Yamaha’s exclusive SCENE mode allows users to maximize their audio
experience at the touch of a button via a set of four customizable SCENE buttons on the
front panel of the receiver. These SCENE modes automatically turn on the system and
activate the functions and technologies to best deliver TV, DVD, CD, iPod, Bluetooth or
Satellite Radio content.
The YHT-790 and YHT-690 offer both Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite
Radio compatibility (including XM HD Surround powered by Neural Surround),
allowing users to enjoy the hundreds of stations with CD quality sound via optional
antennas and paid subscriptions to these services. Neural Surround™ technology
enhances the experience of XM HD Surround, delivering a detailed sound stage with
superior 5.1 channel separation.
Each model in the line allows users to wirelessly listen to music stored on A2DP
Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones or computers via their home entertainment systems with
the optional Yamaha Bluetooth wireless audio receiver (YBA-10). All systems in the line
are also iPod-compatible via the optional Yamaha iPod docking station. Once docked, the
iPod can be operated (song selection, play, etc.) via the AV receiver’s remote control. In
addition, docked iPods are automatically charged so that they are ready to be taken on the
go at all times.
Yamaha’s proprietary Compressed Music Enhancer, which is featured in all four
systems, improves the quality of audio files compressed from CDs or downloaded from the
Internet as they are played back from any compatible source. The improvement in audio is
especially apparent when listening to this music in stereo.
The YHT-690 features a DVD player that enables HDMI 1080i/720p upscaling and
High-Definition JPEG picture playback at their native resolution via HDMI 1080i or 720p
video signals.
The YHT-790 and YHT-690 feature the company’s proprietary Yamaha
Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO) technology and Optimizer Microphone
that simplify the home theater set-up process by automatically assessing and adjusting to
room acoustics via a parametric equalizer.
