What Is ArcEquine?
ArcEquine is a drug free, non-invasive sub-sensory treatment device, which uses microcurrent
technology. Microcurrent technology works systemically at cellular level. It does not matter where
on the body the current is introduced, it will always ‘goto wherever the problem (injury/pain) is.
What Can ArcEquine Do For Your Horse?
Facilitates the rapid repair of tissues, including tendons, ligaments, bone fractures and wounds,
often with little or no scar tissue
Pre-existing scar tissue, both internal and external, no matter how chronic, is often replaced
by original tissue
Promotes effective dispersal and elimination of swelling, bruising, inflammation, pain and
lactic acid
Use before, on the way to, during, and on the way home from competition days to help the
horse remain calm, disperse lactic acid, and deal effectively with micro-tears in the tissues
ArcEquine is equally effective for prevention and maintenance as it is for repair and restoration

How Does ArcEquine Work?
When there is tissue damage and inflammation, the electrical signals between the affected cells
are often impaired, which affects normal cellular activity. Microcurrent technology utilises minute
electrical currents, measured in millionths of an amp (microamps) that dramatically increase ATP
(energy) production in the cells. This significantly speeds up the rate of healing and tissue repair,
often with little or no scar tissue.

High-High-Low = Audible Beep Alert Disabled
How To Know If There Is Sufficient Charge
When the Delivery Unit is turned ON, the Treatment
Option indication LEDs (1-4) will momentarily flash
Green and Red to show that they are functioning
correctly. They will then change to battery strength
indication mode.

Charging Status
Insert the lead of the Plug charger into the base of the Delivery Unit, insert the charger into the
wall socket, and switch ON.
When the wall socket is switched ON you will hear two short “beeps”, and the charging process
will begin
The battery charge status depends on the colour of the left hand button and the LEDs
see illustration below:
charging first quarter (Left button flashing red)
charging second quarter (Left button flashing red)
■■ charging third quarter (Left button flashing red)
■■■ charging fourth quarter (Left button flashing red)
■■■■ charging complete. Remain flashing for 5 minutes (Left Button flashing Green)
Complete. All lights out, just the Left button flashing Green (until power
disconnected, then goes to sleep)
When the Delivery Unit is unplugged you will hear a single “beep”.
** Important **
Please charge fully upon receipt. Typically, a full charge will take between 4-5 hours, but may
be longer or shorter depending on various conditions.
Position The Leg Strap
And Delivery Unit:
Attach the leg strap with the
Delivery Unit positioned to the
outside of the cannon bone
Do not strap to an injured leg
Do not overtighten
Rotate the leg strap between
sound legs each day
8
Selecting The Treatment Option
First choose the Treatment Option you wish
to deliver
(see guide on Page 8).
If you are not treating a specific injury/
condition but using the ArcEquine as part of
a prevention/maintenance regime, we
recommend that you first go through the
‘Initial 6 week Protocol’.
Programming The Delivery Unit
At the top of the Delivery Unit there are four
Treatment Option indicator LEDs. To select
your Treatment Option, press and release the
left-hand button and cycle through the LEDs
until the chosen Treatment Option is
illuminated.
As the Treatment Option is selected you will
hear a sequence of short, sharp beeps. The
number of beeps indicates the Treatment
Option number selected.
For example: 3 beeps = Treatment Option 3.
When the Delivery unit is switched ON, the
red/amber LED will indicate the last
Treatment Option delivered.
Activating The Treatment Option
Once the desired Treatment Option has been
selected, press and release the right-hand
button once. There will be an audible “beep”
and the Delivery Unit will begin delivery of a
3hour Treatment Option.
Once activated, the left-hand button will turn
off, and the right-hand button and Treatment
Option indicator LED will turn either:
Green: To indicate complete connectivity
Red: To indicate no connectivity at one or
more of the carbon rubber ArcPads, or the
connector from the strap has become
detached from the bottom of the Delivery
Unit.
After 30 seconds the Delivery Unit will go
into energy saving mode. The right-hand
button will turn off and the Treatment Option
indicator LED will begin to flash (Green) and
continue to do so throughout the delivery
period.

Please note, no two horses respond at the same rate, therefore timings shown serve only as a
guide and after completion of selected Treatment Option, it may be necessary to reassess and
repeat. This will not cause any harm, as you cannot overuse the ArcEquine.
Guide to Treatment Options
Each Treatment Option lasts 3 hours and should be repeated daily throughout the course of the
Treatment Protocol. The Delivery Unit will turn itself OFF after 3 hours.

Recommended Rehabilitation Regime
It has been found that combining the use of the ArcEquine with a progressive and dynamic
rehabilitation programme enhances the effectiveness of Microcurrent Technology, especially where
there is tissue damage. This not only helps to speed regenerative repair, but also ensures a far
better outcome.
The following is a template, with timings shown serving only as a guide. It may be necessary to
reassess and repeat at each stage.
During Rehabilitation:
Straight lines only
On a good, firm surface
No circles, poles, lunging etc
No pinching or squeezing of any tendon, ligament etc
No testing (flexion etc)
Recommended Rehabilitation Regime
Whilst on Treatment Option 1:
for 1 week or until the horse is sound at walk, whichever is the longer:
No work
Box rest (unless already turned out)
Plenty of TLC
Whilst on Treatment Options 2 and 3:
Day Minutes Exercise
1 -3 15 Walk in hand
4 - 6 20
7 - 9 25
10 - 17 30
18 - 20 15 Walk under saddle

Troubleshooting
If the Treatment Option indicator LED has changed from green to red during the treatment and:
1) The right-hand button has lit up red:
This indicates a loss of connectivity. Either the lead has become disconnected from the bottom of
the Delivery Unit or one, or both, of the carbon rubber ArcPads are not making a good enough
connection to the skin to complete the circuit. Consider applying more gel.
2) The left-hand button has lit up red:
This indicates that there is insufficient power in the battery to complete delivery of the selected
Treatment Option. Please charge the unit until fully charged.

Important Information:
Use of ArcEquine is in addition to, and in no way a substitute for your existing veterinary policy
and practice
Protect your ArcEquine Delivery Unit and leg strap from wet and damp conditions. It is not
waterproof.
The use of Microcurrent Technology can cause some dehydration. Please ensure your horse
always has access to clean fresh water when using the ArcEquine Unit
A PDF of this manual along with further information is available on our website:
www.arcequine.com
Please Note:
Some horses with very thin/fair skin may, after prolonged use, develop a sensitivity reaction,
manifesting in a ‘rub’ type condition and even some loss of hair.
In order to prevent this, we make the following recommendations:
Do not over tighten the elasticated Velcro straps. The carbon rubber ArcPads, plus AE gel
are extremely sensitive so no pressure is required to maintain a good contact
Do not use for more than 3 hours in any single session
Do not cover any injury with the leg strap/bandage
Rotate the leg strap between sound legs each day
Warranty
ArcEquine offers a 2-year warranty from the date of your purchase of the ArcEquine Delivery
Unit.
Please note, failure to use genuine ArcEquine consumables, or the transfer of ownership to
another will invalidate any warranties.
