Introduction
Thank you for purchasing our product EDA-013.
EDA-013 is a USB-FPGA board with USB interface equipped with Intel FPGA
Cyclone 10 LP series and FTDI's USB controller FT601.
By using the original configuration tool “BBC[EDA-013], no download cable or
Intel developing environment is needed to configure FPGA and configuration
device on the board.
Unused Pins [IMPORTANT]
For supporting device migration, some I/O pins of this board are configured to
power supply pins. These pins are needed to be set as a dummy input depending
on the device grades, and please do not use them.
To set all unused pins as input pins, please refer to the steps below:
1. Open Assignmentsand click Device
2. Click Device and Pin Options…” button
3. Open Unused Pinscategory
4. Set Reserve all unused pinsas As input tri-stated

2.7. USB Controller (FT601)
The FT601 is mounted on this board as a USB controller IC. FT601 is connected to
FPGA with 32 bit bus.
Before FPGA is configured, FT232H is recognized by PC with priority. After
configuration, it is up to user. Please refer to the following table about control
signals.
Net Label FPGA Pin Function

3. FPGA Configuration
3.1. Using Original Tool
By using the original configuration tool “BBC[EDA-013]”, following function is
available without download cable.
FPGA configuration
Write and Erase configuration device
BBC[EDA-013] is available for free from a support page. Please set configuration
mode to PS when using this tool.
The tool supports rbf file. The file can be generated by the setting in “Device
and Pin Options Programming Files”.
9
EDA-013 v1.0
To write the data into the configuration device, please set up the following items in
“Device and Pin OptionsConfiguration”.
Configuration scheme: Active Serial
Configuration device: MT25QL128
3.2. Using JTAG Download cable
Download cable is needed to use Intel tool (SignalTap II etc.). Pin assignment is as
follows.
CN2
3.3. Using Configuration Device
Configuration data written in the configuration device will be configured to the
FPGA automatically when power is applied. To use this function, set configuration
mode to Active Serialmode.
Do not download inaccurate configuration data. It would damage the FPGA and
peripheral circuit.
