Operation

• Inserttheadapterplugintoaproperlyearthedmainssocket(wallsocket).TheLED(8)willturnonto

indicatethattheadapterplugisconnectedtothemains.

• Thesocket(1)onthefrontoftheadaptermustbeunderneaththePIRsensor(6).

• Connectthedesiredappliancetothesocket(1)ontheadapterplug.

 DonotpointthePIRsensor(6)atradiators,lightsorobjectswithvaryingtemperatures(e.g.

electronicequipment),asthismaycausethesensortobetriggeredunintentionally.Inaddition,

donotpointthePIRsensor(6)atobjectsthatmaymoveduetotheowofair.Themotionsensor

doesnotdetecttemperaturechangesthroughglass.

• Movetheon/offswitch(7)tothe"ON"positiontoswitchonthesocket(1)ontheadapterplug.Theadapter

plugwillpowertheconnectedappliance.

• Toswitchoffthesocket(1)ontheadapterplug,movetheon/offswitch(7)tothe"OFF"position.Thepower

supplytotheconnectedappliancewillbeswitchedoff.

• Movetheon/offswitch(7)tothe"AUTO"positiontoswitchonthesocket(1)automaticallywhenmovement

isdetected.

• Todisablemotiondetection,movetheon/offswitch(7)tothe"ON"or"OFF"position.

• Afterconnectingtheadapterplugtoamainssocket,ittakesapproximately30secondsforthePIRsensor

toadjusttothebackgroundtemperatureandrecognisechangesintemperaturewithinthedetectionrange.

• Dependingontheactivationbrightness(3–2000lx),theadapterplugswitchesontheconnectedappliance

whenthePIRsensordetectsachangeintemperaturewithinthedetectionrange.

• If the PIR sensor does not detect any change in temperature during the preset switch-off duration

(10seconds to7minutes),theconnectedappliancewillbeautomatically switchedoff.Ifachange in

temperatureisdetectedduringthepresetswitch-offduration,thetimerwillbeautomaticallyreset.

- Example:Theswitch-offdurationissetto5minutes.Theappliancehasbeenswitchedonfor4minutes

and30secondswhenanotherchangeintemperatureisdetected.Theappliancewillstayswitchedon

foranadditional5minutesand30seconds.

Features of the PIR motion sensor

ThePIRsensorintheadapterplugreactstochangesintemperature,e.g.whenapersonoranimalenters

thedetectionrangewhosetemperatureisdifferentfromtheambienttemperature.

Toensureoptimaldetection,theadapterplugshouldbeplacedsothattheobjectdoesnotmovetowardsthe

PIRsensor,butratherfromlefttoright(orviceversa)acrossthedetectionrange.

Thedetectionrangeisdeterminedbyseveralfactors:

- Theadapterplug'sinstallationheight

- Thedifferencebetweenthetemperatureofthemovingobjectandtheambienttemperature

- Thesizeoftheobject

- Thedistanceoftheobjectfromtheadapterplug

- Thedirectionandspeedofthemovement

- Ambienttemperature

ThisproductisdesignedtoswitchonaconnectedappliancewithaPIRmotionsensor.

The adapter plug must be connected to an earthed mains socket that delivers a mains voltage of

220–240V/AC,50/60Hz.Thesocketontheplugadapterisdesignedtopoweranappliancewithapower

ratingofupto1200W.

Thisproductisintendedforindooruseonly.Donotuseitoutdoors.Contactwithmoisture(e.g.inbathrooms)

mustbeavoidedunderallcircumstances.

Forsafetyandapprovalpurposes,youmustnotrebuildand/ormodifythisproduct.Usingtheproductfor

purposesotherthanthosedescribedabovemaydamagetheproduct.Inaddition,improperusecancause

• Neverusetheproductimmediatelyafterithasbeenbroughtfromacoldroomintoawarm

one.Thecondensationgeneratedmaydestroytheproduct.Allowtheproducttoreachroom

isinstalled.

 Whenconnectingalightwithapowerratingofmorethan60W,thedistancebetweenthelight

andthePIRsensor(6)mustbeatleast60cm.Useanextensioncabletoconnectthelight.

Conguring the settings for the PIR sensor

Congure the sensitivity of the sensor. The registering of a

movement by the sensor depends on the distance from the

movingobject.ThePIRdetectionangleis120°(horizontal)and

100° (vertical).Congurethe reactiondistance byturningthe

SENScontroltowards+(plus)or-(minus).

- TurntheSENScontrol(3)clockwise(towards"+")toincreasethereactiondistance.

- TurntheSENScontrolanticlockwise(towards"-")todecreasethereactiondistance.

- Conguretheswitch-onduration.Theconnectedappliancewillswitchonforthepresetdurationwhen

amovingobjectisdetected.Youcanchooseadurationbetween10secondsand7minutes.Congure

theswitch-ondurationbymovingtheTIMEcontrol(4)towards+(plus)or-(minus).

- TurntheTIMEcontrolclockwisetoincreasetheswitch-onduration(towards"+").

- TurntheTIMEcontrolanticlockwisetodecreasetheswitch-onduration(towards"-").

• Conguretheactivationbrightness(ambientbrightness).Whentheambientbrightnessreachesthepreset

level,thePIRsensorwillbeactivated,andthesocketontheadapterplugwillswitchonwhenthesensor

detectsasourceofheat.

- ConguretheactivationbrightnessbyturningtheLUXcontrol(5)towards (daylight)or (darkness).

- Turnthe LUX control clockwise (in the direction of the sun symbol ) to increase the activation

brightness.

- TurntheLUX controlanticlockwise(inthedirectionofthemoonsymbol )todecreasetheactivation

brightness.

Testing the function of the PIR motion sensor

TestthePIRmotionsensorsettingsthatyoujustcongured.

- Totesttheswitch-onduration,connectalighttotheadapterplug,activatethePIRsensor(6),andthen

measurethetimeuntilthelightswitchesoff.

- Totestthedetectionrange,connectalighttotheadapterplug,settheswitch-offdurationtotheminimum

setting,andthenmovetoandfroaroundthePIRsensor(6)atdifferentdistances.

- Totesttheactivationbrightness,connectalighttotheadapterplugandmovearoundthedetection

areainthedark.

Troubleshooting

• Theconnectedappliancedoesn'tswitchon.

- Checkthevoltageandcablingoftheappliance(ifacableispresent).

- Checktheappliance.

- Checktheactivationbrightness.

• Motiondetectionispoor.

- Checkiftheambienttemperatureistoohigh.

- Ensurethattherearenoobstructionsthatmaypreventthesensorfromdetectingsourcesofheat.

- Checkthereactiondistance.

- Checkthattherearenoinductionsourceswithinrangeofthesensor.

- Checktheinstallationheight.

• Theadapterdoesnotswitchofftheapplianceautomatically.

- Isthereapermanentsourceofheatwithinrangeofthesensor?Ifso,removethesourceofheatand

tryagain.

- Checkwhethertheswitch-offdurationissettothemaximumsetting.

- Checkthatthemainsvoltageiscorrect.

Care and cleaning

• Beforecleaningtheadapterplug,disconnectitfromthemainssocket,andthendisconnecttheappliance

fromtheadapterplug.

• Neveruseaggressivedetergents,rubbingalcoholorotherchemicalsolutions,asthesemaydamagethe

housingorcausetheproducttomalfunction.

• Useadry,lint-freeclothtocleantheproduct.
