This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with 22.
reduced sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the 23.
appliance.
Do not use the appliance with a damaged mains cable, mains plug or frying 24.
basket. Seek expert advice.
If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service 25.
agent, or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not use extension cables with kitchen equipment as they increase the risk of 26.
accidents.
If you are using a solid fat, melt this gently in a separate pan and pour it into the 27.
oil tank before switching on. Do not melt solid fat in the appliance by placing it in
the basket or you may damage the appliance.
Renew the cooking oil regularly. Used oil may contain contaminants, lower 28.
smoking temperatures and cause excessive foaming and spattering.
Always dry food before frying as moist foods cause excessive foaming and 29.
spattering. Even small amounts of water may cause the oil to spatter.
Never overload the frying basket. If too much food is fried at the same time, the 30.
food will not get crisp and may cause excessive foaming and spattering.
After completion of frying, allow the food to drain before removing it from the 31.
basket.
This appliance is for household use. Do not use for any purpose not expressly 32.
specied in this manual.
The appliance must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains 33.
socket.
Fryer Fires
The two main causes of fryer res are:
the oil overheats and catches re spontaneously,1.
the oil spills over because either it has been lled past the MAX mark or the food 2.
inside is wet causing the oil to bubble up and overow.
If Your Fryer Catches Fire:
Raise the alarm to make sure that everyone in the household is aware of the re. Call
the Fire Brigade. Turn o the fryer, if it is safe to do so!
Do not reach over the fryer to get at the controls.
Do not attempt to move the fryer.
Never put water anywhere near the re! - the consequences could be disastrous.
This type of re is extinguished by placing a cover over the fryer. This could be the lid,
a re blanket or a damp (not wet) tea towel. CONSIDER YOUR OWN SAFETY FIRST!

Cooking With Your Fryer
Fill the oil tank with oil until the level is between the MIN and MAX level marks 1.
shown on the inside of the bowl. Check the level of oil before using the fryer on
each separate occasion.
Corn oil, sunower oil, ground nut oil and vegetable oil are all suitable for use •
with the fryer. If you wish you may use solid vegetable fat but this is much
more dicult to handle. Solid fat should be melted in a separate pan before
transferring it to the tank.
Do not use margarine, butter or olive oil. Do not mix different oils and fats.
During frying you may hear slight clicking noises and you may see the
Ready indicator going on and off several times. This indicates that the
temperature is being maintained and is quite normal. Hot steam may also
escape through the sides of the lid. This is also a normal occurrence.
Lightly smear the viewing window with a little oil. This will prevent it from •
getting fogged by condensation and allow you to view the food while it cooks.
Plug the fryer into the mains socket. The POWER indicator will illuminate.2.
Adjust the temperature control to desired setting.3.
Wait until the READY indicator turns green (indicating the fryer has reached the 4.
set temperature) before lowering the food into the oil.
Place the food to be cooked (which should be as dry as possible) in the basket. 5.
Always have the basket in the raised position when lling it with food. Do not
overll the basket.
CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY6. , lower the basket with food using the handle into the
oil tank (be careful not to touch any metal parts of the fryer as they may be hot).
Cook the food according to the time suggested in the frying guide on page 11 7.
and close the lid. Check the progress of the food during cooking by raising the
basket using the handle and view the food though the viewing window.

Before Use
Shake the basket slightly to remove excess oil and transfer the food carefully to a 2.
heatproof utensil.
Place the basket back into the fryer and close the lid.3.
Switch o the mains socket and 4. UNPLUG THE FRYER. Now leave the fryer to cool
fully (approx. 2 hours) before cleaning.
Hints On Using Your Fryer
Use a recommended oil - do not mix oils or fats.•
Take into account the type of food when you set the frying temperature. Generally, •
precooked foods need a higher cooking temperature than raw foods.
If you need to add oil, do so between batches. Allow a short time for the oil to heat •
up to the right temperature.
Ensure there is enough room to open the appliance lid and operate the frying •
basket.
Cook food thoroughly. Remember that food may turn golden brown before it has •
cooked through.
Use the fryer in well ventilated conditions. All food contains moisture which turns to •
steam during frying. Most of this steam escapes through the lter in the lid.
Do not lean over the fryer when cooking food or when opening the lid.•
Check the progress of the food during cooking by raising the basket using the •
handle and view the food through the viewing window.
When The Food Is Cooked
Open the lid using an oven mitts. Raise the basket and wait a few seconds to let 1.
the steam subside.
Allow time for your fryer to heat up to the proper temperature
again if you are frying more than one load.

Resetting The Safety Thermostat
Reset the safety thermostat if excessive temperatures are reached, (normally due to
low levels of oil used.)
Unplug the fryer from the mains socket and allow time for the fryer to cool down.1.
Check the oil level, if it is below the minimum level, oil should be added before 2.
resetting the fryer and resuming the cooking cycles.
To reset the safety thermostat, use a small screwdriver to press in the reset button 3.
at the back of the fryer. If this continues to happen, stop using the unit and return
to the store where the product was purchased.

Cleaning The Fryer
Clean your fryer thoroughly after every use once your fryer has been cooled down.
Filter
Remove the lter before cleaning the lid. Lift and
remove the grease trap cover. Remove the two
lters and check their condition. The lters can
be used about fty times before replacement.
This depends on the nature of the food and the
period of cooking.
If you intend to re-use the oil, then make sure your lter it well.
If you are using solid fat
Remove the basket before the fat has cooled. Remove as much of the cooled fat as
possible with a plastic spatula before washing the tank. Ensure the washing water
is hot enough to remove all traces of fat from the tank. When washing the oil tank
ensure you do not damage the interior surface.
Wipe the body of the fryer with a damp cloth and dry well. Never immerse the body in
any liquid.
When All The Components Are Cleaned And Dried
Re-assemble the fryer. Replace the lters in the correct order with the white one
underneath and the charcoal lter on top.
Store the fryer safely in a cool dry place out of the reach of children and pets.
Cleaning The Basket
The basket and handle should be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried.
Cleaning The Fryer Lid
The lid and the grease trap cover should also be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed
and dried.
Cleaning The Oil Tank
Ensure the fryer has completely cooled down, the lid has been removed and the
fryer is unplugged. Carefully lift and tilt the fryer to the left and pour the oil o into
a suitable receptacle from the left rear corner. (If you are left-handed use the right

Filtering And Changing The Oil
Make sure that the fryer is cooled down
and unplugged. On average, oil can be
used for 8 to 12 separate times before it
will need to be changed. If you are frying
sh or battered foods then you will need to
change the oil more often. Filter the oil to
get rid of any food that has fallen through
the basket and into the fat.
Storing The Fryer
The fryer can be stored in its box but do not store anything else on top of the box.

that the mains cable is in good working
order.
You have not turned the temperature
control knob.
Ensure the temperature have been set

basket.
Food may be too thick or have too much
ice on it.
Try scraping o the ice and cut up any
big pieces of food.
Oil temperature may not be set high
enough.
Use the temperature adjust knob to
increase the temperature.
The food is not fully cooked. Fry the food for a longer time. Food may
