MAIN FEATURES
Manual pan, tilt and zoom operations and focus and iris
settings can be carried out.
Automatic focus, automatic iris, automatic white balance
and automatic backlight compensation functions operate so
that clear images are transmitted at all times.
If the camera is tilted so that it is facing directly downward,
it automatically reverse through 180 degrees (automatic
reverse function) so that continuous tilting between 0 and
180 degrees is possible.
Zoom and focus settings for up to 80 different monitoring
positions can be stored as preset positions.
Up to 36 of the stored preset positions can be automatically
viewed in succession (sequence). You can also set the
order for switching between the different monitoring
positions and the time period for each position to be
monitored. Up to four different sequence modes can be set.
Up to 1000 commands can be stored for image traces
(tours) used for manual pan, tilt and zoom operations, and
the stored image traces can be reproduced automatically.
Up to four different tour modes can be set.
You can set a start point and end point for image
monitoring, so that automatic panning can be carried out
between these two points. The automatic panning speed
can also be set. Up to four different automatic panning
modes can be set.
You can set the ranges for image monitoring areas (zones)
and titles can be displayed while monitoring is in progress.
Up to eight different zones can be set.
Places where monitoring may intrude on privacy can be
shielded by grey patterns (masks). Up to four different
areas can be masked.
The direction of the camera lens and the zoom ratio can be
displayed on the monitor screen. If you set the direction of
the camera lens using menu operations, the direction of the
camera lens can be displayed on the monitor screen.
Approvals: IP66 (Outdoor type only)
This unit has been certified to IP66 standards when
properly installed.
Use only an IP66 certified enclosure or an electrical box.
Ensure all openings in enclosure are sealed as per
manufacturer's instructions.

PRECAUTIONS
In case of problem
Do not use the unit if smoke or a strange odor comes from
the unit, or if it seems not to function correctly. Turn off the
power immediately and disconnect the power cord, and then
consult your dealer or an Authorized Sanyo Service Center.
Do not open or modify
Do not open the cabinet, as it may be dangerous and cause
damage to the unit. For repairs, consult your dealer or an
Authorized Sanyo Service Center.
Do not put objects inside the unit
Make sure that no metal objects or flammable substance get
inside the unit. If used with a foreign object inside, it could
cause a fire, a short-circuit or damage. Be careful to protect
the unit from rain, sea water, etc. If water or liquid gets inside
the unit, turn off the power immediately and disconnect the
power cord, and then consult your dealer or an Authorized
Sanyo Service Center.
Be careful when handling the unit
To prevent damage, do not drop the unit or subject it to
strong shock or vibration.
Do not install this unit close to magnetic
fields
The magnetic fields may result in unstable operation.
Protect from humidity and dust
To prevent damage, do not install the unit where there is
greasy smoke or steam, where the humidity may get too high,
or where there is a lot of dust.
Protect from high temperatures
Do not install close to stoves, or other heat sources, such as
spotlights, etc., or where it could be subject to direct sunlight,
as this could cause deformation, discoloration or other
damages.
Be careful when installing close to the ceiling, in a kitchen or
boiler room, as the temperature may rise to high levels.
Cleaning
Dirt can be removed from the cabinet by wiping it with a soft
cloth. To remove stains, wipe with a soft cloth moistened
with a soft detergent solution and wrung dry, then dry by
wiping with a soft cloth.
Do not use benzine, thinner or other chemical products on
the cabinet, as this may cause deformation and paint
peeling. Before using a chemical cloth, make sure to read
all accompanying instructions. Make sure that no plastic or
rubber material comes into contact with the cabinet for a
long period of time, as this may cause damage or paint
peeling.

Loosen the terminal screws, insert the cable as shown in
the illustration, and then securely tighten the screws.
There are two types of connectors, for RS-485A and
RS-485B cables, so make sure that the cables are
connected to the same corresponding connectors as for
the system controller.

the protocol and communication speed are located on the
top and bottom of the circuit board respectively.
Setup location
Take the following points into consideration when setting up
the camera.
The wall or ceiling used for installation should have enough
strength to bear approximately four times the combined
weight of the camera and bracket. Select a wall or ceiling
that is strong enough to bear such a weight.
Select a wall or ceiling surface that is completely flat, so
that there will be no space between the base of the bracket
and the wall.

Protocol and communication speed settings
Protocol setting
This sets the communication protocol to use for the
camera.
The default setting is the SANYO protocol (all OFF).

The default setting is 19200.

The default setting is 000 (all OFF).
Refer to LIST OF ADDRESS SETTINGS (SW1) for
address settings. (See p42)

Termination setting (JP3)
The termination connection setting must be made if this
camera is connected to a network system and it is in the
termination connection position.
The default setting is OFF (pins 23), so pull out the circuit
board and set JP3 to ON (short pins 12), then return the
circuit board to its original position.
If the camera is connected to a network system and it is
not in the termination connection position, the setting does
not need to be changed.

Communication setting (JP4)
The camera can be set for either RS-485 or coaxial
(default setting) communication.
The factory default setting is for coaxial communication
(pins 12), so that if you would like to use RS-485 control,
pull out the circuit board, change the setting to RS-485
(pins 23) and then reinsert the circuit board.

Install the main cover to the ceiling.

Make a hole in the ceiling for inserting the main cover.

Install the accessory clamp fitting to the top of the
main cover, and pass the cables (video output cable,
communication cable and power supply cable)
through it.
To install the clamp fitting, first screw in the main unit

securely, then tighten the nut

Pull out the three arms

of the main cover and
adjust them to the thickness of the ceiling so that they
secure the main cover in place.

Connect the cables.
Connect all of the cables that have been passed through
the clamp fitting, pull the cables to adjust them so that
they are not loose inside the cover, and then tighten the
clamp fitting nut.

Video output cable: Connect to the BNC connector
that is coming out from the top of the main cover.
After making the connection, slide the insulation cover
to hide the connectors.

Communication cable: Connect to the terminals on
the connection board inside the main cover.

Power supply cable: Connect to the terminals on the
connection board inside the main cover.
Refer to 1 Connection board in PART NAMES for
details on connecting to the terminals on the connection
board.
NOTE:
You can also connect the cables before embedding the
main cover into the ceiling. Adapt the installation procedure
in accordance with the circumstances.
Adjust each cable so that they will not be subjected to any
outside interferences and then fix the cables in this
position.

Install the camera unit.

Connect the drop-prevention wire inside the main
cover to the hole in the base of the camera unit.

Install the bracket.

While aligning the bracket base with the setup
position, make four marks on the wall at the mounting
bolt locations. Then make holes in these locations for
the four M8 anchor bolts and insert the M8 bolts.

Make a hole for the connection cables in the wall in
the middle of the bracket installation surface, and pull
the cables all together through the wall to the outside.
3
Pass the connection cables through the hole in the
bracket, and then align the bracket base with the four
M8 bolts and tighten the M8 nuts to secure the bracket
in place.
You can use the mounting brackets (sold separately)
shown in the illustrations below to install the camera to
the corner of a wall or to a pillar. (Ask the place of
purchase for details.)

Loosen the anchor bolts

then turn the bracket base to remove it.

While aligning the bracket base with the setup
position, make four marks on the ceiling at the
mounting bolt locations. Then make holes in these

Make a hole for the connection cables in the ceiling in
the middle of the bracket installation surface, and pull
the cables all together through the ceiling to the
outside.
If routing the cables along the surface of the ceiling,
use the cable groove

Pass the connection cables through the hole in the
bracket, and then align the bracket base with the four
M8 bolts and tighten the M8 nuts to secure the bracket
in place.

After passing the connection cables through the
bracket, screw the bracket back onto the bracket base
and securely tighten the screw

Connect the cables.
Connect all of the cables that have been passed through

Install the main cover to the bracket.

the middle of the bracket installation surface, and pull
the cables all together through the wall to the outside.

Pass the connection cables through the hole in the
bracket, and then align the bracket base with the four
M8 bolts and tighten the M8 nuts to secure the bracket
in place.
You can use the mounting brackets (sold separately)
shown in the illustrations below to install the camera to
the corner of a wall or to a pillar. (Ask the place of
purchase for details.)

Loosen the anchor bolts

then turn the bracket base to remove it.

While aligning the bracket base with the setup
position, make four marks on the ceiling at the
mounting bolt locations. Then make holes in these
locations for the four M8 anchor bolts and insert the
M8 bolts.

Connect the cables.
Connect all of the cables that have been passed through

Video output cable: Connect to the BNC connector
that is coming out from the top of the main cover.
After making the connection, slide the insulation cover
to hide the connectors.

Communication cable: Connect to the terminals on
the connection board inside the main cover.

Power supply cable: Connect to the terminals on the
connection board inside the main cover.

details on connecting to the terminals on the connection

NOTE: Adjust each cable so that they will not be subjected to
any outside interferences and then fix the cables in

Connect all equipment and turn on the power.
When the power for the camera is turned on, the self-test
function for the internal lens starts, and when it finishes,
the individual information for that camera is displayed on
the screen.
