SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Important: This appliance is not intended for use by persons including children with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a person responsible for their
safety.
• This product is intended for indoor use only.
• Ensure that the electricity supply in your home is rated at 220 -240 volts before operating
the appliance.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Place the appliance on a flat and stable surface and away from the edge of the counter.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch the hot surface.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to an authorized
service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
• Always unplug the appliance before attempting to move it.
• Always unplug from power outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• There are no user serviceable parts inside this appliance. Always contact a qualified
electrician.
• To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plug, or
base in water or other liquid.
• The use of accessories not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire,
electric shock or injury to persons.
• Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
• To disconnect remove plug from wall outlet. Always hold the plug. Never pull the cord.
• Some parts of appliance are hot when operated. Do not touch the outer casing with your
hand. Use handles or knobs only.
• Do not operate without water.
• Do not switch on the appliance if it is upside down or on its side.
• Do not operate on a metal surface.
• Do not leave the catering urn unattended when in use.
Warning – An urn containing boiling water is extremely dangerous and represents a
scalding hazard.
Cleaning
This product must be cleaned thoroughly after each use. Any mineral deposits must be removed. If
these deposits are not removed it can cause damage to the appliance.
1) Switch the urn off, disconnect from the power and allow it to cool down.
2) Clean the interior of the tank, lid and outer casing with water and a soft cloth. Do not use
abrasive cleaning pads on the exterior of the urn.
3) Cleaning agents such as lime scale remover can be used following the cleaning
manufacturers guidelines. It is recommended that this product is cleaned regularly with a
household descaler to maintain its performance.
4) To clean the tap, use a small brush to move up and down inside the tap. Also use the brush
to clean the tap connection inside the urn.
5) Wash the tap handle in warm soap water, rinse and replace.
6) Do not use baking soda when cleaning as this can cause damage to the appliance.
CATERING URN AT A GLANCE
Operating the Catering Urn
Before using the catering urn for the first time or after storage, fill it to the MAX mark and boil. Discard
the boiled water and repeat. Rinse with fresh, cold water and it is ready for use.
1) Place the catering urn on a stable, flat and heat resistant surface out of the reach of
children.
2) Plug into a suitable power outlet, ensuring that the cord is not over stretched or could be
accidentally caught.
3) Remove the lid by turning it in a clockwise direction and lifting, and fill the catering urn to
between the MIN and MAX mark. Do not overfill the catering urn.
4) Press the on / off switch to boil, the red light will illuminates to indicate that the catering urn
is operating.
5) Once the water has boiled (this will take around 35 minutes when the urn is filled to the
MAX mark) the orange light will illuminate to indicate that the water has reached 97°C, the
main element within the catering urn will switch off and the secondary element will come on
automatically to maintain the temperature of the water at 90°C. The hot water can now be
dispensed via the tap at the front of the catering urn.
6) The catering urn can be refilled with cold water at any time, but it is recommend that the
catering urn is switched off and the power supply unplugged before doing so.
7) Once you have finished using the catering urn switch off. The red light will go out to indicate
the appliance is off. Allow to cool. Remove any unused water and clean as necessary.
NOTE: Urn can be manually switched off at any time by interrupting the power supply.
