Installation:
Thisunitisconstructedforafreestandingverticalinstallation.Installtheunitonalevelsurfacewith
thesparksoutputinavertical,upwardsdirection.
ThepowderhopperoftheunitneedstobelledwithSparkStreamgranulesbeforeswitchingon.
Alwaysdisconnectfromthemainssupplybeforellingthepowderhopper.
OnlyuseEquinoxSparkStreamGranules(Ordercode:EQLED351A).
Installtheunitinawell-ventilatedarea.Inordertocreatethebesteffect,thereshouldbeaminimum
distancearoundtheunit/betweentheunitandtheaudienceofatleast3m.
Onlyinstallthesparkmachineonreresistantandscratchresistantsurfaces.Certainsurfacessuchas
carpets,softfurnishingsordelicatesurfacesmaynotbesuitable.Ifthereisanyuncertaintyaboutthe
suitabilityofthesurfacethismachineshouldnotbeused.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Werecommendafrequentcleaningoftheunit.Pleaseuseasoftlint-freeandmoistenedcloth.
Neverusealcoholorsolvents!DuringoperationtheSparkStreamunitdoesproduceasmallamountof
dustfromthegranulesthatgeneratethesparks.Thisdustcaneasilybesweptorblownawayanddoes
notcauseanyharmtohardsurfacesorhumanskin.
Itisrecommendedthatthesparksoutletiscleanedaftereachusetopreventbuild-upofgranules.
Todothismakesurethextureispoweredoff,disconnectedfromthemainssupplyandlefttocoolfora
minimumofanhour.Nowremoveanygranulesfromthehopper.Oncethehopperisemptyuseanylon
pipecleaningbrushtocleantheinsideoftheoutletpipe.Ifanygranuledepositsremaininthebottomof
thepipeturntheunitupsidedowntoallowthemtofallout.
Therearenoserviceablepartsinsidethisunitexceptforthefuse.
Maintenanceandserviceoperationsareonlytobecarriedoutbyauthorizeddealers.

Replacing the fuse:
Onlyreplacethefusewithafuseofsametypeandrating.
Beforereplacingthefuse,disconnectfromthemains,seethefollowingforprocedure:
Step 1: Open the fuse holder on the rear panel with a suitable screwdriver.
Step 2: Remove the old fuse from the fuse holder.
Step 3: Install the new fuse in the fuse holder.
Step 4: Replace the fuse holder in the housing.
Shouldyouneedanyspareparts,onlyusegenuineparts.
Shouldyouhaveanyfurtherquestions,pleasecontactyourdealer.
Air Inlet:
Theunithas1mainairventontheundersideoftheunitthatisusedtokeepthemachinecoolduring
operation.Donotcovertheunitwithanythingthatmayrestrictthis.Tomaintainaclearairowintothe
unit,ensurethefeetaren’tremovedandtheunitispositionedonaatsurface.Clearanyresidualdust
thatmayhavebuiltupneartheinletregularly.
Preheating:
Theunithasapreheatfunctiononstartup.Theunittakesapproximately8minutestoreachthe
requiredtemperaturetooperate.
Granules:
Theunitandthegranulesmustbekeptdryatalltimestoensuresafeandsuccessfuluse.Anyunused
granulesshouldbestoredinasealedbagwheretheycannotbeexposedtoanymoisture.Anygranules
thatdocomeintocontactwithwatershouldbedisposedofimmediatelyandmustnotbeused.
Flammable materials:
Whilsttheunitandtheeffectareextremelysafe,pleasedonotplaceanyammablematerialswithin
3mdistanceoftheunit.Pleasealsoensurethattheunitsarenotcoveredwithanythingthatmayimpact
theowofsparksduringoperation.
Transport:
Duringtransportallunitsshouldbestoredinaightcaseorothersuitablecontainerwithsufcient
paddingtoensurenodamageoccursduringtransit.

Aftertheunithasbeenpoweredupthesparkmachinewilltake
8minutestoheatuptooperatingtemperature.Whilstheatingthe
LEDdisplaywillchase4reddots,onceheatedthe4reddotson
thedisplaywillstopchasingandstayilluminated.
TosettheDMXaddresspressthe“FUNCTION”buttonuntil
A001isdisplayed.Nowusethe“UP”and“DOWN”buttons
toselectbetweenA001~A512.

controllerviathe5-pinDMXinputontherearoftheunit.

How safe is the machine?
TheSparkStreamhasbeenbuilttoeliminatethererisksthatcomewithnormalpyrotechnics.
Nolargesafetyorexclusionzonesarerequiredastheheatedgranulescoolinstantlywhentheycome
incontactwiththeairandaresafetotouch.Allofthematerialsarecompletelynon-hazardous.
How does it work?
Theeffectissimplycreatedbyheatingthetitaniumalloygranuleswhicharethenblownfromthespark
outletopeningonthetopoftheunittocreateafountainofsparks.Theheightandintensityofthe
sparkscanbeadjustedviathewirelessremoteoraDMXcontrollerusinga5-pinDMXcable.Eachunit
requiresjust1DMXchannelforoperationsoitcaneasilybecombinedwithanyotherlightingorsound
effectswhicharebeingcontrolledfromyourDMXdesk.
Where can I use the Spark Stream?
Theeffecthasbeendesignedforindooruseasitisextremelysafeanddoesnotpresentarerisk,
meaningthatitcanbesafelyusedinpracticallyanyvenue.Theunitcanbeusedoutdoors,howeverit
mustbekeptcompletelydry.Ifanymoistureorraingetsintotheunitthepowderwillbegintoclogand
theinternalmechanismsmaybecomedamaged.
Is there any fallout/residue?
DuringoperationtheSparkStreamunitdoesproduceasmallamountofdustfromthegranulesthat
generatethesparks.Thisdustcaneasilybesweptorblownaway.Certainsurfacessuchascarpets,
softfurnishingsordelicatesurfacesmaynotbesuitable.Ifthereisanyuncertaintyaboutthesuitability
ofthesurfacethismachineshouldnotbeused.
How quick is setup and installation?
MultipleunitscanbesetupextremelyquicklyandlinkedviaDMXandupto4viapower
input/outputs.Oncethepowderhasbeenpouredintothemachineandtheunitispoweredon,
aheatingsequenceneedstobeenabledtobringtheelementinsidetheunituptotherequired
temperature,thistakes8minutes.Oncetheelementhasreachedtherequiredtemperaturethe
unitsarereadyforuse.
