustments with the goal

of achieving a long term optimal

provision even in case of changing

disease-/handicap patterns of the

user. Especially for children and

juveniles an adjustment every 6

months is recommendable.

☞ We recommend regular physical

check ups by a doctor in order to

ensure active use of the SCOOTER.

☞ Retrospective adjustments should

be carried out solely by the special-

ist dealer!

LIFESPAN

We expect an average lifespan of

about 5 years for this product, as far

as the product is applied for its des-

ignated purpose and all maintenance

and service guidelines.

The lifespan of your product depends

upon the frequency of use, the appli-

cation environment and care.

The implementation of spare parts

can prolong the lifespan of the prod-

uct. As a rule spare parts are available

up to 5 years after production is dis-

continued.

☞ The indicated lifespan does not

constitute additional guarantee.

The battery charging socket (4) is pro-

tected by a cover plate that can be

swivelled to the side.

Overload safety device

In case of and overload the safety but-

ton (5) jumps out a couple of millim-

eters.

HANDLING THE SCOOT-

Functional checks

The functions and safety of the

SCOOTER must be checked before the

start of each journey.

Locking the SCOOTER

Pull out the driving key (1) to prevent

an unauthorised use of the SCOOTER.

Drive key

Position of drive key

Position ON

The driving key (1) is inserted as far

as possible into the driving key socket

(2).

– To switch on the SCOOTER insert

the driving key as far as possible

into the driving key socket (2).

☞ The drive mode is activated.

Position OFF

– To switch off the SCOOTER pull out

the driving key (3).

☞ The SCOOTER is switched off.

DRIVE-/PUSH MODE

☞ Note:

☞ Only switch the SCOOTER to push

mode on level, ﬁrm surfaces for

shunting.

☞ For shunting the SCOOTER grab

hold of the steering column and

seat surface.

Selecting the push mode

First bring the drive key into the driv-

ing key position OFF by pulling it off.

☞ The SCOOTER is now switched off.

– To establish push mode, ﬁrst press

the locking button (1), then push

the selection lever toward the back

(2).

Selecting the motor mode

For the driving mode the selection le-

ver must have locked into place.

– Push the selection lever toward the

front (3) to switch to driving mode.

Afterwards insert the drive key as far

as possible into the drive key socket.

This engages the drive mode.

☞ The SCOOTER is now ready for use.

Attention:

Do not switch the selection lever to

push mode while driving!

SELECTING THE OPERA-

TION

In order to obtain operational readi-

ness of the SCOOTER the following

directions are to be carried out in the

indicated order.

!

Attention:

Only enter or exit the seat of the

SCOOTER, when the selection le-

ver for drive-/push mode is in drive

mode (3) and the driving key is

pulled off.

– An unintentional movement of

the actuator can cause an uncon-

trolled movement of the SCOOT-

ER!

– Danger of accidents!

• Do not insert objects, other than

the driving key, resp. the battery

charging plug into the correspond-

ing sockets.

– Danger of short circuit!

1. Selecting the motor mode

☞ View chapter < Drive-/push

mode >.

2. Check the overload safety

When the overload safety (2) has per-

ceivably jumped out, it can be pressed

down again after about one minute

cool down.

3. Adjusting the angle of the

steering column

The steering column angle is to be

adjusted so that the SCOOTER can be

steered comfortably and safely.

– In order to adjust the steering col-

umn angle the attachment wheel

(1) must be loosened until the

toothing runs freely.

!

Attention:

In doing so grab onto the steer-

ing column with one hand in order

to prevent it from unintentionally

swivelling down.

– Danger of injury!

– Retighten the attachment wheel

(1) when the desired position of

the steering column is reached.

☞ The toothing grips ﬁrmly through

slight movements of the steering

column during tightening.

!

Attention:

Check the secure ﬁt of the steering

column angle (1).

4. Loosen the steering column

lock

☞ Before driving, ensure that the

steering column lock is released

[2]!

☞ See section entitled < Steering col-

umn >.

5. Switching on the SCOOTER

For activation insert the drive key (1)

into the drive key socket.

☞ After being switched on the elec-

tronic conducts a self test.

– Do not move the actuator (3)

during the activation phase of

about one second.

The SCOOTER is ready fro operation

when the control diode for operation-

al readiness (2) light up constantly.

☞ Note:

If the control diode (2) blinks af-

ter the initiation phase of about

one second, the actuator (3) might

have been moved too early.

– In this case switch the SCOOTER off

and back on again.

If the control diode for operational

readiness (2) continues to blink, there

might be a fault indication.

☞ Therefore view chapter < Fault cor-

rection >.

PRE-OPERATION CHECKS

Before starting to drive, the following

should be checked:

☞ Ensure that the steering column

lock is released!

☞ the battery charge level (1),

☞ the preselected maximum ﬁnal

speed setting (2).

– Observe chapter < Preselection of

ﬁnal speed >.

!

Attention:

The functions and safety of the

SCOOTER must be checked before

the start of each journey.

BATTERY GAUGE

General information:

☞ The value shown depends on the

ambient temperature, the age of

the battery and the type of load. It

should therefore only be taken as

an approximate value.

☞ A sufﬁciently exact display of the

battery charge can only be shown

while driving on level surfaces.

– Uphill/downhill travel falsiﬁes

the indication.

☞ The kilometric performance of the

SCOOTER respectively the batter-

ies, should be tested at least once.

☞ If the indicator gauge for opera-

tional readiness (3) blinks slowly

the batteries should be charged.

☞ If the display for operational readi-

ness (3) blinks rapidly or at differ-

ent intervals, an error has occurred.

BATTERIES

The batteries are located inside the

removable battery pack (1).

Battery charge condition

The needle of the battery gauge (2)

moves left to the beginning of the red

display when the battery capacity less-

ens.

After switching the SCOOTER on and

after the system test, the battery

gauge (2) shows the remaining bat-

tery capacity as follows:

The colours of the display have the

following meaning:

green

regular operating area

y e l -

low

Begin of the reserve sector

☞ Recharging necessary

red

Reserve sector of the bat-

tery pack exhausted

☞ recharge immediately

When the batteries are totally deplet-

ed the control diode (3) for operation-

al readiness blinks.

☞ Start the charging procedure im-

mediately, otherwise the batteries

might be damaged.

Battery charging procedure

The battery pack can be removed for

the charging procedure (1) (2).

1. Switch off the SCOOTER. The selec-

tion lever should be in the drive

mode position.

2. Swivel the cover of the battery

charging socket to the side (3) and

plug the battery charger into the

battery charging socket (1).

!

Attention:

Do not insert anything other than

the battery charging plug into the

battery charging socket.

– Danger of short circuit!

☞ Therefore also observe the operat-

ing manual of the battery charger.

3. Switch the battery charger on, resp.

insert the main plug of the battery

charger into the corresponding

socket. The charging procedure is

initiated.

☞ The charging procedure can only

run with intact overload safety (4)!

4. After a completed charging proce-

dure disconnect the battery charg-

er from the socket and remove the

battery charging plug from the

battery charging socket.

5. Afterwards recover the battery

charging socket (5).

Battery pack

The battery pack can be removed (1)

for the charging procedure or storage

of the SCOOTER .

Removing the battery pack

In order to remove the battery pack,

hold onto the grip (1) and lift it out

(2).

☞ This will loosen the velcro fastener

and disconnect the electric connec-

tor.

Inserting the battery pack

In order to replace the battery pack,

hold on to the grip and set it form ﬁt-

ting into the frame (3).

☞ In doing so the velcro fastener will

grab hold again and the electric

connection is re-established.
