Theapplianceyouhavejustbought,markedbythesymbol ,canbeusedforfreezingfresh

andcookedfood,makingicecubesandstoringfrozenanddeep-frozenfood.Forbestuseofyour

applaince,pleasereadtheseinstructionscarefully.Theycontainadescriptionofyourappliance

andusefultipsforstoringfood.





Somemodelsareprovidedwithicepacks:

removethemfromthebackofthedrawer(C)

and position them next to each other inside the

drawer.

INSTALLATION

Ensurethattheapplianceisnotdamaged.

Anytransportdamagesmustbereportedtothedealerwithin24hoursofdeliveryoftheappliance.

Installtheapplianceinadry,well-ventilatedplace,awayfromheatsourcessuchasstoves,

cookers,directsunlight,etc.Ifthisisnotpossible,thefollowingsidedistancesmustberespected:

betweenapplianceandcoalorparaffinstoves:minimum30cm

betweenapplianceandgasorelectriccookers:minimum3cm.

Itisalsopossibletoplaceinsulatingsheets(soldinspecialistshops)betweentheappliance

andthestove.Theappliancemustbeinstalledonastableandflatsurfaceasindicatedinthe

instructionsgivenontherearofthetemplateprovidedwiththeappliance.

Waittwohoursbeforeswitchingthefreezeron:inthemeantimecleantheinteriorwithasponge

dampenedinasolutionofwaterandvinegar,andfitanyaccessoriesprovided.

Theconnectionsocketmustbeaccessibleevenafterinstallation,sothattheappliance

canbeunpluggedifnecessary.Ifthisisnotpossible,connecttheappliancetothemainssupply

bymeansofatwo-poleswitchwithminimumbreakdistancebetweencontactsof3mm,fittedatan

easilyaccessiblepoint.



Ensurethatthevoltageindicatedontheappliancedataplatecorrespondstothemainsvoltage.







Whentheapplianceispluggedin,ifthethermostatknobisnotsettosymbol

,thegreenand

redLEDs(1)and(2)()lightup.ThegreenLEDremainsalightandindicatesappliance

operation.TheredalarmLEDremainsalightuntilthecorrectoperationtemperaturehasbeen

reached.Itlightsupagainwhenthetemperatureinsidethefreezerrisesduetofrequentor

prolongeddooropening,andwhentheappliancehasbeenloadedwithfreshfoodtobefrozen.





Thethermostat()isusedtoadjustthetemperatureinsidetheappliance.Position

indicatesthattheoperationoftheapplianceisinterrupted.Theidealstoragetemperatureof

frozenfoodforalongtimeis-18°C.Innormalconditions(ambienttemperaturebetween+20°C

and+25°C),itisadvisabletoadjustthethermostatknobtoamiddleposition.Toobtaincolder

orwarmertemperaturesthan-18°C,turnthethermostatknobtothehighestsettingortoposition

“

”.Ambientairtemperature,theamountoffoodstoredandthelocationoftheapplianceand

thefrequencyofdooropeningcanaffectfreezertemperatureadjustments.Thesettingofthe

thermostatmayhavetobevariedtoallowforthesefactors.Tocheckthetemperatureofthefood

stored,placethethermometer(ifprovided)underthefood;ifitisplacedonthefooditwillindicate

thetemperatureoftheairthatdoesnotcorrespondtothatofthefoodstored.



Thisapplianceisequippedwithanacousticalarm(ifpresent)whichsoundswhenthedooris

leftopen.



Theamountoffreshfoodwhichcanbefrozenin

24hoursatanambienttemperatureof25°Cis

statedontheratingplate.

Donotplacehotfoodinthefreezer;never

re-freezeevenpartiallydefrostedfoodstuffs.

Wrap foods in aluminium foil or cling film or place

theminspecificcontainers.Ensureallpacks

placedinthefreezerhavealabelindicatingthe

dateoffreezingandcontent.Intheeventofa

powercut,thefreezercompartmentwillmaintain

thecorrectstoragetemperatureforabout15

hours;however,itisadvisabletoavoidopening

thecompartmentdoorduringsuchperiods.

coulddamagetheappliance,butuseaspoonhandle.

Donoteaticecubesoricelolliesimmediatelyaftertakingthemoutoftheicecube

compartment-riskof“cold”burns.Donotstoreliquidsinglasscontainersinthefreezer.



Whenpurchasingfrozenfoodproducts,makesurethatthepackageisintact,i.e.itisnotswollen

andhasnodamppatches.Placethefrozenfoodsinthefreezerimmediatelytoavoidexcessive

temperatureincreasesduringtransportcompromisingfreshness.Inanycaseproductsmustbe

usedwithinthedateindicatedonthepacks.



Defrosttheapplianceatleastonceayearorwhentheiceonthewallsreachesathicknessof

about3mm.

Inbetweenonedefrostingandthenext,removefrostfromtimetotimefromthefreezergridsusing

aspatula.Donotusesharporpointedtools.Anydamagetotheapplianceresultingfromfailure

toobservetheseinstructionsisnotcoveredbytheguarantee.Defrosttheappliancepreferably

whentheamountoffrozenfoodisminimalorwhentheapplianceisempty.Thefrozenfood

mustbewrappedinsheetsofnewspaper(oracover)andkeptintherefrigeratororacoolplace.

Adjustthethermostatcontrolknobtoposition

thedooropen.Toremovethedrawers,pullupwardsfromthefront.Avoidusingdefrostingsprays

commerciallyavailable:theymaycontainharmfulsubstances.Afterdefrostingtheappliance,rinse

Aperiodicandpropermaintenancewillensurealongerlifetoyourappliance.

Beforeanyoperation,unplugtheappliancefromthemainssupply.

Cleantheinteriorperiodicallywithasolutionofwarmwaterandvinegar.Rinseanddry.

Donotuseabrasiveproductsordetergents.

Fromtimetotimecleanthedoorsealwithwaterandthendrywell.Donotuseoilorgrease.

Aftercleaning,reconnecttheappliancetothemainssupply.



Ifyouaregoingawayforsometime,unplugtheappliancefromthemainsandemptyitcompletely.

Cleantheinsideandleavethedooropen.

Donotswitchofftheapplianceforbriefperiodsofdisuse.



Theincorrectoperationoftheapplianceisnotalwaysduetoafaultbutitmayalsoresultfrom

incorrectinstallationoruse.Toavoidunnecessaryservicecallsforwhichyouwillbecharged,

werecommendyouconsultthistroubleshootingguide:



 •thethermostatknobissetcorrectly(seesection“Temperature

 •thefreezerisnotnearaheatsource

 •aircirculatesfreelyintheairvents

 •thereisnotanexcessivebuild-upofice

 Ifyourapplianceisfittedwithadrawersituatedonthebottomleft

handside(),removeitandcleantheinsidewithasoft

brush.



 •theambienttemperatureisnottoohigh

 •thedoorisnotbeingopenedtoofrequently.

Checkthat:

 •theapplianceislevel.

Checkthat:

 •thethermostatknobisnotsettoposition

•

 •thereisnopowerfailure

 •theplugiscorrectlyinsertedintothesocket

 •thedomesticmainsswitchisnotdisconnectedandthatthefuseshavenotblown

 •thepowersupplyclableisnotdamaged(seeNote).

Ifthepowersupplycablemustbereplaced,unplugtheappliancefromthemainsand

replacethecablemakingsurethatnewcableisconnectedcorrectly.If,afterperformingthe

abovechecks,yourappliancestilldoesnotworkproperly,contacttheAfter-salesService

(contactinformationcanbefoundintheguaranteeandtelephonedirectory);explaintheproblem,

specifyingthemodelandserialnumberofyourappliance.









Ifthemainsleadofthisapplianceisfittedwitha

BS1363A13ampfusedplug,tochangeafuseinthis

typeofpluguseanA.S.T.A.approvedfusetoBS1362

typeandproceedasfollows:

 Removethefusecover(A)andfuse(B).

 Fitreplacement13Afuseintofusecover.

 Refitbothintoplug.



Thefusecovermustberefittedwhenchangingafuseandifthefusecoverislosttheplugmust

notbeuseduntilacorrect

replacementisfitted.

Correctreplacementareidentifiedbythecolourinsertorthecolourembossedinwordsonthe

baseoftheplug.

Replacementfusecoversareavailablefromyourlocalelectricalstore.



TheinformationgiveninrespectofGreatBritainwillfrequentlyapply,butathirdtypeofplugand

socketisalsoused,the2-pin,sideearthtype.


