Email on Alarm Enable this to send an email on receipt of an alarm. Ensure that the email settings have been
congured in Network->Email settings.
Log event The SD DVR can record all Events, both Alarms and Activity. Enable this to have the event
written to the log.
Switch to camera The SD DVR can display the primary camera associated with this alarm on the operator
monitor.
Sounder The unit has a buzzer which can sound for ve seconds when an alarm or activity are
detected.
Global (Red) This button will open the Global Alarms settings (see Global Alarms below).
Remote Reporting (Yellow) This button will open the Remote Reporting settings (see Remote Alarm Reporting below).
Cancel (Purple) Settings are automatically saved when the page is closed. Use this button to cancel any
changes before navigating away from the page.
Save (Grey) To ‘manually’ save changes whilst in a menu page, select the Save button.
2) Press the Right Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the ‘Alarm’ drop down
box to list the available alarm proles. Select the alarm prole to be congured.
3) Press the Right Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the ‘Source’ drop down
box. If the relevant alarm contact will normally be Open, select N/O, if it will normally be closed, select
N/C.
4) Press the Down, then Left Directional buttons followed by OK on the remote control, or click on the
‘Pulse’ text box. Enter (in seconds) the pulse extension used to prevent double triggers. The pulse
extension will activated when the relevant alarm is triggered. If the contact triggers again within the
assigned pulse extension period, the alarm will not restart.
5) Press the Right Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the ‘EOL contact’
check box. When checked, the SD will detect any changes in the input electronic resistance. Any
change will be detected as a Tamper Alarm (short circuit) and the SD will switch to alarm mode. Please
refer to the SD Installation & Operation Guide (MI-I-SD-E1-2) for further guidance regarding the EOL
(End Of Line) circuitry feature.
6) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the ‘Primary camera’
drop down box. As the SD can activate two cameras on alarm, select via the drop down box the primary
camera. This camera will take the still image used for emailing alarm notications and event database
purposes. It will also be the camera which is rst displayed on the Operator’s monitor.
7) Press the Right Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the ‘Preset’ text box. If
the primary camera utilises telemetry functionality, enter a preset position which the camera will move to
on alarm.
8) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the ‘Secondary
camera’ drop down box. If the alarm is intended to trigger two cameras on alarm, enter the number of
the second camera here.
9) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Enable’ drop down
menu.Select when the alarm is to be ON. Choose either OFF, 24 hours, (for continuous activation) or
select from the Schedule day, night weekend options (refer to previous section ...set up a schedule for
guidance on establishing a schedule),
10) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control, or click on the Entry route check
box. When checked, specied alarms are inactivated along a predetermined route, (enabling a member
of staff to enter and switch the system to Day mode without triggering an alarm). The time allowed for
this entry can be established via Alarms>Global Alarms.
11) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Exit route’
check box. When checked, specied alarms are inactivated along a predetermined route, (enabling a
member of staff to exit without triggering an alarm. The time allowed for this exit can be established via
Alarms>Global Alarms.
12) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Activity Relay
mode’ drop down menu. Select from Relay 1 to 4 or OFF. Upon an alarm being triggered, the selected
relay will trigger until the alarm ends.
13) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Remote alarm
reporting’ check box. When checked, a report can be sent to an RVRC (Remote Video Response
Centre).
14) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Email on activity’
check box. When checked, an email can be sent upon receipt of an alarm. Specify the email recipient
via Network>Advanced>Email.
15) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Log Event’
check box. When checked, an event will be logged and stored in the Event List. The Event List can be
accessed via the Event button.
16) Press the Down Directional button and then OK on the remote control or click on the ‘Switch to camera’
check box. When checked, the SD will display the primary camera associated with that alarm on the
operator monitor.
