NGW Electrical Overview:
The NGW needs a 220V 20A, single phase with neutral, dedicated circuit.
(Dedicated circuit means that the wires coming from the circuit breaker box only go to the wrapper)
The NGW requires a neutral connection. Neutral must be hooked to earth ground in the install site circuit breaker box
(or however the local electrical codes call out)
If using ceiling drops, ensure they are long enough to meet line cord length from NGW Wrapper.
If replacing an existing competitor wrapper:
Make sure the circuit is 1 phase 220V with a neutral and earth ground
Ensure the dedicated circuit is 20A with at least 12AWG line
The NGW does not ship with a power cord. The power cord is a 4 conductor 12 AWG and is water resistant.
DO NOT hook the NGW’s neutral to earth ground. THIS IS A SAFTEY REQUIREMENT.
Earth ground must not conduct any current during normal operation.
Electrical Connections in Field Wiring Box:
RED - L1
BLACK - L2
WHITE – Neutral
GREEN – Earth Ground
Male and Female Plugs:
CHECK WITH LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.
Using the plugs may not be required, but are a good idea
NGW Power Cord Example Parts:
CHECK WITH LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.
Plug – Hubbell HBL26W74, Watertight, L14-20P
Cable – General Cable\Carol 02726.85.01, Water resistant
Strain Relief – Thomas & Betts 4972NM, Liquid tight
Nut – Heyco 8465
Power cord mounts in the hole on the right side of the field wiring box
Example of Store Side Outlet:
CHECK WITH LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.
Hubbell HBL67W74 Wall Mount, Watertight, L14-20R
Hubbell HBL27W74 Free Hanging, Watertight, L14-20R This can vary by location/local code, but we typically
use a NEMA L14-20R watertight connector.

A dedicated circuit, rated 120/208-240 volts, 50/60 Hz, 1 Phase
(4-wire 2 hot lines, neutral & ground) with 20 amp circuit
protection is required. The wrapper runs on 220 VAC, 1 phase.
The Main Power Switch is located behind the access door located
on right-hand side of the lower front panel of the wrapper.
Power runs to the Printer and Console through 220 VAC cables
connected in the back of the printer. The Printer must be switched
on using the On/Off switch located on the back of the printer. The
Printer, Console, and Label Applier do not have power until the
On/Off switch is in the ON position.
