DKS 1601 Crank Kit is an accessory for DoorKing 1601 barrier gate operators that allows for manual operation of the arm in the event of a power outage or other emergency. The kit includes a pre-wired interlock assembly, double motor pulley, crank tool, and spring clips with lock nuts.

To use the DKS 1601 Crank Kit, simply unlock and remove the access door, remove the crank tool from inside the access door, flip the interlock assembly door up to disable power from the operator, and insert the crank tool into the motor pulley. You can then rotate the crank tool to manually move the operator arm up or down.

This kit is designed for the 1601 barrier gate operator WITHOUT the convenience open option. It provides an interlock power cut-off
switch when manually using crank tool to move the arm up or down. DO NOT install on convenience open models.
Replace the existing AC power switch wire connected
to main terminal #2 with interlock cut-off switch wires.
Replace existing
single motor pulley
with double motor
pulley. Align motor
pulley with gear
reducer pulley.
Mount interlock
assembly using
existing hardware.
Mount spring clips
with lock nuts on
existing threaded studs
inside access door.
SHUT OFF the AC input
power to the operator
from the circuit breaker.
Kit Includes: Pre-wired Interlock assembly,
Double motor pulley, Crank tool,
2 spring clips with lock nuts.

If your 1601 has a Break-Away Arm and you want to add the manual release interlock, both can be wired together as shown.
