Theintendeduseristhepersonsittinginthewheelchairor

anassistant.Theusermustphysicallyandmentallybeable

tousethewheelchairsafely(e.g.topropel,steer,brake).

Theproductisintendedforinstitutionaluseorprivatehouse

holduse.Thewheelchairmaybeusedindoorsandoutdoors

onlevelgroundandaccessibleterrain.

Theweightofthewheelchairoccupantmustnotexceed

themaximumuserweightasstatedintheTechnicalData

2.Theassistantshouldtiltthewheelchairusingbothpush

handlessothatthecastorsliftofftheground,thenpull

therearwheelsoverthekerbuntilthecastorscanbe

placedbackontheground.

5.6Negotiatingrampsandslopes

WARNING!

Riskduetowheelchairbeingoutofcontrol

Whennegotiatingslopesorgradientsyour

wheelchaircouldtipbackwards,forwardsor

sideways.

–Alwayshaveanassistantbehindthewheelchair

whenapproachinglongslopes.

–Avoidlateralslopes.

–Avoidslopesofmorethan7°.

–Avoidjerkingwhenchangingdirectionona

slope.

CAUTION!

Yourwheelchaircouldrunawayevenonslightly

slopinggroundifyoudonotcontrolitusingthe

handrims.

–Usetheparkingbrakesifyourwheelchairis

stationaryonslopingground.

Goingupslopes

Togoupaslope,youmustcreatesomemomentum,keepup

themomentumandcontrolthedirectionatthesametime.

wheelchairwithquick,powerfulstrokesonboth

handrims.

Goingdownslopes

Whengoingdownslopes,itisimportanttocontrolyour

directionandparticularlyyourspeed.

1.Leanbackandcarefullyallowthehandrimstorun

throughyourhands.Youshouldbeabletostopthe

wheelchairatanytimebygrippingthehandrims.

CAUTION!

Ifyoubrakeforalongtime,alotoffrictional

heatisproducedatthehandrims.
